Mabel went home that day to inform her two friends who were staying with her for some days. She was beaming with a smile and happiness throughout the drive home that the driver had no choice but to ask her why she was so happy.
"You seem so happy, Miss. Good News?" Asked the driver dotingly.
He was a taxi driver and a man in his early forties. The way he talked with Mabel made it obvious he had a daughter of Mabel's age at home as his tone was more like a father speaking to his daughter.
Mabel smiled softly "It's nothing, Mister. I just heard some good news today and I'm so happy about it." She replied and the man nodded with a smile too.
"That's superb!" Replied the man as he focused back on his driving.
"Hey! Collect your change! Wait!" The driver shouted at the retreating back of Mabel as she ran away.
