The old man walked up to Mother Zhu and Zhu Feng and smiled. "What can I do for you?" Mother Zhu looked a bit worried. "W-well my daughter is getting married soon so I would like a dress fit to see her fiancé But we only have a few silver..." The old mans eyes drifted to Zhu Feng. "She's old enough to be married?" Mother Zhu laughed half heartedly. "We don't have a very good family situation and so I haven't been able to take good care of her..." The old man looked at his granddaughter. She was already eight this year but still only looked about five or six. A sad look came over his eyes. He knew what they were going through and then an idea flashed through his mind. "I have some fabric here that none of the young misses and madams liked. If you don't mind I'll make a dress for you out of that fabric." He went and pulled the fabric out and showed it to Zhu Feng. It was a bright red with silver threads making a phoenix. She couldn't understand why the young misses wouldn't like this. "I love it. Its gorgeous but I don't think I could afford it if you were to make me a dress." Zhu Feng the fabric and could tell it was of decent quality. She was absolutely in love with it. The old man looked at the sparkle in her eyes and knew he had made the right choice. "Ahhh It's no issue. The missus don't like it so its no harm done. Besides it was given to me by an old friend." As he said this he was already measuring Zhu Feng and had almost finished the dress without her realizing.
She was standing there watching him absently as he slowly turned the bolt of fabric into the most amazing outer coat. She fell in love with it even more as she saw that the dress coming together. The dress was just an outer coat but then he made an inner coat as well. The dresses of this time had three layers. In the matter of an hour he had made both an inner coat and an outer coat. He delivered the rest of the fabric to Mother Zhu. "Here take this back and make some wedding gifts." He winked at mother Zhu and she blushed. Zhu Feng just shook her head. The old man handed her the dresses. "Please at least take a tael." Mother Zhu took out a silver tael and tried to hand it to the old man. "No. No its okay really I don't need it. I told you this fabric was just taking up space and gathering up dust." He looked a bit sad as he spoke. An old friend of mine gave me this as a gift when my wife and I had our daughter. Sadly soon after she had little bean she was taken away. I simply cant let the fabric go to waste. So you are doing me a favor letting the young miss wear it." He looked at Zhu Feng again. "Young miss I would like to use you to promote and make connections. I feel that you will do great things." If my daughter sees this dress she will know that We are still alive...maybe she will come home." The old man wiped his tears away. Mother Zhu looked at her daughter. Zhu Feng took the three silvers they had.
She went over to the little girl and squatted down. "Little miss bean, Will you take these and buy food for grandfather? He is really sad and could use some good food. You must take grandfather with you when you shop and also get some new blankets and mattresses. if you have any left over get some coal for your stove." The little girl looked at Zhu Feng's hand which held the silver. Never in her life had she seen so much silver. "Big sister is this really for Grandfather and little bean?" Zhu Feng handed her the silver. "Of course it is. But Grandfather did not want to take it from big sister so she had to give it to you. You are the little miss of the shop you know. you must take good care of Grandfather. " With that she stood up and walked out of the shop with her mother.
"Feng'er what will we do now? I don't have anymore silver?" Zhu Feng smiled "Mother while we were talking to that Grandfather i felt something on my arm." She pulled her sleeve back to show a beautiful lotus birthmark. It matched the one in the middle of her forehead. They had only appeared when Zhu Feng took over the hosts body. Mother Zhu looked confused " Feng'er, how is a birthmark supposed to help us?" Zhu Feng shook her head. "It's not the birthmark mother. Its whats inside." Making sure no one was around she held her mothers hand and entered into the space she had just found. When they entered the space what greeted them was a beautiful open field. There was a gorgeous courtyard and a small shed. There was also a place for livestock and an orchard. Mother Zhu's eyes grew wide. Since she had been here for a while she knew about some things. This was one of them. There was a legend going around that two souls that had traveled through time together for their love would be able to open a ripple space. This space was a shared space between the lovers. However, this did not seem like the shared space. This seemed like it was made just for Zhu Feng.
Zhu Feng looked around more. When she had come here earlier she had been given information on the space. As long as she wished for it it would appear. But there was a price. Whenever she wished for something she had to complete a quest. She had decided what her first wish would be. She turned to her mother, her eyes shown.
