Chapter 5 - Chapter 5- Mana

One year has passed

My name is Viek,

Im almost two years old now, and Ive got the language down pretty good!

I think it has something to do with that adaptation skill, Ive learned a lot since this life

Firstly, this isnt the world I was from, it seems pretty medieval actually, they dont even have lightbulbs

Secondly, MAGIC! They call it mana and apparently all the people in this place can use it if they have the talents for it

Thirdly, my parents seem to own a pretty decent little farm! I dont think I'll have to worry too much

Most of my day is spent looking at an open beginner swordsmanship book practicing with a tiny wooden sword my father (Vall) got for me

My body isnt very strong and the balance is very weird considering my head has half my weight but even still I manage to get in a little practice, its not too difficult to stay motivated especially considering how much my parents praise and dote on me

___

This evening Im currently practicing the stances in the pages of the book right now, as I said Im really weak right now and my balance is weird so I usually just hold the correct positions and stances and then move on to the next

The wooden door creeks open

"Theres my little warrior knight ever hard at training, I tell you Meridith, this boy is going to be great."

I turn and see the wooden door open to my mother and father entering the house

My mother (Meridith) rolls her eyes with a smile before responding

"You stop putting your dreams in that boys head, I- Oof"

Her words are cut off by me running and hugging her

"Okay okay settle down I missed you too"

She pats my back

"Want to help me with dinner tonight?"

Vall coughs before responding

"Ah my, back is sore I think I have to-"

Meredith glares at him

"Not you lazy ass."

Before he has the chance to make an excuse and dig himself into a deeper hole I respond

"Of course! What are we making!"

___

'Phew, I am FULL'

As I think that my mother lets out a burp

*Burp*

My father, characteristically brave steps up to the plate

*Buuurp*

As if only playing around with the first one my mother retorts mightily with ferocity

*Buuuuuuuuurp*

My father chuckles

"Okay okay I surrender you win"

We're all smiling and I feel its a good time to ask

"Can I start to learn how to use mana?"

Silence.
