Danica's POV
I was livid. This bitch was still talking nonsense and insulted me again in public. It was time to knock her down a peg or six. Lisa held up her hands and swung a punch at my head. It was sloppy and I could see it coming a mile off. With ease I dodged the blow and stepped back. As she continued to throw punches I dodges and waived between her strikes. She was leaving so many openings I didn't know which to take advantage of.
Suddenly she made a huge mistake. She tried to land a high kick to my head with her left leg. I blocked the blow easily, then grabbed hold of her leg tightly before yanking her hard over my shoulder and slamming her to the ground. Without wasting a second I got my legs around her neck and got her into a sleeper hold and chocking her. After a few last twitches she passed out and I let her face fall to the dirt. I stood up and fixed the leg of my shorts.
Jeff's eyes began to widen as he pointed to me. As he opened his mouth to say something Dean tackled him to the ground then carried him away. I heard someone clear their throat and Alice smiled at me.
"Take Lisa away. If she cannot beat a half-breed, she has no right to be training with the warriors. Put her in a less advance session. She might be able to keep up with some of the Omegas." There was a snicker of laughter as two omegas gathered Lisa up and took her away into the pack house.
Derick on the other hand was shooting daggers at his grandmother for her words. However, at that moment Oscar approached and slapped his shoulder.
"Hay big man!" He held the ring out triumphantly. "I found it." Derick took the ring his mood changing again then followed the Omegas that took Lisa.
Alice gave me a nod then waved for me to follow her. I hesitated as I looked to Jenny and she waved me onward. She led me to the side of the pack house where a large garden, still in fool bloom, had been build up around a pond. It was meticulously maintained and roses the size of my open hand bloomed filling the air with their fragrance.
"That was impressive my dear." She finished positioning her chair under the white gazebo then turned to look at me. "You are very skilled against a single opponent." I felt a little uneasy and nodded.
"I've been taking self-defence and kung fu classes for many years. Rodger also had some of his fighters train me." She nodded.
"Please tell me more about you." She waved for me to sit then looked to a few omegas that brought out refreshments.
Mathew's POV
Something had come over me again but this time stronger than before and I had to get away. I chased a few of the fighters to the grass to help search for the ring not willing to look up just encase I attacked Lisa. My protective instincts had gone into overdrive and even Derick seemed to be a threat to me. I darted to the water station and grabbed a paper cup. The match didn't take long, thank the goddess, and I could feel the anger Jenny held for me. I knew I should have stopped the match but I was worried I would have done something to Lisa that I couldn't apologize for.
With a shaking hand I looked up and saw Danica being led away and Derick was nowhere to be seen. I returned to the training yard and barked orders seeing the funny look Oscar was giving me.
Dean's POV
I had seen the look Jeff had given Danica when she fought Lisa and I too saw the mark on her leg. Fortunately there had been only the two of us to that side as others had moved to help look for the ring. I silence Jeff quickly by taking him out with a tackle then dragged him to the side of the house and into the large garage. His eyes gleamed with excitement and he pointed a finger at me accusingly as I had him pinned to the wall.
"You fucking knew!" I rolled my eyes and looked around.
"Keep your voice down." I looked back as Bella approached us. "He knows." She frowned and I sighed. "The scar on her leg." Jeff nodded and pointed.
"And that move. It was the Banshee's signature move the first year she fought in the ring." Bella placed her fingers to her temples and sighed.
"Fuck, this is annoying…" She paused for a moment then gave her signature heartbreaking smile. "But you won't tell anyone? Would you?" she opened her eyes a little wider giving her a doe eyed appearance almost like she was on the edge of tears. My heart nearly stopped. As her mate this look alone would have me falling over the place to do everything she wanted. I only thanked the goddess it was not directed at me.
Jeff seemed to have a mini break down. On the one hand he was wanting to run to Danica this very instant and on the other he was battling his inner demons as Bella gazed deep into his soul with those sparkling eyes of her. She sniffed in worry letting that golden locks of hers fall around her shoulders and she clasped her hands tighter causing her arms to press her chest forward.
"Please?" She asked in a voice like silk. Jeff staired his will broken and he nodded slowly.
"Dam girl… fine I won't tell anyone." He looked to me. "When the fuck did you get so lucky pup?" He knocked my hands away and stood up smoothing out his clothes. "We better get back to training or they will come looking for us." I nodded and he swaggered away towards the yard. Bella put her hand in mine and I sighed.
"I wonder if he can keep a secret?" I muttered and she giggled.
"We have to wait and see."
Jenny's POV
It had been some time since Danica left with Alice and I was beginning to worry. Alice did not take this much of an interest in someone unless she had alternative motives. I looked to Oscar as he finished up with the training. He seemed just as uneasy as I did.
"Any news?" I shook my head.
"No, they are still in the garden. Alice has had Iced tea and cake brought out but that's all I know." I turned as Bella and Dean approached with Jeff hot on their heels.
"Is Danica still with Alice?" Jeff asked and wiggled uncontrollably.
"Yes… What's the matter with you?" I nodded. Something had definitely changed about Jeff in the last hour or two. He was like a kid at Christmas who had seen his presents and was waiting for the word to open them.
"Go get washed up. I can smell you from here." He nodded and darted away.
"I won't be long!" I watched as Dean placed a hand to his head and grunted.
Derick's POV
I was sitting next to Lisa when she finally woke up. She looked around with a start then her eyes settled on me.
"What happened?" She asked in confusion.
"You lost spectacularly to a half breed…" I growled. "And my grandmother has demoted you to train with the omega's until you can hold your own in a fight." She seemed mortified.
"Babe, didn't you stand up for me? Didn't you see she used an unfair move on me?" I shook my head.
"No excuses." I snapped. "In a real fight people don't fight fair. You have done nothing but cause trouble. Why did you acted so ridiculously? Tossing away Jessica's ring like that?" She snorted.
"How was I supposed to know what it was?" I nodded
"Exactly my point." I stood from the bed my anger slowly beginning to boil. "What is she had been from another pack? The daughter of another Alpha and you did something like that?" I glared at her. "That one incident could have started a war between two packs and for what?" She frowned angrily at me.
"She was trying to put the moves on you…" I cut her off. This bull shit had gone on long enough.
"So what if she, or any other female, did? I'm a grown man I can control myself. You are my mate yet you do not trust me to behave as such." I turned to the door.
Suddenly she was beside me groveling and holding onto my leg. She looked up her brown eyes watery as she pouted.
"I was just so jealous, please my love." Her touch created little sparks that were diminished behind my anger.
"Grow up and behave like a Luna or get out!" I turned to leave pulling my leg free from her hold and storming out of the apartment.
"Babe!" She called "Where are you going?" I snarled.
"To get the boys from the tutor like I always do at this time on a Tuesday!" I yelled a little more anger in my voice than I intended and left.
