Chapter 18 - Shadow

Takashi Komuro and Rei Miyamoto searched for a while before finally finding a pair of handcuffs, a taser, and an old and small revolver on the body of the deceased patrolman.

Although it was indeed disgusting to search for things on the bodies of the dead, it was quite fortunate for them to find this equipment.

Having a hot weapon would definitely increase their chances of survival. Even a handful of bullets would play a significant role!

"Can you use it?" Rei Miyamoto, who was standing under the streetlamp, was not interested in the gun... Although she had a father who was a police officer, that did not mean that she could shoot a gun!

Takashi Komuro, who lived in an ordinary family in a peaceful era, could not use it either. Although Japan was fully educated using Western techniques, it was not like western countries where guns were rampant!

He was not very sure, "I remember that, unless you planned to shoot, your fingers can not be on the trigger."

He picked up the revolver pistol nervously. His movements were extremely careful. Kohta Hirano watched from behind him and felt the palm of his hand itch a little.

After training in Black Water, he was able to use most guns. Although he was a fat otaku, one had to know that he was a fat military otaku!

In his heart, Kohta Hirano knew that the best way to establish his position in this team was to get a hold of the gun. However, his naturally introverted personality made it hard for him to speak out.

After all, it could be considered a life-saving weapon. If he had it, he would not hand it over easily. Even if it were for a friend? As for Miyamoto and Takashi, weren't they a pair? If there was a day when Saya and I could also... hehe...

Saya Takagi looked at Kohta Hirano, who was stuck in a fantasy. He looked like a fool, so she retreated a few steps in disgust. The favorability that had just risen had been reduced by more than half. If Kohta knew, he would definitely cry.

"What's wrong?" The sensitive Rei Miyamoto immediately sensed that something was wrong with Takashi Komuro.

"It's nothing... It just feels heavy." Takashi Komuro looked serious, and his head was sweating. The feeling of holding a real gun was far more exciting to him than smashing a zombie's head with a baseball bat.

"Of course, this is the real thing." Rei Miyamoto had seen real guns many times, so she had become was particularly indifferent to them. She wanted to laugh at Takashi Komuro's performance in her heart. After all, his serious face was really cute.

After fiddling with it for a long time, he finally opened the magazine of the revolver. The bullets were full, but Takashi Komuro was still a little disappointed. "Only five shots."

"Takashi, here you go." When he heard Rei Miyamoto's voice, he reflexively turned his head and reached out his hand to receive the thing that Rei Miyamoto had in her hand. They were four perfectly fine bullets, but the bloodstains on them seemed to indicate something.

He looked at Rei Miyamoto, who was holding a handkerchief and wiping the blood from her hand in surprise. Her expression was extremely calm as if she was doing something insignificant. "The other patrolman, although the gun he held was broken, the bullets seem to be fine."

"You are really amazing..." Takashi Komuro looked at the odd Rei Miyamoto in front of her. He could not understand why she became like this. Suddenly he thought back to Igou. Perhaps the incident in the afternoon had hit her too hard.

"Dad showed me his gun. Also, do you really think I will be shocked because of some blood?" After wiping off the blood on her hand, she folded it and put it in the pocket of her skirt. Her face was as calm as a pool of stagnant water.

She put the other gun on her waist and looked back at Takashi Komuro. "Let's go. There is nothing to here anymore."

On the other side, Saya Takagi and others had already returned to the school bus early. As they arrived, they saw Kurumi smile at them. Although they had seen it many times, they still felt amazed. However, the resentment in their hearts became even heavier, and all of it was vented on Kohta Hirano, who was beside them.

On the other hand, the fat otaku showed a painful and enjoyable expression.

Saeko Busujima, who was beside Kurumi, felt her eyelids twitch... She had never come into contact with anything like S&M before.

It was fine for her to exert violence on others as it was the pleasure of conquest but to show such an expression after being abused. She could not understand what was going on...

Rei Miyamoto looked at the bloody baseball bat in her hand. "Do you still want this? Or do you want to throw it away?"

"Keep it. I haven't used a gun before, so I can't guarantee a hit."

"But with a gun, my heart will be a little more at ease." Looking at the smile on Rei Miyamoto's face, Takashi noticed a hint of teasing. Takashi Komuro's face was covered in a deflated expression. He ignored her and went straight to the school bus.

The school bus started running again and drove in the direction of the gas station. Although Takashi Komuro and others were a little disappointed, they still accepted the reality and matured. Sure enough, they had to rely on themselves.

The place they had stopped at had a zombie walking out of it towards the road. It stood on the road and looked at the car lights as if it was thinking about something.

The car drove into the gas station. As expected, there was no one here. It was empty as far as the eye could see. Aside from the tiny insects flying around on the lights, there were no other living creatures.

"Is there any leftover fuel here?"

"No matter which gas station, it will have a reserve oil that can fill thousands of cars in its storage. It will be no problem."

Just as Takashi Komuro was about to step forward, he saw the words "notes" written on the gas box.

"Tsk!" "This gas station is self-service. If you don't insert a card or don't pay money, we can't get any fuel."

"Then just give it the money." Rei Miyamoto was a little confused.

Takashi Komuro looked a little embarrassed. He scratched the hair at the back of his head with his hand. "I bought some food for lunch, so I only have 30 yuan on me."

"Wu ---so bad!"

Looking at the angry Rei Miyamoto, Takashi Komuro felt a wave of nameless anger in his heart and roared at her, "So in the end, I can't compete with Igou!"

"Since when did I compare you to Igou!"

"Didn't you say that I was weak? Then there should be someone better than me, right? If it's not Igou, then who!" Anger and shame were displayed on his face. Seeing this, Rei Miyamoto wanted to punch him. "You are really terrible!"

Among the people behind him, the naturally foolish Shizuka Marikawa was a little anxious. She hurriedly ran between the two of them to mediate. The shaking of her chest almost blinded Kurumi!

"Don't, don't make any more noise! I have a fuel card here. Take it and use it!" Her hands kept searching in the pockets of her clothes... Noticing everyone's eyes were focused on her, she became more and more anxious, but she could not find the fuel card.

Suddenly, Shizuka Marikawa seemed to have thought of something. She clenched her right hand into a fist and dropped it into her left palm. Happily, she announced, "I remember now. My fuel card and wallet are in the infirmary's bag!"

Then, she noticed everyone was looking at her with concern, she ran back with a red face. Takashi Komuro looked at Kurumi and the others. "What about you? Do you have money on you?"

They shook their heads in unison. Takashi Komuro struck speechless by their surprisingly synchronized movements. Well, they were all fleeing at the time, so why would they care about money, a "mere worldly possession"?

After sighing, Takashi Komuro decided to go into the store. It would be best if he could find some money there.

After some discussion, Kurumi and Takashi Komuro finally went in together, leaving Rei Miyamoto and the others there to guard the school bus.

Regardless, with Saeko Busujima here, there was no fear of any accidents. However, she remembered that something had happened at the gas station in the original work. What exactly was it?

Since she couldn't remember clearly, she shook her little head, flicking around her two ponytails in distress, and gently patted her white and tender face. She no longer thought about it and carefully entered the dark store with Takashi Komuro.

Rei Miyamoto left the team outside the shop and stood beside the gas box.

There was a tall shadow behind her.
