Alex POV.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to walk you back to your dorm, Loren?” I asked her, not eager to part ways with her just yet, and worried for her safety at this hour of the night.
“I’ll be fine,” she said with a smile and kissed me on the cheek, “I’ll have Jam with me so you don’t have to worry about another golem attack.”
It was not the golems I was worried about, Amedis could already have spies searching for Loren at that very moment.
“Fine, but if you see anything strange call me immediately,” I insisted.
Loren turned her head to kiss me on the lips.
“I’ll call you if I see anything strange, I promise,” she said.
Her and Jamaiah took their leave which left me with Riley. Sarrah and Gil had already left to patrol the grounds on Zane’s orders, and now I was wishing that there was a buffer between me and Riley.
I was about to start walking when Riley spoke.
“Look, Silver, I uhm…” He paused for a moment. It was an awkward scenario so I could not blame him.
