Chereads / The Lunarian / Chapter 7 - Dream about the Great Dragon

Chapter 7 - Dream about the Great Dragon

Shirohara found herself on the day where Mokuro, Sonya, and Mic was playing with her on the white flower fields in the middle of the night. They were all laughing and chasing each other. She would ride on Sonya's ears and they would jump high. She would ride on Mic's back and Sonya would race with them.

How she and Mokuro would soar up in the sky and he would lecture her about flying. Though she doesn't have wings to fly.

She remembers that time when Marcus the falan wolf would take her on hunting and teaches her how to hunt and use her instincs. How she must not lose here focus and control herself not to panic no matter how big the enemy was.

Even those falans who taught her how to plant crops and flowers. How to pray to dryads in order to revive a dying tree or plant. She remembers those kind fairies in the dark forest who taught her how to to speak to insects.

Yes, she can speak to insects and even animals.

Those happy days she had in the falan village were unforgettable. They were like treasures for her.

And she didn't even thought that one day, they would all disappear.

Now, it's just her and an Alchemist named Namia.

She saw how she would climb up the tree with toxic flowers just to find Namia.

She didn't know why but that time, Namia was the only one she had after all.

Looking back at those days, she didn't know if she'll experience those again.

Then she found herself on a dark room.

There were hissing and glowing red eye surrounding her.

Hissing, like a snake would.

She can't see anything and she felt scared untill a flash of light had blinded her after a scary darkness.

When she opened her eyes, she saw herself looking at a big sphere with a lot of colors. There were also stars surrounding her.

She felt like she was on Mokuro's back and flying above the sky, or even higher than the sky.

Then she turned around and saw something.

A kind of an entity she had never seen before.

It was very big.

It's head is like the size of the sphere behind her. It had golden bright and sparkling eyes that seemed to see through her soul.

The entity was white. It was like a very huge and long snake with a lot of horns. It was like a dragon that she sees in Mokuro's drawings. If you were wondering how a huge owl managed to draw, Mokuro draws on the soil using his sharp talons.

She recalled what that entity was called. It was the White Dragon.

Or so that's what Mokuro titled his soil painting. Or call it soilting since he didn't used paint.

"You're too young. We'll meet again, someday." The entity spoke.

Shirohara couldn't speak. And she felt like she fall again.

The wind blew peacefully inside the room.

Shirohara woke up as she feel cold and that feeling of falling even though you're in the bed. She shivered and had goosebumps from the touch of the wind. She rubbed her eyes, stretched her body and sits up as she looks around the room.

"It was just a dream." She thought to herself.

After she looked around, Namia wasn't there but there was a breakfast next to the table of her bed.

She didn't know where Namia went but she didn't mind.

"Namia left... but since he's the adult here, he should've let a note at least. That's what being a responsible adult, well, that's what Sir Marcus had told me." She sighed.

She yawned and started to eat her breakfast. It was warm as if it was newly cooked. But then she remembered last night how Namia created some kind of magic that warmed the dinner given to them last night.

She smiled, it was interesting to be an alchemist like Namia. But her smile faded, she thought of Mokuro and the others in the land of the falans. She would be glad to show off her magic to them when she learned. But now, they're all gone. She felt like it's pointless to be Namia's apprentice as those whom she wants to appreciate her skills had gone.

"You need to keep moving forward no matter what. Even if there are important people in the past that can't be with you at the present, you have to remember that you'll meet more in the future. So don't be sad. What happened in the past, you can never take it to the present but may happen again in the future. " That was what the rabbit falan, Sonia had told her when the kitten she had as pet had died a year ago.

She smiled to herself. She was happy she was raised by falans. Even though they were bigger versions of animals that can talk, they were still like humans. Technically, they were humans before after all.

She then finished her breakfast and looked over the window.

There were families walking together around the port.

Human family. It seems like this place only allows humans to exist here.

Then she thought about herself. She was called a Lunarian but with a body of a human. She didn't know what was a lunarian.

"Oh well, Namia wasn't around. Maybe I should ask the townsfolk if they know about them. Namia's explanations were cool but he doesn't states all." She pouted and walked out of the room.

