' Fighting is prohibited in this school regardless of the reason. You are seniors. What you show your juniors is what they would do. What they will not hesitate to exhibit '. She paused as though to let her words sink. ' You are a fresher, newly admitted just yesterday. You should be careful who you mingle with, and who you call friends '. Diva did not need to lift her head to know that she was being referred to.
She heard the Principal sigh. The drowsy sigh forced Diva to raise her head. Was she sick?. She could see her lean back on her seat and graze her forehead with her fingers. It reminded her of those times when she got exasperated by Fred's misbehaviors.
' You three should go for detention after the classes '. The Principal finalized with a weak tone.
' What?. Ma, I was..... '. Diva's had to shut her mouth and cage her refute as she saw the Principal with almost closed eyes.
' Diva, you were seen at the scene of the fight '.
' That does mean, I was involved in it '. She stood her ground not ready to accept everything thrown at her.
' Ma, Diva was not involved. She was just present as were the other students '. Dawin spoke on her behalf but that did nothing to douse Diva's anger towards him or abate the situation at hand. The Principal grazed harder at her forehead where deep lines were now seen.
' The students were not close to the scene, they stood by their seats. Now, listen, another word from any of you, your time in detention will be prolonged. Now, out!!! '. Her angered voice echoed in the room. If she was having a headache, Diva was sure that it will be increased. ' Emma stay '.
Diva and Dawin were already out of the room, Diva walking faster than Dawin when they noticed Emma was not with them- Diva to be precise was piqued as to why he did not follow them out. She had not heard the Principal's last command to Emma and had missed the slight change of tone in her voice.
Back in the Principal's office, the Principal turned with her back facing Emma as she looked through the opened curtains with the sun rays hitting her face.
' I heard you and Eclairs fought yesterday. How is he now? '. The weakness in her voice was still very evident
' He is keeping up '. Emma answered as he washed her every movement. She had leaned deeper into her chair and even with the back of her neck and head seen, her weak movements were captured.
' You don't look well '. He noticed.
The chirping of the bird that perched at the window and the ticking of the clock turned audible in the passing silence.
' I am not well, Emma '. She paused for a while to gaze out of the window. ' The day is becoming very long, every passing minute unbearable '. She sighed aloud and turned around.
' I know but we just have to hold up '. He said as he looked into her red eyes. Her fangs had elongated and claws too and in the blink of an eye she jumped on the table.
' I am running on a thin line. It's been three years. Three years, and you have no news about the girl. How are you sure that witch gave you the right prophecy? '. A growl grew in her chest.
' She didn't only give me a Prophecy, Onyx. She gave me a sign too. A sign to appear on the day the girl arrives in this country. The sign has appeared, shining brighter every day. We will soon have a filled day '.
