At the same time Emma reached his house. Ignoring the gateman's greeting, he walked straight in, past the gardener who was tending to the flowers that arrrayed at the front of the house, through the corridor, up the staircase and into his room. He knew the maids, the cooks and the dry cleaners were lined up there at the corridor, to welcome him, but he was too tired to turn his head or utter a word to acknowledge their greetings. His mind was occupied or rather scattered and right now, he needed time for himself. Time to think and clear his thoughts.
He reached his room and flying his bag aside, he fell, sprawling himself on the king size bed. Arms wide and legs apart, he did not bother to place the pillow beneath his head. A bitter smirk appeared on his face as he reminisced what had happened between him and Eclairs.
The fight, the threat- it was all because of her. Looking at the ceiling, his mind went back to the time, where all four had cornered a freshman. A junior in the senior secondary, two classes down the line. They did not need to beg her to come towards them before she did. She was shying away her dignity to them. They didn't have to interrogate her to know she had a crush on him. It was so evident in her eyes.
It was the break period and they were too thirsty, bloodthirsty to eat anything. So they waited in the hallway, for any prey, mostly females to curb their thirst. And that was when they sighted Adrianna. Their gums itched and fangs elongated but it was safely hidden. Just a little push and their red eyes will give them away to any other student that cross the corridor.
He saw her adjusting her inner shirt and saw how her breasts became rounder, pushing against her shirt, offering herself to them. He saw Roger from the corner of his eyes, drooling. That guy was really a perv. Something within him pitied her.
When she stood before them, Eclairs did the talking, asking her about herself and pulling her deeper into their trap, but one was not enough. One was never enough. Her name was Adrianna. The girl had proudly announced to them.
They commanded her to call her friends. But she was hesitant and the slight annoyance that appeared on her face made him chuckle. He could sense the anger from her as she thought she was being neglected while her friends were called upon. She didn't want to call her friends so whatever left her lips next, Emma knew it was a lie.
'I don't have friends'. She said, looking straight at them. He saw Marvin turn his head to the side. He was trying to supress the laughter that was in his larynx. In the end it was a muffled laughter.
'You are beautiful and we still want you, but you are not just enough. We need more beautiful girls like you. Come with them alongside your notebooks'. Eclairs who seemed to notice the hesitance also, spoke to her.
The girl gingerly walked away from them, confused as to why their notebooks will be needed.
'To think that she thought we would be roaming her body with our fingers'. Marvin spat and turned to pick up the sachet of fruit drink from his pocket. When he brought it out, he saw his three friends looking at him- not him, but the packaged juice in his hands. Everyone wanted to drink something now to reduce the thirst while waiting patiently for the girl to come back.
He searched in his suit inner pocket and brought out three more sachet. They didn't wait for him to share it, before snatching it from his hand.