There were a lot of door in the hallway as she exited, there were also numbers on each doors. She looked behind her and the number was forty-nine. She wasn't dumb enough not to think about getting lost. She didn't know where Namia was and judging from the hallway, it's pretty big. She didn't seem to notice it yesterday since she didn't looked around.

She paused for a moment and realized she didn't removed the bandages on her arms and legs and people who passed by looks at her worriedly.

She exited the inn and and looked how big the building was. It was five storey building. She was amazed by how tall the buildings were. She didn't get to notice them yesterday as when she was walking, she's looking at the ground.

"Where are you going? We're going to leave now." Namia told her who was leaning on the street light pole with crossed arms.

"Now? I thought you said yesterday that we'll leave tomorrow?" She frowned as she walked towards him.

"Yup, and that tomorrow is today. You were asleep yesterday, the whole day and night." Namia closed his eyes and patted her head. "I'm glad you made it back." He smiled.

"Made it back? What do you mean?" She asked but then they heard a sound of a horn from a ship near the port.

"We've got ten minutes to go there, or else they'll leave us." Namia said and walked quickly towards the port.

He walks fast and Shirohara had to run.

"Why can't you do some alchemy thingy? You know, to get us in there." She suggested.

"That'll be draining my psynergy. And Alchemy isn't something that you'll do when you feel lazy." He sighed.

"What's psynergy?" She asked again. They were halfway towards the ship.

"I'll answer your questions later, okay?" He answered.

"Anyway, did we left anything in the inn?" Shirohara asked. Though she recall that she doesn't have anything.

She felt nervous, she must've left her soul gem.

"Oh no! The gem that Mokuro gave me! It's under my bed!" She was teary eyed and stopped from running.

Namia frowned. "You shouldn't leave anything valuable! You may die! It's your soul gem! Quick, hurry towards the ship, I'll follow okay? Here's the ticket." He said as he handed her a small paper.

"But...." Then she remembered that Namia can turn into the wind. She just nodded and ran towards the ship.

Namia ran towards the inn. He can't use alchemy while there's a lot of people. What more is that some of them may be the enemies.

The ship left as he reached the room and searched under Shirohara's pillows. And there he found her soul gem.

He turned himself into the wind.

Meanwhile as the ship goes farther and farther from the town, Shirohara felt weak. She's extremely sweating and feeling dizzy. The kind people gave her water and asked where's her guardian or parents. She couldn't answer them as her hearing started to faint her her eyes became blurry.

And then Namia arrived and told the people she's just having seasickness. This time, Namia had white hair and amber eyes. He introduced himself as Shirohara's father. He had to blend his appearance to convince the people.

Shirohara woke up in a room on the ship. Namia was there and watching her.

"Where... You... You came! I'm worried when the ship left." She said.

"Here." Namia said and ignoring what Shirohara said. "This is your soul gem. I turned it into a necklace so you wouldn't forget it anywhere. You've gotten wear earlier because your soul gem had gotten too far from you." Namia handed her her sould gem.

"Thank you... So that's why. But, how long was I asleep!?" She asked as she wore her new necklace.

"Just five minutes." Namia closed his eyes and sighed.

"I see, you said earlier that I slept the whole day and night yesterday. And you were glad I made it back, so I want to know why."

"You, you left your body here at TENSEI and your soul had traveled, towards the outer space. You may think it was a dream but you probably met her and she sent you back." Namia answered as he opened his eyes and looked seriously at Shirohara.

"Her? You mean that big snake with a lot of horns and tentacles?"

"Tentacles!? Oh dear. Please forgive her, your grace." He prayed.

"Yes, her. The great white dragon of creation. Normally, since your soul had travel farther, you're supposed to die but you made it back. I'm glad." He smiled at her.

"She said we may meet again... Namia, how do I meet her again?" She sounded hopefully.

"Well, if you'll pass my training, then you will." He patted her head.

"Anyway, why is your hair and eyes had different color?" She tilted her head and inspected Namia's look with her eyes.

"Well, they won't believe me that you're my daughter if my hair is black. Anyway, while we're on this ship, call me father. So we'll sound convincing, okay?"

"Okay, father. Argh it sounds like you're from the church!" Shirohara complained.

"The great white dragon of creation, huh. Maybe she knows what's a lunarian too. I'll definitely meet her again, to know more about me!" Shirohara said as she stares at the ship's window.
