"Wait, what do you mean by there is no Angel of Lies here?" Keira asked with the most incredulous tone she could ever muster.
"It means exactly as it sounds," Mr. Wrinkler's high-pitched voice was flat and void of any tone that could be associated with joking.
Nevertheless, everything that he said sounded like a joke to her. In particular, this last bit of sentence.
"How could you say this library no longer had Angel of Lie when it previously had?" Keira hunted for an answer. She would not back down without proper explanation.
From the periphery of her eyes, she saw Nate nod enthusiastically, agreeing with her.
"That is the keyword – previously. We no longer have it." Mr. Wrinkler said vehemently.
"But, I look in the internet and read that some guys talk that the book is here."
"How long ago was that, Miss Hawkins?"
Keira bit her lip, finding her fault. "A few years ago, sir."
"Exactly."
