Jane felt angry. Her blood boiled and she gritted her teeth in anger 'This fool doesn't even have my time!' Was the expression on her face. She clenched her hands and lowered her eyes.
She then raised her head again as if to see if she had seen it wrongly earlier but it was still the same. Lucian's gaze was still focused on me.
"Lucian...." She called slowly as her eyes were already moist with tears.
But Lucian refused to avert his gaze from my face like I'd disappear if he did that.
Jane gripped her skirt and almost rip it off. She looked at Lucian one last time and stormed out of the class.
It was only then that Lucian smiled and walked closer to me. He waved at me while revealing his white perfect teeth. His smile was mind-blowing!
"Hi, Mabel!" He said.
"Hi, Lucian!" I replied and matched him up with my own charming smile. If his smile was mind-blowing then mine was fucking breathtaking!
"What are you up to?" He asked me.
"Nothing. I was only writing but I'm done." I replied to him.
"Wow! How about we eat lunch together today? If you don't mind."
Wow! Eat together?! Really?? Me?? I was so happy. He wants me to eat together with him!!! I jumped up and down in my heart but I kept a composed look on my face.
I won't let him know how much I liked him as that would only complicate the matter.
"Ah Yes! I don't mind." I replied.
"Ok... shall we?" He held my hand and we both left the class like a couple.
"Are those dating?"
"Oh, they must be dating!"
"No wonder Jane was so flared up then."
"She must have a crush on Lucian and seeing that Lucian is dating someone prettier than she must have rubbed her in the wrong spot."
"Oh, Jane is such a bitch to have to want to come between this perfect couple."
It begins a murmur but it later turned into a group discussion and I felt shy and embarrassed.
We weren't even dating! He had not even asked me out and that was the first time we really talked and yet, everyone already believed we were a couple.
"Don't mind them. Let's just go and eat," he whispered into my ear. His breath was so warm that my whole body became hot at that moment. I was tensed and I could only nod without saying anything while he kept his charming smile plastered on his face.

It's been a while since Lucian and I started our friendship and we were already very close but he was yet to ask me out.
"Mabel, why don't you ask him out instead?" My friends kept advising me to tell him I liked him but it really wasn't my thing.
Our dinner party was just a week to go and everyone was already choosing their partner. So many guys had come to me to choose me but I had turned them because I wanted Lucian to choose me which he was yet to do.
We all knew Jane had a plan she was going to execute on that dinner night so as to win Lucian back. But none of us knew what it was and to be honest, it scared me.
I was deep in my thought outside the class one day when Lucian nudged me on my shoulder "What are you thinking about?" He asked me while he stretched my hair.
"Nothing much. I was only thinking about what cloth to wear on dinner night."
"Do you have a partner already?" He asked me.
"No. Not yet." I replied
"Everyone already has a partner. Why don't you have one yet?"
The question hit me hard and I felt disappointed but I didn't let it show on my face at all.
"Do you have a partner too?" I didn't know how to reply to him so I decided to return his question with another question.
He smiled and said "No. I didn't have one yet."
"Wow! Everyone already has a partner. Why don't you have one yet? Are you planning to remain single that day?" I asked with the same tone with which he asked me earlier and he laughed.
"Well... It was because I had been busy with the night preparation. You know I am the coordinator of the event and I had a lot to do." He said and paused. Then, turned to face me "But, now I'm done and I'm ready to choose a partner," he said.
My heart skipped and I was nervous
'Will he choose Jane? He only sees me as a friend. He doesn't even have an idea I like him. Who will he choose?' I asked numerous questions in my mind.
"So... Who are you going to choose?" I asked him.
