As Emma and Elora walked through the village, the air was tense with palpable anxiety. The two young women had embraced their Yandere tendencies and were no longer the kind and gentle heroines they had once been. Anyone who got in their way would face their wrath.
"Excuse me, have you seen a man with black hair and black eyes?" Emma asked a passerby, her voice dripping with an icy politeness that belied her dangerous intentions.
The villager looked nervously at her and stammered a reply. "I haven't seen anyone like that around here."
Emma's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Are you sure about that?" she hissed, leaning in closer to the villager. "Because if you're lying to me, I'll make you regret it."
Elora quickly stepped in, pulling Emma away from the villager. "Emma, calm down," she said, her voice laced with a mixture of concern and amusement. "We don't want to cause a scene."
Emma huffed but allowed Elora to lead her away. She knew her behavior was becoming more and more erratic, but she couldn't help it. Adriel was everything to her, and she wasn't going to let anyone get in the way of their love.
As they continued their search for Adriel, Emma's grip on reality began to slip. She started to see threats everywhere, and her Yandere tendencies only grew stronger with each passing moment.
"Where is he?" she muttered under her breath, her eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of Adriel. "If anyone has hurt him, I'll make them pay."
Elora did her best to keep Emma in check, but she knew it was only a matter of time before things spiraled out of control. The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife, and the villagers were starting to take notice of the two girls' increasingly erratic behavior.
As they turned a corner, Emma suddenly froze. There, in the distance, was a figure with black hair and black eyes. Her heart raced as she broke into a sprint, her Yandere instincts taking over completely.
"Adriel!" she cried out, her voice filled with both relief and desperation.
But as she drew closer, she realized something was off. The man in front of her had the same hair and eyes as Adriel, but he was somehow different. His eyes were cold and calculating, and his smile sent shivers down Emma's spine.
"Welcome to our village, heroines," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I've been waiting for you."
Emma couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the NPCs that resembled Adriel. Though they had the same black hair and eyes, everything else was different. His height was slightly shorter, his hair was styled differently, and many other details that only a passionate woman like Emma and Elora would notice.
"I don't want to be a hero, get out of here," Emma said dismissively to the NPC.
Without wasting any time, she stormed off to find Adriel, with Elora following behind like a lost puppy.
"Calm down, heroines; my name is Adrien, and you were summoned to defeat the Demon King. Please come with me," the boy tried to make an appeal.
"Ugh, even his name is a cheap imitation of Adriel's; who did that?" Emma muttered to herself, ignoring the NPC's plea. She turned to Elora, the game's programmer, for answers.
"Don't look at me," Elora said immediately. "I did as agreed. Someone sabotaged our plan."
Elora had come up with a brilliant plan to get Adriel's attention: they would play a game called "The Demon King Returns," where they would be the princesses in distress and Adriel would swoop in to save them. Elora even used a spell to manipulate time within the game, but something had gone wrong. After logging in and entering the game, Adriel was nowhere to be found.
Emma and Elora were determined to find their man, even if it meant going to the ends of the earth, or in this case, the end of the game.
Adrien, or as they called him, the "budget Adriel," desperately tried to get Emma and Elora's attention, but they were not interested. They only had eyes for the real Adriel.
"I heard that Adriel is with the Demon King," Adrien exclaimed, hoping to pique their interest.
"Really?" Emma and Elora were suddenly all ears.
"Really?" the townspeople echoed, hoping for some gossip to spice up their mundane lives.
"I mean, it's not like you even knew who Adriel was until a moment ago," a random citizen pointed out, but Adrien, the budget Adriel, cut him off.
Adrien was quick enough to stop the citizen before they put an end to his plan to get the heroines' attention. Emma and Elora were already on edge, ready to pounce on anyone who dared to threaten their chances with Adriel.
"Come on, I'll show you the report," Adrien said, doing his best not to let them know he was lying. Emma and Elora followed him closely, their eyes scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger. Adrien knew that if they found out about his lie, he wouldn't live to see tomorrow.
As they entered the guild, Adrien led them over to a series of paintings depicting various demon kings. "These are the..." he began, but Emma cut him off with a sharp point of her finger.
"That's our Adriel," she declared, pointing to a painting of the Demon King of the South. Adrien tried to hide his surprise and confusion.
