Chereads / Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey / Chapter 12 - Grandiose

Chapter 12 - Grandiose

"Crack - bang!"

The car door was violently slammed shut. In the end, Koichi Shido got into the car unscathed. Takashi Komuro saw that everyone had arrived and shouted at Shizuka Marikawa, who was in the driver's seat. "Teacher Marikawa!"

Before he could finish speaking, Shizuka Marikawa had already understood what Takashi Komuro meant. "I know!" Then, she stepped on the gas pedal. The school bus was like a wild bull that had released its fury and started to charge!

Although Shizuka Marikawa usually looked like she was in a daze, she was much better than any old driver when she drove. The school bus felt like a race car in her hands. Kurumi had heard that she had served in the special forces? She wondered if it were true.

The school bus sped through an area with few zombies to crash into. Saya Takagi, sitting in the rear, stood up and shouted, "Go to the school gate!"

Needless to say, everyone knew understood this. Shizuka Marikawa hurriedly answered and concentrated on driving. At the end of the bus, the words "Fujimi Secondary Academy" were printed on it. They constantly shook off zombies behind them as the speed of the school bus left them far behind.

As they were about to reach the school gate, they noticed that zombies had completely blocked the door. Group after group of zombies blocked their path. The school's population was very high, so these should be the ones who were bitten and escaped by luck. In the end, before they even made it out of the school, they lost to the impact of the bus.

Although they would not be like the zombies killed by Kurumi, they would still have lost some of their bodies. They would probably be fine if they were missing arms and legs. If their internal organs were to be smashed, leaving their upper body and head, who knew if they would survive.

To be honest, in Kurumi's memories, the "zombies" of this plane did not show any signs of evolving until the end of the anime. Their movements were slow, and their intelligence was low. Other than being a little stronger and being able to infect others, what else could they do? How did the ZF end up like this? Who were those troops actually unable to stop these cannon fodders?

Although the Lord God had strengthened them a little, it was only to a very limited extent. Their speed was a little faster but could not be compared to other "zombies". Speaking of "zombies", Kurumi was not very sure how they evolved. Could it be that they relied on eating people? Absorbing energy and constantly improving themselves?

If there were an easy way to control a group of zombies, it would also be a good way to increase their strength. Looking at the zombies outside the window, Kurumi shook her head in disappointment. What she wanted to control were the zombies with infinite possibilities of evolution, not these!

When the time came, she would go to some collapsed worlds and carry out her plan! Unfortunately, she did not have the ability yet.

Kurumi only thought about these things for a few seconds. Since "he" had a stronger soul, it was still very easy to grow. As for her physical body not keeping up, she did not have any good ideas right now.

Shizuka Marikawa, who was sitting in the driver's seat, saw the group of zombies in front of the school gate. It was a lie to say that she was not nervous. She always felt that this was a disease. These people were not dead... But now she had no choice but to make the right choice!

"They are cannibals. They are monsters! They are no longer humans!" Shizuka Marikawa kept hypnotizing herself in her mind. Her expression changed from serious to dark. She lowered her head slightly. Her beautiful golden bangs covered her forehead, making it impossible to see her expression clearly.

"Buzz --" Shizuka Marikawa increased the speed of the car again, and the engine of the school bus was pushed to its limit. This old car was not weak, and it displayed a speed that it had never reached before. Its huge steel body was like a giant monster tearing through the swarm of zombies!

A bus traveling at a speed of more than a hundred kilometers an hour was enough to smash a human into pieces, and these zombies were no exception. One by one, they were sent flying the moment they came into contact with the school bus!

"Bang - Bang - Bang - Bang -"

A zombie's physical fitness was not much better than that of ordinary humans, so, naturally, they could not escape death. Those who were lucky were lost their limbs and fell to the ground. Those who were unlucky directly lost their heads! They were like watermelons being smashed into pieces. Red and white splashed all over the ground.

The glass in front of the car was also stained with these two colors. The people sitting in the car looked forward with lingering fear. No one knew what would happen next...

...

Bang - The school bus smashed through the black iron gate. The huge impact made the school bus temporarily fly off the ground. The people in the bus had to firmly hold their seats to prevent being around.

"Chi --" Shizuka Marikawa made the school bus perform a nimble drift. After that, the rear of the bus shook a few times and slowly stabilized. Her speed did not decrease as she drove towards the city. Sitting by the window, Kurumi, who was shocked by Shizuka Marikawa's "exquisite" driving skills, could not help but raise her eyebrows.

She used her right hand to straighten out her somewhat scattered bangs. She swore that if anyone told her that Shizuka Marikawa was a school's doctor in the future, she would blow up their heads! She would believe it if someone told her that Shizuka Marikawa was actually a professional racing driver!

The road to the city was still fairly empty. The sunset-lit path looked extremely beautiful under the embellishment of the cherry blossoms... But no one was willing to appreciate it at the moment.

Everyone in the car let out a long sigh of relief. "We finally escaped." Takashi Komuro wiped the sweat off his forehead.

"Yes." Kohta Hirano, who was still holding the nail gun, nodded at him.

Busujima was wiping her shinai with a handkerchief as she looked at Kurumi sitting next to her and asked, "Do you want to wipe the blood your sword?" Then she pointed at the stainless steel sword sitting on Kurumi's leg.

"Thank you very much." A smile so warm it seemed to be able to cure a person's heart appeared on Kurumi's delicate face. It stunned Busujima until the handkerchief in her hand disappeared. Then she smiled at Kurumi.

"Tokisaki, do you also practice swordsmanship?"

"You can just call me Kurumi. As for swordsmanship... Well, that is just a hobby."

"Then you can call me Saeko. It's really unusual to see a sword that has a sharp edge in school."

The blood on the stainless steel sword was wiped clean. The surface of the blade reflected the afterglow of the setting sun. It was so bright that people could not open their eyes. Even after cleaving through so many skulls, there were no chips in the blade. Not only did it mean that it was a good sword that had been refined hundreds of times, but it also reflected the excellent skill of the person using it.

Looking at Busujima, who was staring at the stainless steel sword, Kurumi handed the cleaned sword to her. Busujima took it and felt the weight and artistic style of the entire blade. No one expected it to be a long blade that had drunk blood and experienced killing.

Saeko looked at it again and again. The unknown pattern on the hilt left her a little confused. However, she had been practicing swordsmanship since she was a child, so it was easy to tell that this was a masterpiece of modern technology.

Although she loved it a lot, she still returned the sword. Her impression of Kurumi, who had an elf-like appearance, improved greatly. The curiosity in her eyes increased as she observed someone who shared her hobby.

At this time, Koichi Shido, who was sitting at the back, stood up and walked to the front. He held the two seats closest to the front with his hands. "It's safe now. Is the leader Busujima? Or Tokisaki?"

Kurumi glanced at him and turned to look out the window. She was not interested in him...

"We don't have a leader. We are just helping each other to survive." The calm voice of Busujima echoed in Koichi Shido's ears.

His gaze was like a poisonous snake that was waiting for an opportunity. The light outside the window reflected in his eyes, making him look even colder. "This won't do. To survive, a leader is necessary. This is someone who has to shoulder everything. Don't you think so?"

He turned around and looked at the students who ran up with him. Their expressions were exaggerated, and their eyes narrowed slightly as if they were enduring a wave of excitement.
