It was 30th of December a cold and chilly day with small rays of sun coming from the beautiful clouds . It was peaceful that day , In the weather report it was reported to have heavy snowfall today. New year was almost there every house on the streets were beautifully decorated and people were really happy . Everyone hoped for a better year since last year was very difficult for everyone cause of corona virus.
As for the Typhoon was no where to be found detectives and police were continuously looking for them. Due to holidays Kia and Felix were free and were spending a lot of time together . They got well with each other and were hoping for a great friendship to start with 2022. Both of them sitting in their secret place library which was a small library run by Kia's relative , it was a beautiful place it had lamps , windows , pretty decorations which Kia and Felix decorated together , so many books and most important free wifi .
Kia said , " Ahh its cold right ,this year better be good."
While giggling Felix replied , " Yep you're right its cold , Don't worry this will be better I can feel it . So don't overthink its new year be happy."
Kia said , " You're right for first time." Felix said , " I'm always right ." Felix and Kia hanged out together and then went home cause of the bad weather.
LATER THAT NIGHT
Felix mother didn't returned home . His dad was also not at home , when asked where he is Captain James said he is on his way but didn't knew where his mother was.
Felix called his dad and said , " Where is mom ? I cant reach her . Is she with you ? You must know where she is you guys work together .
James replied and said , " I don't know and what you mean you cant reach her its pretty cold outside and the weather is getting worse. Even if we work together we have different jobs and she has a partner everyone in the team has it ask him . I'm hanging up I'm driving."
Felix said , " What why are you hanging up." And then his dad hung up the phone.
Felix tried calling his moms partner but his phone was unreachable . AFTER SOME TIME his dad came home and was surprised Ruby was not at home . They called everyone they knew but his mother was no where to be found. Felix was about to head out in order to search for his mom but his dad stopped him cause it was heavily snowing outside and said ,
" Don't worry your mom must be with some friends drunk outside you know how she is . We will find her tomorrow don't worry son and go sleep."
Felix said , " okay." And went to his bed he told this to Kia and she said same thing to not worry and
" She must still be in office sleeping since she is working hard or maybe just like your dad said she must be drunk so don't worry and sleep ."
Felix was thankful to Kia since she comforted him but worryingly he went to sleep.
NEXT DAY came and Captain James looked everywhere he could , Kia and Felix also helped looking for her. But Detective Ruby and his partner Detective Charles was no where to be found . After 18 hours of her missing she was reported as a missing and everyone was looking for her everywhere. Her office , her home , her drinking place , park , restaurants she liked , her high school , college and even a club she used to go but there was no trace of her same goes to the partner he was also no where to be found . Both of them vanished in the cold winds with dry leaves. Not even a single trace and nobody had seen them. Police , Her team and Captain James were worried to death. Two team mates suddenly disappeared at night and there was no calls were made. On the other hand Felix was wandering like crazy with Kia to find his mom. It had been 10 hours since they were searching for her it was 9:00 pm of night Felix was sitting on the park bench and shouted ,
" I knew something was wrong last night when I said why mom isn't home yet but you and dad suggested me not to do anything . If I had searched for her then she wouldn't be missing now ."
Kia said , " Me and your dad only said what we thought was true neither me , you or Mr James would have known something like this would happen to aunt Ruby okay so don't blame on me . I'm trying to help you search for her since morning . Its my new year too but I'm helping you cause you are my friend and I'm worried."
Felix said , " You're worried about me ? I'm sorry that I'm acting like this you know I'm worried too I feel like something happened to her"
Kia said , " Only thing we can do is hope nothing else lets eat something and see what we can do but later"
NEXT DAY ( NEW YEAR )
It was 1st of January a new start a new journey a new year . Everyone was happy and celebrating New year but Felix and his dad had the worst new year . The new year that would change their life. The day their worst fears will come true , the day darkness will take over many peoples mind . The day it will be empty.
On 1st January 2022 06:00 am , a call was made to the police station stating a car has been found on the side cliff of a mountain . The car was upside down and there were 2 people inside the car , one of them on drivers seat were dead due to broken neck and severe injuries on the back of the head , other person was alive but also had severe injuries on the head and chances of survival was low . The woman was presumed to be in her late 30s who was on the drivers seat while on the passengers seat it was a man in her mid 40s . Without hesitation when Captain James heard that news he head to the mountain straight from his home with Felix . On their way , the identity of the woman and the man had been identified , The woman was actually Detective Ruby with his partner Detective Charles. Rescue team had already been reached Detective Charles was taken to the hospital . When they reached , Every officer tried to stop Captain James and he was devastated by the news he didn't said anything just kept quiet while tears ran down his face.
On the other hand Felix was crying out loud he was shouting he couldn't believe the mother he adored who was his everything the mother who he loved so much was dead miserably He said ,
" Mom wake up why do you have to die like that MOM WAKE UP I'M HERE your son is here I'm FELIX I'm here mom don't worry everything will be okay ."
His dad said while crying " She is dead son my wife your mother our life a beautiful daughter , sister is dead ."
Felix without having control said " Its all cause of you dad if you hadn't stopped me if you looked out for mum carefully this would not have happened ."
His dad was about to hit him but was stopped by the officers. Detective Ruby's lifeless body filled with blood which turned blue due to cold were taken to the morgue (place used for the storage of human corpses awaiting identification ID, removal for autopsy, respectful burial, cremation or other methods of disposal) . While Detective Charles was still in surgery his chances of survival were low . Captain James were going back and forth and back and forth from the waiting room where Detective Charles surgery was being held to the morgue where his wife was dead and to check on Felix if he was okay . Not only Captain lost his wife who was also his teammate he was going to lose another team member , as a captain he had to maintain some hope for his other team members , for Detective Charles and for his son who was just 19 at that time and lost his mother and a best friend .
Shortly after Kia arrived after she heard news she remained with Felix while both of them didn't said a word . After 5 hours of surgery doctor said that Detective Charles went into coma and was kept under surveillance . But doctor said there was something suspicious as the back of head injury was too weird to be called as an accident.
They said , " captain I think something is weird the condition he was found in the head injury and his body has some other bruises too it looks like he had been beaten by a blunt object that too several times which makes it odd since it was an accident ."
Captain said , " Doc are you trying to say it could be a murder ?" Doctor nodded in yes and said a postmortem would be needed on the other body of Detective which was found in order to see if this is true or not . While both of them were having this secret conversation Felix heard them and Kia too .
Eyes of Felix met the doctors and His dad eyes out of control he shouted , " WTF DO YOU MEAN DOCTOR ?? YOU MEAN MY MOTHER AND DETECTIVE CHARLES WERE MURDERED AND THEN IT WAS STAGED AS AN ACCIDENT ."
Cap said , " Felix stop shouting and yess it might be true don't worry I will do everything in order to find out what happened to them ."
Felix said , " You better find it dad or I have to take things in my own hand ."
