"I can change you anytime you want…" I said, looking at her, taking a deep breath.
"No, I'm fine, I just never drove G-Wagen before, you know," she smiled at me, then turned her eyes back to the road. It took her a few minutes to drive out of the garage, so she relaxed a little. I nodded in respect, then showed to the main road, leading to the gates.
"Drive straight to the gates, they will open automatically, then turn left and straight to the city." I looked at her, seeing her relaxed face, then took out a phone and typed a short message to Raphael, then put the phone back in my pocket and looked at the car window, watching nature slowly moving outside. Aurora was driving slowly to the gates, but when we drove out of the territory of my mansion and turned back to the main road leading to the city, she added some speed, that was comfortable for her. It wasn't easy driving in the unknown car you have never driven before, so I wasn't forcing her to add some speed. We still have a lot of time for dinner, so a few minutes won't change the situation at all.
"Where should we go?" she asked after some time, and I got back to reality, seeing a lot of cars on both sides of us, so we probably entered the city with its hard traffics. It took me a few seconds to look around and understand where we are.
The passengers on the streets were looking at our car with their mouths opened widely, as well as some drivers of the cars, whom I could see from their non-tinted glass. A smirk appeared on my face.
"I'll guide you. Straight for now," I said, still watching the humans outside the car. They all were in a hurry, running somewhere and trying to gain the time they wasted on some unnecessary things they do every day. They don't even know the real power of time.
"I need more details to be ready to turn the steering wheel if needed," she said, and I looked at her, then pointed to the left side of the street.
"You should turn left here, then go straight to the first crossroad, then turn right and drive straight to the fountain on the left side of the street, then slow down." I said, while she was already turning the steering wheel left, so the car turned to the small street, and she drove straight to the crossroad, turned right and looked on the other side of the street.
"I don't remember I saw the fountain here, but I quite remember that street," she said, still slowly driving and looking for the fountain.
"You definitely must remember that street," I said without any further details and pointed to the fountain, "Here it is. There's a parking near."
"I see," she answered, driving to the parking and looking for a free place.
"I'll look from the outside, and help," I said, so she slowed down, and I got out of the car, went to the street, and started looking for a free spot enough for our big car. I noticed humans look at me and could easily read their minds even without Rick's mind-reading ability. They wonder who's driving that black mate G-Wagen if I'm here, and they truly do not expect it to be a girl.
Suddenly, I saw two free parking lots near each other and raised my hand, so Aurora could see me. She noticed me immediately and turned the steering wheel to my side, so the car started slowly driving in the parking lot, then stopped right in front of my face. I smirked, seeing a small crowd gathering behind me, so I moved to the car and opened a door for her, giving her my left hand and still having my right one in the pocket.
She jumped out of the driver's seat, her ankle straps clicked, and she turned to me, while her maroon hair and red silk high slit dress were still dancing in the wind. I finally saw her body trembling and heard her fast heartbeat.
"I was so worried I'd crash this monster into a neighboring car!" She put her hands on my neck, wrapping it, so I hugged her waist and kissed her lips slightly, knowing no one can see us because of the opened car door. And even if someone saw us, I don't mind. They would never be able to publish those photos in the media.
"You did great," I easily took her waist in my hands, lift her up and put her in another place, took the keys out, then closed the door and put the signaling system on. We heard whispers from the crowd and even saw camera splashes, so I hugged her waist and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, then took her chin with my cold fingers. "You should drive more often, so sexy and cute at the same time; killing combo."
She blushed from my words, then I took her in my arms, and before that crowd reached us, I ran away.
~Aurora~
I didn't even have time to think when he put me on my legs and turned me around, so I saw…
"Police station?" I blinked several times, looking at Markus with my eyes widely open. He didn't say even a word, just held me at his elbow. He was looking very elegant in his white suit with black shirt and black tie which he stole back from me when I haven't even noticed. Also, white Oxfords were completing the general image of him as a very wealthy and young man. I looked at my reflection in the windows of the police station and took his elbow without any further hesitations. We looked great together with our clothes matching again…red and white. We were like two best bottles of old wine. However, the white wine was older than the red one, but no one except us knows.
He led me inside as a true gentleman to the police station that almost a week ago was my curse and my jail. However today I stepped into it as a mafia Underboss, and it hasn't bothered me at all. I looked over my co-called ex-colleagues and to my wonder, I have seen neither hatred in their eyes nor jealousy nor disrespect. They acted as if they saw me for the first time in their lives. Don't they remember me? Then, I looked at Markus and remembered that mafia meeting in the nightclub and my thoughts after his words that the mafia put me into the police. There I thought that the mafia really asked me to do that, but cleared my mind somehow, so I don't remember it.
What if Markus cleared their minds, so they don't remember me?
If yes, I'm ready to say thanks one billion times.
We went alongside the tables filled with folders and documents and stopped in front of my ex-boss's door. Markus turned the handle and stepped inside, then let me get in and closed the door behind my back.
"Mr… Malone…"
"Long time no see…" I looked at my ex-boss with a grin and licked my lips with the tip of my tongue when I suddenly found out my fangs are visible. I looked at Markus and saw his shining red bloody eyes and long sharp white fangs almost touching his lips and leaving two bloody marks on them. However, I don't understand my reaction, but I definitely can smell the fear coming from my ex-boss, so I looked at him again. He stood up from his place and pressed his back to the wall behind him as if it can cover him from us.
"What's… the…matter… Mr… Malone…" he asked when I noticed Markus moved from me to him in half of the second, squeezed his neck.
"That's your time to say what's the matter…" Markus easily lift him, and he wasn't as lightweight as I was, my ex-boss was a fat rat, but it wasn't a problem for a vampire to lift him and put him back in his seat. Markus put his hand on his shoulder and pressed him to his seat, then leaned down and whispered, "What was the reason you planned to kill Aurora? And how you erased her memory, so she couldn't remember it again? Any vampires in your miserable forces?"
I blinked several times when I finally understood what Markus had planned as a treat for me. He wanted to get answers to some of my questions, so we will have more clues on how to solve that psycho-maniac riddle. We haven't talked about it since I was kidnapped, and it's pretty bad because we hadn't talked about my future either in the mafia or in the police as well, which is making my head hurt whenever I think about it.
"We…" Mr. Fat Rat probably wanted to say that they never had such plans, and they never erased my memory, but Markus squeezed his shoulder more because I heard the bones cracking. Rat screamed in pain, but Markus put some documents in his mouth, lift him again, and pressed him to the wall with his back. He did it too fast and too hard because I heard the bones cracking again.
"You will kill him, and we won't know anything," I said as if playing in a "good and bad detectives". Markus looked back at me, then threw that rat right into my legs and crossed hands over his chest.
"I can find a dozen of such rats who can tell me everything in a second…" He said, then sat to the place of the police boss chair and started looking over the documents with his red eyes, not touching them with his fingers. He was careful to not leave any clues about us being there.
I looked down at my ex-boss lying on the floor in my legs and crying from pain with some document in his mouth, so I leaned down, took that document away, and looked over it shortly. It was just some pieces of blank paper, but I noticed pen marks on it, as if someone was writing with a pen without ink. I stepped over the lying rat and held the paper to Markus.
"There are pen marks here, but nothing is written on that piece of paper…" he took the document from my hands and looked at it carefully.
"Invisible ink…" he clicked with his middle and big fingers to each other, then a piece of fire appeared on its top and Markus put it under the paper. I saw some handwriting appearing when Markus looked at me, "Rat escaping…"
