Miriam sat on the floor, reached into her bag and burned some herbs, satisfied with her preparations.
"Give me your hand. I would need some of your blood." Miriam said, with outstretched hands."
King Isaac hesitated like he was unwilling to find the answer to the question he so desperately wanted. Miriam kept her hands outstretched, and in time, King Isaac placed his palm into her hands, and she cut it with her knife.
With the blood now part of the spell, she continued mouthing her incantations. After a moment, she turned to king Isaac and said. "Your daughter is alive."
He released an air of relief and then rushed to speak to me. "Please, find my daughter. Whatever it takes."
"I will," I replied. Then, I stood up to make an announcement. "I know I am new to this council, but from what I have seen, we are in this position because my father chose a weak leader."
King Isaac gritted his teeth.
