Chapter 114 - Chapter 114

Danica's POV

It was getting late when Alice had reluctantly let me leave after hearing about the majority of my life. I went back to my cabin feeling stuffed from all the cake and snack foods she had insisted I try. When I arrived back, I could see Bella, Dean, Oscar and Jeff sitting around the island in the kitchen.

"What did I miss?" I asked and Oscar sighed as he shot a glance at Jeff.

"This fucker…" Jeff exploded from his seat.

"Biggest fan ever!" He exclaimed and grabbed me into a bear hug around my middle and spun me around.

"What the hell!" I squeaked as he finally stopped his spin and looked around. Dean sighed.

"He saw that mark on your leg and recognized your form." He held up his hands. "Don't worry. I've had a look around. No one else saw or recognized you." I sighed and squirmed free from Jeff.

"Dam this scar…" I looked to Oscar. "I need you to bight it." He frowned.

"What?" I rolled my eyes.

"I need to get rid of it and the fastest way would be to cut it off." Even Jeff seemed to stiffen at the idea.

"Wouldn't people ask questions when you turn up smelling like blood?" I rolled my eyes

"Then what else do you suggest I do with it? It's too low on my leg for my shorts to hide." Bella held up her hands.

"But any knew scar you get will be just as visible. Possibly less recognizable but there would be a high chance." I nodded slowly. I hadn't thought that far ahead. Jeff smirked.

"I know!" He exclaimed. "Tattoos." He grinned and looked to Bella then back to me. "I'll get a tattoo of your scar on my leg and people will begin to think it's a trend with the Banshee fans." I nodded slowly as Bella chuckled.

"If enough people do it... it's possible." I shuddered at the thought.

"Anyway," Oscar clapped his hands together and picked up the towel. "I took another sniff at Lisa. She's definitely the Siren." Jeff's face went black as his eyes glazed over.

"Wait… She would hate you even more if she found out you were the Banshee?" I sighed.

"Oh yes, it also means she's somehow related to Vox…" Jeff growled.

"What the fuck? The vampire death match guy?" He asked and I nodded as Oscar smiled.

"Vox is the manager that also organized the wild card during the Banshee and Bulldog fight." Jeff nodded again

"When I got back the pack was pissed at how that went down… they watched the fighting on live tv at the pack house." There was a clap by the door.

"What did I miss?" Mathew walked in and Jeff smirked.

"We were talking about how Oscar has identified Lisa as the Siren and how pissed the pack was when they saw the wildcard in the match." He opened his mouth again but his eyes darkened as Dean suddenly mind linked him, and Jeff shut his mouth. Mathew nodded.

"They're still angry. I had to break up a few fights caused by hurt egos." Oscar shifted his eyes.

"Why are they fighting?" Mathew shrugged and took a seat.

"Most agree with cancelling the match but a few say it was bad form to stop the match as nothing illegal had gone down." There was a snort and Jeff took a seat.

Suddenly the door burst open and Jenny flew in. Mathew's face twisted into a horrible, pained expression as she approached him.

"Hey you!" She got closer and he tried to dart away. "What the fuck?" Oscar sauntered to my side.

"A lovers tiff?" She snorted.

"Hardly. Mathew has been avoiding me ever since you fought Lisa." She pointed at me. "I know he has something important to talk about, like what the hell happened at the training yard? Why didn't you stop the fight? Danica could have been hurt. Why did it look like you were about to rip Derick to shreds and why have you been ignoring my mind link?" He winced.

"Just close the door…" He sighed and flopped onto the sofa. "Fuck…" He placed a hand to his face. "Danica is there any beer or a case of it?" I nodded as I went to the fridge.

"That kind of day?" He nodded his eyes seeming far away as I opened the fridge door and pulled out a sixpack. "So what's got you all worked up?" He took the first can as I offered it and cracked it open. Even Jenny was looking worried as she sat next to him and tried to touch his leg but he shot up from the sofa and began to pace in front of the fireplace.

"Did you not feel it?" He looked to Jenny then to Oscar. "The fight plan backfired, big time…" I frowned.

"What do you mean?" He placed his hands to his mouth.

"Derick can't beat Oscar in a fight… and the pack knows it." I frowned and Oscar grinned.

"Is that all that bothers you?" Jenny sighed.

"He's been out of training for so long It wouldn't surprise me if you could take him out. Why the sudden… worry?" He looked at us and shook his head,

"I felt it, the shift." I narrowed my eyes.

"That sounds serious but I don't know why?" He nodded.

"I'm not an alpha. But Derick is and he's my brother… He's lost the respect of some of the pack…" Jenny gasped and stood up.

"You're not serious?" He nodded and gulped down the beer then crushed the empty can.

"I am… I can feel their eyes on me even now." I could see Oscar looking worried.

"Would it be a bad thing?" He asked. Mathew nodded.

"He's my brother! I could never do that to him." I frowned.

"Do what?" Oscar shook his head as Mathew opened another can.

"Mathew is a Beta but there is a way he can become an Alpha." He gave me a look. "He'd need to kill and eat his brother. More specifically his heart." I rolled my eyes.

"What is it and the heart with you lot?" Oscar giggled.

"Oh, it doesn't work for just anyone. I can't kill Derick and eat his heart. He's not my brother. Its kind of a way to protect the Alpha bloodline and keep it in the family." I saw the look of Mathews face as he downed another beer.

"Oh… Things have gotten that bad?" Mathew nodded. "If another Alpha were to turn up now… I don't think Derick could fight him off or if the pack would want him too." I ran a hand through my hair.

"What if his kids are alpha?" Jenny sighed.

"They're too little." I nodded.

"But didn't that Alpha Roland, you told me about, take over his pack at nine years old?" Jenny smiled.

"He did, but only because his Biological aunt mated with a high Beta… and there was no other way to protect the pack." I nodded.

"And Mathew isn't a high Beta." He shook his head.

"Nope and I'm the biological brother to the Alpha. The pack won't sit around for ten years to see if Kaden or Aden are able to take over as Alpha's or not."

"This is bad." Everyone nodded and I crossed my arms.

"You said Derick is with Lisa because of the mate bond right?" Mathew nodded. "But he has two mates." He nodded again. "Why don't you get the second mate here and have her kick Lisa out?" Mathew smirked.

"Not that simple." Jenny turned on him.

"Why?" She pointed fiercely at him. "Honest to god! If you know who she is and haven't told me I'm kicking you out the pack house for a week!" He winced and downed another can.

"Danica, can I sleep on your couch for a week?" Jenny slapped him and stormed off to the deck. I waved a hand at him.

"Go after her." He nearly jumped as he followed Jenny to the deck. "Well, this sucks." Oscar nodded and gave me a squeeze.

Jenny's POV

I was furious as I stood on the deck looking out over the meadow and up to the forest line. I smelt Mathew coming out the cabin then heard him closing the door.

'My love…' I snarled.

"Use your voice." I felt him flinch.

'It's better this way.' I spun around and placed my hands on my hips.

'Why?' he licked his lips.

'Because I can't fight Oscar.' I frowned.

'Why would you fight him.' I could see him licking his lips and rubbing his hands together.

'Look… I've been investigating the second mate and she doesn't seem to… to feel the mate bond. I know we were going to go to Richard and get her examined but Bella came looking for her mate and things got put on hold.' I frowned.

'Who is she?' He closed his eyes and pointed with his thumb back into the cabin.

'It's Danica…' I felt my breath catch in my throat as my eyes almost flew from my head, but I could see the seriousness on his face.
