Chapter 2 - Orders and Escape

"With our current level of technology we can't be certain but it appears that the force that has taken over the UK has started to move." Even though most people recognized the Webway as a nation the general giving the current speech refused to, it was understandable considering the fact he almost died when the country was taken over.

"For that reason we will be sending some of you in to investigate it, the people attempting to enter the area will be; Anna Ivanov, Chen Angju," He continued to rattle of a list of names till he paused at the last one and a slight sadistic smile formed. "... and George Belos. You move out in a week, that is all. Dismissed."

I walked to my room in a trance, as if I had been issued a death sentence, I barely noticed the half contained looks of joy on people's faces as I walked past them. The joy I felt at finally awakening my system drowned in the sorrow and anger of my certain death.

Upon finally reaching my room I entered and collapsed onto my bed, and I broke down into tears, I would die and no one would care. I could have -and would have- continued to lay their all day, if not for two beeps from the system I had all but forgotten about.

[New Quest Unlocked]

[Engage AI]

[Y/N]

"Quests." I muttered, trying to distract myself from my imminent death.

[Quests]

As the regular set of quests appeared I admit, I got slightly annoyed by the quantity, and the system apparently recognized that.

[Quests: New]

Thanks system.

[Quests: New]

[Escape: Escape the facility you are trapped in; reward: Class change token, skill/talent draw.]

Well thanks a lot. That's certainly impossible. Ah to hell with it Engage Ai, Yes

[AI Engaged]

'Hello hello hello.' A cheerfull voice muttered in my head

"Hello I said weakly, voice soar from the crying.

'...You dont need to talk, Im part of the system, you can talk to me the same way.'

'Oh', I thought, 'I'm an idiot'

'Yes, but anyway you seem to have a problem, need help?' the voice responded, cheerful as ever.

'uh, I'm being sent on a mission to certain death in a week and unless I can escape this hellscape not much I can do.' The stress was getting to me.

'Seems simple enough, just escape.'

'great idea, I'll just stroll past the heavily armored guards who are ordered not to let us leave.'

'listen, just give me a map to this place and lets see what I can do'

'Fine'

I started to walk to the computer built into the wall and accessed the map, I hadn't seen it in years, I guess they never got around to deleting it.

'oh, thats pitifully simple.' The voice said, and placed a mental plan infront of me, I swear it felt like my mind would shatter.. for about a second, perks of a high intelligence I guess. Once that thought train went past I started to look at the plan, it was incredibly detailed and seemed like it would work.

'H-how?' I asked, 'This shouldn't be possible.'

'High intelligence, brilliant what you can do if you can just, focus' the voice responded, adding a big of flair to the last word.

'I guess that makes sense.' I though, mental voice slightly down

'Relax, you'll be able to do it yourself one day'

'Really' The thought of being able to do that brought a smile to my face.

'Sure, with training.'

After that exchange I focused on the plan, getting the details memorized.

Then it came, the day of the escape.

Right before it was set to begin I realized something.

'I never caught your name.'

'my name? Phillip' Phillip responded.

'Ima call you Phil' Cause I'm smart like that

'Please no' Phil groaned.

'Cant talk, prison break in progress' I responded, he would warm up, eventually.

With that short exchange I left my room and headed to the court yard, the place was normally empty and thankfully it was now. Walking to the edge I lept up, onto the fence and started climbing it, only for the alarm to start blaring. Great, just great. Speeding up I reached the barbed wire tossed a hoodie over it, climbing over to another field. Sprinting across I could hear heavy footsteps rapidly approaching. Cursing I started to burn my stamina points to escape, I even made progress, the footsteps died down and a massive wall aproached. Then the bullets started to fly.

[-5 HP, 14/19]

[-5HP, 9/19]

"FUCK!" The bullets hurt for a second then stopped, and the guards stopped firing. Yelling something I couldn't hear properly I cast an ice wall below me, lauching me above the wall and into the forest beyond. I laughed, till I realized I was starting to fall.

"Oh shit, Oh fuck, fuck" I proceeded that string of profanities with another capable of sending a priest into anaphylactic shock, not that many are left. As the ground rapidly loomed closer I spread into an eagle position and aimed for the thickest part of the tree canopy.
