Waking up to the loud sound of birds chirping at the Inn window . I toss and turn trying to stay asleep . A knock then came loudly on my door , I shot up and glared at the door . Another knock hit the door .
"Wake up Dan !" I heard Gwen shout with anger in her voice . I sigh and get up to get dressed when the door unlocked . I turned to look at the door and was shocked to see they both let themselves in with magic .They stared at me and I at them .
"Uh ....I'm kinda naked here , mind turning around ?" I say angerly . Both of the girls blushed and turned around . I groaned and put on my pants and grabbed my shirt . " Ok I'm semi decent ." I tell them . They both turn around and all of our eyes meet . "So ..what did you two need ?" I asked .
" Well we wanted to talk to you about the werewolf , Did you kill it ?" Stacy asked , I shook my head and sighed .
"Nah the shots were in non lethal areas , besides he is a pure blood . His healing factor is one of the strongest things about him , A head shot or a heart shot are about the only way to kill him ...apart from having a stronger were fight him ." I explained .
They both looked at me "You said you were the alpha of this territory, could you take him ?" Stacy asked . I shook my head and sighed .
"Not a chance in hell , See he is a pure blood . A legit werewolf , he can shift on cue . He is heads and shoulders over me . I am a wolf-man , I was turned by scratch and can only turn during a full moon . I am strong comparable to a human , but a werewolf ....they could kill me like I could kill a human . " I explain
Gwen groaned " SO you are no use to us at all !" She shouted at me . I narrowed my eyes at her and growl slightly . She gave a small smirk " Wanna go for round two Fido?" she asked . I rolled my eyes at her .
"Maybe later star shine." I say with irritation in my voice . I put on my shirt and began to put my shoes on , This caught their attention .
"Where are you going?" Stacy asked , I sighed and glared at them .
" I'm going hunting for a big stupid wolf ...duh ." I said mocking them .They looked at me surprised .
"But you said you couldn't kill him , how are you going to hunt him ?" Stacy asked .
" No you asked if I could kill him as an alpha . Unlike him I am primal when I change , but he keeps rational thought . That alone puts me at a disadvantage , but as a human I may stand a chance . ...So long as I don't get my spine ripped out ." I said standing up and heading for the door .
"We're coming with you ." Gwen said trailing behind me , I stopped and gently knock my head onto the door .
"You witches are such a fucking hassle." I said under my breath . I was then forced around by an unseen force and glared at by the two witches .
" Hey we heard that , besides we handled you well enough last night ." Stacy said with a slight smirk . I groaned and gave a slow nod .
" Fuck it , we all gonna die anyway ." I say as she releases me from her magical hold.
Leaving the Inn we all headed to my car , an overwhelming silence filling the air . As we all got settled in I started driving . Stacy then broke the silence "So ...lived here long ?" she asked trying to fill the silent void . I shook my head and sighed .
"No , moved here about a year ago . I...needed to move somewhere safe ." I answered hesitantly. Gwen caught the hesitation and grinned slightly .
" Oh how original , Big bad wolf moves to a new town every so often to stay under the radar . Oh boohoo whoa is me ." she said mocking me . I growled slightly at her distasteful words .
"Gwen you don't know him ,stop being so mean !" Stacy said with a hint of anger in her voice that surprised Gwen and I .
" Why , he is a werewolf a mindless killing machine . Don't act as if his feelings matter ." Gwen retorted making me shiver in anger , but I push it down as we arrived at my house . I whip into my driveway and slam on the breaks , get out of the car and slam the car door .
"Breathe , just breathe . She is just a moron , a very wrong moron . " I thought to my self as I headed into my house , leaving the girls in the car with a slight glimmer of fear in their eyes .
Taking a second to sniff the air for any dangers , I slowly moved through the house . Evidence of the police's walk through sifting in the air . "Seems the cops were the last ones in the house , maybe I should buy them some coffee as a thank you ....people do that right ." I mumble to myself . I make my way to the window and look through the shattered glass and find a small bloody chuck of skin covered with fur . I sigh and pick it up before moving to the kitchen and place it into a plastic zip lock baggie .
"So find anything useful ?" Stacy asked as she made her way into the house . I nodded and held up the bag ."Is that a chunk of skin ?" she asked .
I smirked slightly as I nodded " Yep now I can use this to track him, But now I need a plan to take him out . " I say with a false smile . Gwen then walked in and moved to Stacy's side and avoided eye contact with me .
"Hey ...I'm sorry about what I said . I shouldn't take my anger out on you . I'm mad at that monster , not you ." She said with a surprising amount of sincerity. I give a small smile and wave it out .
"It's cool , I under-" I was cut off by the sound of multiple car doors slamming shut .
I walk out to investigate and instantly was surrounded by all the towns police pointing their guns at me , I began to panic " Guys what the fuck are you aiming at me for ?!" I shouted , An officer moved forward and started a video on his phone and tossed it to me. I caught it and watched .My eyes went wide " This ....is my footage from when I shifted last month, they must of found it last night when the were looking for the werewolf in the house ." I looked at him " Officer I can explain th-" I was cut off by his shout .
