Chapter 17 - Chap 17 – The Battle for Adriel: Elizabeth’s Unstoppable Resolve

Elizabeth, still fuming with anger, watched as Issei disappeared into thin air. She sighed, feeling a sense of relief that her mission was finally over. She turned to Alexia, who was still standing behind her.

"Let's get out of here before someone catches us," Elizabeth said, trying to regain her composure.

Alexia nodded in agreement and followed Elizabeth out of the principal's office. They made their way back to the school corridor, which was now in complete chaos.

Silence filled the room as Elizabeth sat there lost in thought, her mind consumed with worry for Adriel's safety. She couldn't bear the thought of losing him, not after everything they had been through together. Adriel was her everything, and she would do anything to protect him.

"Ma'am," the soldier from Elizabeth said as he arrived, his movements rigid and disciplined. His gaze was fixed ahead, his face an unreadable mask.

"The cleaning crew is coming," he announced, his tone devoid of any emotion.

Elizabeth barely registered his presence, lost in her thoughts as she stared out the window. She knew that the soldier standing before her had once been a loyal and skilled fighter, but now his mind had been twisted and molded to her will.

"Fine, do your job," she replied, her voice laced with a hint of impatience. She turned away from the window and faced the soldier, her eyes searching his face for any sign of disobedience.

Alexia's tone was serious as she addressed Elizabeth. "I understand why the government gave a pass to Elora, Emma, Seda, and the rest of your class. They didn't do anything too heinous. But you, Liz, kidnapped and brainwashed people. How did you manage to do that?"

Elizabeth responded in a chilling voice, "It's simple. If you have leverage over the government, they'll do whatever you ask of them."

Alexia's eyes widened with understanding as she said, "I see." She knew exactly what Elizabeth was talking about because she had pulled some strings to get Makoto into the "Attribute Control Bureau" (ACB) despite his criminal record.

Suddenly, a loud alarm beeped from Elizabeth's phone, causing her to freeze in her tracks. The alarm indicated that someone was about to kiss Adriel, which was the worst thing that could happen to him.

Without hesitation, Elizabeth sprinted toward the location of Adriel's tracker, leaving Alexia behind. Alexia, on the other hand, chased after Makoto to ensure that he was safe.

Meanwhile, I was so engrossed in our mission to defeat Issei that I didn't even notice when Adriel disappeared. It couldn't be a coincidence. Someone had tampered with his tracker, but I had no idea who.

Elizabeth ran as fast as she could, her mind racing with thoughts of who could have gotten to Adriel and what they were planning to do to him. She had to reach him before it was too late.

As Elizabeth made her way down the dimly lit hallway, the air grew thick with a sense of unease. The only sound was the faint hum of the robots' circuits as they stood motionless, blocking her path.

The closer she got to the robots, the more she could see their cold, metallic frames and glowing red eyes. The sight could give anyone the creeps, but that didn't happen to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was known for her fearlessness, and her resolve only grew stronger when it came to protecting Adriel. Her sole focus was finding him at all costs. "That must be Elora; she must be behind this," she said to herself, her voice quivering slightly.

Without a second thought, Elizabeth charged toward the robots, fists clenched tightly. "Get out of my way!" she yelled, her voice echoing through the empty hallway.

As she got closer, the robots sprang to life, their arms transforming into menacing weapons. But Elizabeth didn't falter, launching herself at the first robot with fierce determination.

"You won't stop me!" she screamed, her fists connecting with the robot's metallic body. The impact sent a shockwave through Elizabeth's arms, but she didn't let up, continuing to strike the machine with all her might.

The other robots joined the fray, their weapons swinging wildly as they closed in on Elizabeth. But she was ready for them, dodging and weaving through their attacks with fluid grace.

"Is that all you've got?" She taunted, her voice laced with a hint of madness. "Come on, give me everything you've got!"

With each blow, Elizabeth felt a thrill of adrenaline coursing through her veins. It was a dangerous game, but she couldn't help but revel in the rush of combat.

Finally, the last robot fell, its circuits sparking and sputtering as Elizabeth stood over it triumphantly. "Nothing can stop me," she muttered, a hint of mania in her voice.

Before Elizabeth could leave and continue her search for Adriel, she was confronted by a towering robot, easily twice her size. Its metallic frame creaked and groaned as it slowly lumbered towards her, its glowing red eyes fixed upon her. Elizabeth's heart raced with fear and excitement, knowing that this was no ordinary robot.

She sneered at the machine: "You think you can stop me with that old piece of junk?" Her voice dripped with disdain and arrogance as she stared up at the towering machine with a wicked smile. She knew she had to get to Adriel before Elora could kiss him.

As the robot started to move, Elizabeth braced herself for a fight, but before she could even react, the giant machine was crushed with an ear-shattering crunch. Shocked and confused, she turned to face the source of the attack.

"That little thing, she will pay for arresting me," a voice snarled. She spun around to find a girl with curly red hair and piercing green eyes. Despite her innocent appearance, there was something deeply unsettling about her.

"Emma," Elizabeth said with a hint of caution in her voice. "What are you doing here?"
