"Friends?" I asked. Margery looked me in the eyes with so much excitement, and regardless of the circumstances, no one had ever asked to be my friend. I mean, not once.
"Sure. But you would have to tell me juicy secrets no one wants anyone to know." I replied.
She giggled. "Girl, of course. That's exactly what Ophelia and I used to do."
Meanwhile, Marius and the others had kept quiet and started staring at each other quietly. Margery dragged me back to the table and said. "It's time for introductions."
Then, she laughed at her thoughts and said to me. "I asked you to be friends, and I don't even know your name."
I forced a smile, realizing that it was indeed strange behavior. Or maybe, it was on me because I was not someone who threw names out without being asked.
"My name is Iris," I replied.
"That is a beautiful name," Margery replied.
I smiled back at her. Marius crept beside me.
