Chapter 4 - Chapter 4- Glow

[Welcome to your new life!

You had no area of excellence!

Your area of mediocrity was sense.

You have been granted the skills Danger sense! Good luck!]

'Wow. AGAIN?!'

I was shocked for three reasons,

First one being I had been reborn again

Second one being how quickly I died

And third one being that I killed myself technically twice.

'I need to survive.'

I mentally gritted my teeth and opened my eyes with readiness

'Huh?'

But not enough readiness for this

'Im a child?'

I seem to be alone in a wooden crib in a pretty shabby room,

Beams of sunlight seep into the room through a window and slight cracks in between the wooden boards on the wall with said window, the room smells slightly of sawdust

I wiggle my legs and arms in my crib

Id assume bit younger than a year old?

'What happened to the child whos body Im in..'

Three figures enter the room,

A man and a woman whos faces seem ridden with worry walk side by side, with them a taller man holding a briefcase

"___ ____ __"

"__ ____ ___"

Theyre speaking but I dont understand any of their words

The taller man looks down at me with a puzzled face before setting his briefcase down

Now that hes closer I can see his features quite clearly, hes older, wrinkly, but his eyes are very clear and full of life

He reaches into the crib and puts his hand on my bare belly

The man and woman are talking worriedly and the taller man says something that settles them down

He inhales and closes his eyes

*Bzzzzzzz*

His hand that is lain on my stomach emits a glow and a slight hum

'MAGIC?'

The hum gets a bit louder and the yellow glow brightens and then stops, silence fills the room.

The taller man removes his hand, steps back, and then says something in the unknown dialect.

The woman begins to cry, and the man holds her close

"Bahbahbah?"

I ask with gibberish questioningly

The woman approaches the crib before picking me up gently

I cant tell if shes sad, happy, or a combination of both, but by the look in her eyes, and the tenderness of her touch, she loves me.

'Hi mom'
