Inside a small lecture hall sat eight people spread out across various benches in the room. On the far side of the room was a desk with five other figures spread out across the back wall, behind the desk were two people, in particular, Netero and Beans. On either side flanking the two were various Hunters including Satoz, Buhara, and Menchi. Though it seemed their participation was mostly useless as the only one who was talking was Beans and even then most of the newly minted Hunters ignored what he was saying for the most part.
'I really wonder how they get these statistics… these I.D's can be sold for enough money to live lavishly seven times over? Or 95% of public amenities and services are free of charge… though now that I think about it the greatest advantage is all the restricted areas or databases you can get access to… wait, do they have anything on Nen? Most likely they only have the basics as they prefer these things to be carried on through word of mouth…' Disregarding that Idea due to the most likely useless information that would be purchased for a large amount of money that I just didn't have currently trashed the idea in its entirety.
'On another note, flipping through this little booklet that came with the I.D gives me some ideas as to where I could go after leaving today. The only thing that is leaving me a bit confused is what type of Hunter to register as… I mean blacklist is the most lucrative one and doubles as training with all the hunting and killing I would be doing there. On the other hand, hunting bounties for the rest of my career doesn't seem the most exciting thing out there…' continuing to flip through the booklet and the various descriptions of different types of Hunters and Debating the ups and downs of each one.
'So you can change your classification at any point for a small service fee but it resets any contributions you have unless it's a special circumstance making promotions harder in the long run… not only that but you lose access and have to return any materials from the exclusive databases and resources of that certain classification of Hunter…' apparently, since the organization was so large there was a bit of compartmentalization between various Hunters forming sub-communities that only gave surface-level information or resources to each other and saving the good stuff for their groups. It was for this reason that you had to be careful with what classification you chose. Though if you really could not find one you were interested in you could always create your own, if you reached one star in another classification for a larger fee you could reset your contributions back to a no-star and create a new classification. However, you would need to start from square one when it comes to connections and resources making it just a bad idea unless you have the drive to make something out of it.
'That's why I need to pick one classification that has benefits not just in the present but in the foreseeable future. So while I could pick Blacklist and get various benefits like a higher priority when picking jobs or more detailed information regarding the underworld or criminals I would find it harder to find information outside of that circle or rather, more exclusive or rare information would be impossible to get unless I had a friend who was involved in that circle of Hunters.' Further deliberating for a while I eventually picked a classification that stood out to me, "Exploration Hunter", a vague title that does not have a specific focus like Ging's "Ruin Hunter" but still has a lot of exclusive benefits. It was closer to a "jack of all trades" than a specialization but that was fine with me as I wished to do many different things in the future. Though one of the things that caught my attention was the greater access to restricted land and waived travel fees compared to other Hunters that sold me on my choice.
*slam* pulling me out of my thoughts was the loud sound of the door to the room being pushed open and a lone figure walked in.
'Oh yeah Gon is here… he was carted out to the Nurse's office next door after our match, I guess I roughed him up a bit because I didn't see him after our initial match until now… especially with all those visible bruises across his body I am surprised he is up and moving.' looking at the kid walk down the aisle and make a B-line for Illumi with a determined expression on his face, knowing what was most likely about to happen I looked on with an amused expression.
"Apologize to Killua." gritting out in an even and stern tone Gon demanded Illumi to apologize for making Killua fail the exams
"Hmm… Apologize? For what?" however, with his upbringing in the Zoldyck family he had the emotional spectrum of a certain facebook owner.
"You don't even understand why!?" outraged by his reply Gon grit his teeth and tightened his fists as his temper began rising.
"Eh?" seemingly confused by his supposed lack of understanding Illumi tilted his head as he continued to stare at Gon.
"You don't have the qualifications to be an older brother." having gotten so angry at this point he wasn't even yelling anymore, instead just 'calmly' speaking as he continued to stare back at Illumi.
"You need qualifications?" somehow not sensing the atmosphere in the room or perhaps just not seeing Gon as any sort of threat Illumi continued to be confused by Gon's anger directed at him and the various stares from the rest of the occupants of the room.
AN: hey everyone, within a couple of chapters this arc will be finished… probably one or two chapters, and it will be done. After that, I will revise probably the first 5 chapters and then continue on from there with the story.
