We kept quiet after that. The only thing that kept us company was the flickering of the candlelight by the wind coming from the window. Iris sat on the chair close to the window and gazed at the candlelight.
I got up from the bed and closed the distance between us. I placed my hands on her shoulders and tried massaging them. She let me for a moment before gently removing my hand from her shoulders.
"I am not in the mood for that." She replied calmly. "I am sorry."
I sighed and stood in front of her. "You have to tell me what is wrong," I said. "Did you not want to come?"
"It's not that."
"Then, tell me what's wrong. Chesnut is alive and safe. I did not lay a finger on her head. There is something else that bothers you."
"Nothing is wrong."
"Your behavior says otherwise."
"This is exactly why I did not want you to stay in the same room with me. You ask too many questions." Iris said.
