Chapter 532 - I Can do what She Did

One person willingly chose death to pursue their dreams, while the other was killed through treachery, and it was done against Konan's advice. How could you expect Konan to remain calm and composed? Besides, in the original storyline, after Nagato's death, Konan knew that she might be killed soon by the masked man due to the existence of the Rinnegan. She had prepared herself for the possibility of death and was calm.

But now, the situation was different. In the original story, she didn't need to seek revenge because Nagato had died willingly, but this time he was killed against her advice by an ally. She couldn't die; she had to seek revenge. How could Konan stay calm under these circumstances?

What's more, Konan had witnessed Tobi and Sasuke escaping right in front of her. A, with his abilities, was difficult to locate, and even if she did find him, facing him with her level of strength would be challenging, especially since he now had the Rinnegan. On top of that, there was Sasuke with his newly acquired Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Konan was unsure about how to proceed. Should she just watch her enemies live their lives while she couldn't seek revenge? She had never felt so powerless before.

"Maybe I was a bit too harsh, but it's better to feel sadness than to walk around like a lifeless corpse." Ryoha thought to himself.

"What should I do?" Konan muttered to herself, still dazed. Suddenly, she remembered something. Although she had been staying in the courtyard and not talking to anyone, she had overheard conversations among Bulma and the other women. One thing that stood out was Guren.

This woman had gained strength comparable to that of a Kage in just a week. She even held her own against someone as powerful as Haku for an extended period. If Guren could achieve such power, could she do the same? Konan, with renewed determination, looked at Ryoha.

Konan's lips quivered as if she wanted to say something but couldn't find the words. After all, they had been bitter enemies until recently, so asking this person for help was challenging.

"Let's go." Ryoha said, not paying much attention to Konan's hesitation. If she had acted completely indifferently to Nagato's death, he would have been more surprised.

"Wait!" There were only the two of them here, and Konan found it difficult to speak. She realized that returning to the others would make it even more challenging to ask for help.

"I want revenge!" Konan finally found her voice. She confessed her desire, knowing that there were no free lunches in this world. Her being enemies with Ryoha made it even harder to ask for his help.

"And then?" Ryoha had already figured out what Konan wanted to say. It was clear that she knew about Guren's situation and wanted to do the same. However, Ryoha couldn't think of any reason why he should help her.

"Heh, helping you improve your strength, whether it's hard or easy, you should understand our respective identities. The fact that I'm not killing you is already the most significant leniency you can get from me. So why should I help you gain more power? Do you want to become stronger and challenge me later? Guren is my subordinate, and she's also my woman. She's loyal to me, and I promised to help her. That's why I'm assisting her."

"As for you, I can't find a single reason to help you. But don't despair. In any case, whether you can seek revenge later doesn't matter. In three weeks, they'll all pay the price. No matter where they hide, it won't help. By then, I can consider it as helping you get your revenge." Ryoha sneered as he looked at Konan.

"You..." Konan felt a bit embarrassed, and her face flushed with a hint of red. Did she need to say something like, "I can also be your woman; please help me"? She couldn't bring herself to say it. After all, for many years, she had been considered an angel, a figure high above the rest in the Amegakure. While she wasn't arrogant, she wasn't the kind of person to let others take advantage of her either. No one had ever exploited her.

"That's enough, let's go." Ryoha decided to activate the Hiraishin no Jutsu. However, in her desperation, Konan grabbed Ryoha, her voice trembling as if she was on the verge of tears. "I can do what she can do." she said, her voice losing its strength.

"You can do it? Well, too bad, I don't believe you." Ryoha activated the Space-Time Ninjutsu to leave the area, leaving Konan behind in her state of confusion. Ryoha was sure that Konan would never be loyal to him, and he couldn't trust her words. How could he trust someone who had been his enemy and had suddenly become so devoted to him? He couldn't think of any reason why he should help her.

Ryoha declared himself not to be a good person, and he didn't have any intentions of becoming one. Unless he was in an exceptionally good mood one day or felt inspired, he wouldn't help someone without a reason. There was no reason he should help an enemy like Konan, even if they had both faced a difficult upbringing and were orphaned as children.

His compassion had been used up in his previous life. In this life, he only wanted to be a free person, living as he pleased without anyone interfering. He was considering retiring from the ninja world after the War, finding a place to live his life in peace. It wouldn't be a complete hermitage, but he wouldn't allow anyone to disturb his life. After the war, Ryoha was already at the pinnacle of the ninja world, and not even the Sage of the Six Paths could compare. Even if someone knew where Ryoha was, no one would dare disturb his life. That's why he knew the last battle would be the most crucial. He wanted it to be grand, marking his supreme status and existence in the ninja world, and he would exit the ninja world with no one having the courage or power to challenge him. He placed great importance on this final battle, as it would ensure that no one would ever dare to challenge him again or disrupt his peaceful life.