"Shut the fuck up , You ..were the animal that killed those girls and you wrecked your house to make sure you weren't looked at as a suspect !" He said as he took the phone from me ."This community trusted you and we accepted you and this is what you do , kill a group of girls !" Suddenly Stacy and Gwen ran up to him .
"It wasn't him , there is another one running around and Dan is trying to stop it officer !" Stacy shouted .
"Yeah and he has the footage from that night to prove it !" Gwen said as she went to the laptop and opened up the disk drive , only to find it empty . Her heart sank as she returned "It's ...gone , but it was there last night . Please , he is the only one who can stop this thing !" she pleaded .
"Girls shut the hell up and get out of here before I arrest you for obstructing justice !" He screamed . The girls just looked at him and seemed like they were about to fight back magickly until I tossed my hand up and shook my head .
"Go on girls , he's right ....I belong in a cage . Just be safe and watch each others back ." I said with a small fake smile , they looked at me concerned and started to walk away . I look at the officer and nodded " I'll go peacefully so nobody else gets hurt ." I said quietly. The officer then back handed me .
"No one will get hurt , just and animal getting knocked around . " He said as he and a a few other cops came over and started in on me . After some punches another officer shouted " Fuck it's like punching a house !" The main officer pulled out his baton and slammed it into my face knocking me out .
I wake up in the back of a police car pulling into the center of town , I shake the daze from my head and notice we are stopping at the center of town . I am surrounded by the towns people, I sniff the air . " The cop must of ran his mouth to everyone , fear and anger is thick in the air ." I think to myself .Suddenly the door opens and I get yanked out and hit the ground with a thud . Looking up I see Anderson looking at me with hate in his eyes as he brings his foot down to my face . I grunt from the impact ,but just lay there .
"Why are you just laying there , show every one the monster you really are !" he shouts as he pulls me up and pushes me into the cop car . A set of brass knuckles bashed into my face as soon as I look up .
A crowd gathered around and cheers and gasps could be heard after each and every hit . I slowly try to get up but am hit in the rips with a bat by a random townsperson joining in . I am then pulled from my thoughts .
Flashback
A fist hitting my in the gut and sending me across the room hitting the wall hard , as I tried to stand I only fell to my knees and vomited from the pain . " Dad , please stop . I'm sorry I went out , but I have a good reason !" I said as I held in the tears .
"Bullshit , you went out to party and left me to take care of your brother . He is your only job and you left him with me !" he shouted slamming his foot into my face . My head bounces back and hits the wall cracking it . "God damn it Dan , now you have to fix the wall !" he said pulling me up and forcing me into the wall . My eyes began to glow a golden brown and he jumped back letting me go . "Your not normal ,your a freak . Get out , out of my house !" I struggled to stand but begged .
"Dad , I have no were to go ! Pleas- " I was cut off by a swift slap a crossed my face .
Flashback end
"I deserve this, I am a monster ." I think to myself as I close my eyes accepting the pain
" Dan! Dan! " as I snapped back to reality , I glanced up and saw the Sheriff Tristian looking at the scene disgusted , The girls followed closely behind him . "What the fuck is going on !?!" he screamed at his officers .
"He is a monster , we are going to put him down ." Anderson shouted back at the Sheriff . The Sheriff grabbed Anderson and pulled him to his face .
"You are all fired , get the fuck out of those uniforms . I'm calling the state boys to take over !" he shouted making everyone in town speechless .
"You would pick him over us ?" Anderson asked angerly , The Sheriff nodded .
"I saw the videos you've collected , have you even considered he is letting you hurt him to avoid hurting you, you bunch of morons . If he was the killer , he could of done it easily enough ." Tristian explained .
The mob released a unified gasp in realization and started to back away from the scene , The sheriff motioned for the girls to pick me up and and take me to the station . Right before they did I forced myself up and walked passed them " You should of let them kill me ." I said under my breath as I stumbled my way to the police station.
Walking down the street I glance over at the tree line and see a male figure standing , he gave a mocking little bow . I growled " He set me up , he took the footage from the other night and made sure the police had the other ones . "I thought to myself
" This is not your town anymore Dan, I am taking over ." The man said from the distance , a normal person wouldn't be able to hear but werewolves could hear perfectly . " This is just the beginning, I promise if you leave now we will leave it at that . But if you fight me on this , I will kill you." he said in a calm ,but threatening voice .
I turned to face his direction " You think death scares me , I welcome it . But you did make one fatal mistake ." I explained .
"And what is that ?" he asked mockingly .
I cracked my neck " You think I'm some hero , But your wrong . I am a monster just like you and when this is all said and done I will be the one walking away , while you are in the fucking ground ." I threaten him openly .
"This will be so much fun Dan, I'll be in touch . " He said as he walked into tree line , disappearing into the foliage.
