Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 3:

There was a silence in the room as Kingsley looked away to his night time view. Neither he or Ivy said anything after she listened to that part of the story. His reaction was not something I was expecting. I was starting to wonder what had happened to my brother, this wasn't like him at all.

"Kingsley, If you don't want to continue, we don't have to do this." She said as he looked back at her, his eyes glassy and filled with a great sadness she had never seen in him before.

"No, I needed to talk about it with someone and so I will. Now...where was I? Oh, as she and I were closer to each other, I pulled her hand away slowly and decided that I should introduce myself. Considering she hadn't said a word since she woke up, I figured that she wouldn't understand me, so I said my name first and waited for her to respond, instead she tilted her head in confusion and just smiled at me, like she didn't understand a word I was saying this entire time.

"Why...are you staring at me like that?" I heard her suddenly ask me. I remember blinking once, twice, thrice before realizing that she was talking to me. I stared down at her and noticed the sheet she was holding against her body for dear life.

"You must be cold I'll get you something to drink, you should get into the shower or you'll freeze." I tried telling her, but it was like talking to a puppy, innocent but completely oblivious to anything I said. I turned around to walk to the kitchen before I felt something tag on my shirt, I looked back to see her holding on my shirt and the sheet she was holding fell on the floor.

"Where are you going?" She said as I stared at her, she was messing with me right?

"Alright do you understand a word I'm saying?" she nodded and smiled at me again, this was hopeless. "Do you know what a shower is?"

It took her a while to analyze what I was saying as she shook her head and her smile disappeared, I held her hand and we walked through several corners before we came across the huge master bathroom, in my room. She looked shocked and I was awkwardly happy that she was pleased with it. After drawing her a hot bath she got inside with the sheet and I let her be."

"You were treating her like you knew her. Did you not have any desire for her at the time or are you just immune to women like I know you were." Ivy said as he looked away with his hand over his mouth.

" I never said I was immune and you have no idea how weird my body was acting back then. I could barely hold back from wanting to just touch her, but we only just met, so I would scare her off, plus I had questions. I waited by the fireplace and heard footsteps approaching really fast and I looked behind to see the girl standing there, hair wet and back with the sheet, jeez.

From that evening I decided to not ask her any questions and let her rest first, so we watched some television, which she seemed not to understand, but she actually understand the humor in the show, time passed and I almost forgot to ask her. So I faced her and asked her who she was.

"I...My name's Nikita, I was called this many times so I assumed it was my original birth name." Beautiful name for a beautiful lady, I thought I could ask her a few more.

"Okay, thank God you can understand me at least. How did you end up in my house?" She cleared her throat and faced my properly.

"It...it's a really complicated story, but how I ended up in your fireplace is a mystery to me as well. After all the years I have never..." then she stopped abruptly like she was going to say something, kinda looked cute when she pouted.

"How old are you anyway?"

"I'm 999 years old by now? That should be about correct." My eyes flew open, she was messing with me.

"No seriously give me a realistic number to work with here, Nikita." I said leaning forward.

"I'm not joking with you, just like I'm not mortal, my age would seem incredibly surprising for humans. I have no way back home and I would certainly want to fit into society, but I have another problem."

"I'm sure you do, and hold the phone! What the hell do you mean you're not human? Is this some kind of prank?" I asked as she appeared to be laughing midway. She shook her head and looked at the fire.

"I don't know how I will explain it to you, but if I'm here that means I have a mission to complete. And since I have already met you, I can have an idea." I felt my eyes twitch as this conversation was becoming more confusing than i hoped it would be.

"Which mission could that possibly be?" I asked looking back at the gently waving flames of the fire.

" Before I turn 1000 years old I have to protect a host as by the contract. I am your spirit animal, I am a nine tailed fox." Is what she said.

Ivy took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes slowly sighing slowly.

"Kingsley, what the hell did you get yourself into exactly?!"
