Chapter 35 - End X of X Arc

AN: reflecting back on it, the end of chapter 30 and the idea of making the MC still lose wasn't the best way of ending the tournament. I just figured that there were a few key points or victories that really characterize Gon and one of the more important ones was during the final exam in my opinion. Though I admit I built up the idea of Magenta winning or wanting to win too much… Also, someone pointed out a slight plothole being the fact that Magenta would have had a second match before Killua ended up killing someone. It was a slip-up and I realize that but I am unsure what to do as that was a couple of chapters back. I am sorry if any of the above was upsetting for any readers but I usually write when I can which isn't that much time… I hope you enjoy the chapter!

'I'm surprised he let Gon fling him around like that, all it would take is a flick of his wrist and Gon is a goner… heh that rhymed.' overlooking the silent confrontation between the two with keen interest after having set down my paperwork on the bench in front of me.

*snap* within an instant Gon crushed Illumi's forearm with a resounding crack. yet, there was no noise after it happened, not even a sharp inhale due to the injury. However, that wasn't too surprising considering who the recipient of the injury was.

"I don't care if you want to or not, I will make you apologize to Killua." trying to pull on the deformed and broken arm of Illumi Gon was set on getting an apology out of the older Zoldyck

"I see, but what will you do afterward?" still unfazed from Gon's demeanor or the broken bones in his arm Illumi asked about Gon's future intentions after getting him to 'apologize' to Killua, a decidedly useless endeavor.

"I'll bring him back." turning away from the door and having momentarily stopped tugging on his arm, Gon faced Illumi as he declared he would get his friend back.

"It makes it sound like I kidnapped someone… he left this place by himself." giving an odd look to the small child that had "befriended" his brother Illumi was at an impasse concerning what to do, being mostly confused during the whole situation.

" No… He didn't want to do any of that, you manipulated him. So much so that we can talk about kidnapping." disregarding Illumi's denial of being involved with Killua's actions and subsequent departure Gon once again tightened his hand around Illumi's arm creating a cracking sound.

'The bones in his arm are going to be turned to dust… not that I care honestly.' taking my time to finish putting away all the signed documents and paperwork into the provided folder I finished up my Hunter registration. Means I could walk out the door right now and be done with all this… but I was enjoying the show a bit too much so I decided to stick around for a while longer.

"Ah… that was a topic on the docket for today, wasn't it? We were going to talk about the circumstances of young Killua's elimination as requested by a few other contestants." Interrupting the awkward staring competition between the two Netero decided to move on to the next topic of discussion.

"Yes, I would like to talk about the unnatural circumstances surrounding Killua during the finals. He wasn't quite himself, his whole demeanor changed within a moment. This changed during the fight with Gitarakur and allows us to propose that he was put under some sort of influence and forced to commit the actions he did. Now, as a rule of thumb Hypnotism or similar techniques cannot make someone do something they are strongly against such as killing someone. However, seeing as Killua doesn't mind Killing we could infer that he was under a similar influence." after the topic of Killua's elimination was brought up, Kurapika immediately stood up and went full lawyer mode.

"Excuse me, but I would also like to add that this all happened in my fight against Pokkle. We could interpret his actions as him coming to help me in the fight… especially considering that guy almost stuck me with one of his arrows. Therefore, the one who should have been disqualified would be me and not Killua." joining in, Leorio also came to Killua's defense. Bringing up the events of his match to strengthen their joint argument.

'Man I really wasn't paying attention during the fight… almost getting shot with an arrow? Ah yeah, weapons were allowed weren't they? Though I didn't see any arrows fired off during the match. Also… wasn't I supposed to have another match!? Did they just skip my match and fail me because I wasn't paying attention? I mean learning to respond to a new name has been troubling…' as my train of thought slowly derailed as I reflected on my lack of participation in the final exams.

"In any case, he wasn't in his right mind when he got disqualified, making it unjust. I hope you can reconsider regarding the situation." pulling me out of my thoughts was Kurapika's closing statement.

"Hoh… I see, but that is all conjecture is it not? You have no proof to back up these claims of yours, there is nothing that can prove he was asked to assist someone or had been hypnotized beforehand." Deciding to put his foot down, Netero picked apart each point of the provided arguments and shut down all counterarguments in the process.

"Tch!" gritting his teeth in anger Leorio snappily sat down and propped his head up on his arm as he glared at the Chairman of the Hunter Association.

"Hmm" slowly going back to his seat with a frown on his face Kurapika closed his eyes seemingly reflecting on the events that just occurred.

"..." Meanwhile, Gon was silent as he stood in the middle of the room alongside Illumi with a slight frown on his face.

'Wow this is a bunch of bullshit… and I thought I was shameless! I mean the chairman probably knows what is going on, I mean I don't remember how exactly the Nen needle knows but I am sure he could have seen the signs of manipulation. Well, voicing any of these complaints will only bring me trouble as more questions start rising as to how I know about Nen or a Zoldyck main family member's Hatsu without being a practitioner myself… yeah I'll keep quiet!' deciding to not investigate where I am unwanted I kept quiet as the meeting slowly began to come to a close.

'After all, as my father used to say: Fuck around, Fuck around, soon you won't be around!' gathering my things I made my way for the door deciding to ignore the continued drama revolving around Killua.
