Alexa looked at the producer before getting down from the chair opening the door a little bit at first, peeking inside. "Hello there," a voice called out, which drew Alexa's attention to the center of the room. The boy, apparently named Bretton, pulled off his headphones hanging them on the mic before walking over to her. Alexa pushed the door the rest of the way open and smiled, holding out her hand."Hi, I just wanted to say that I like your voice... and your song is amazing, what language was that?" She spoke out, looking around the room fascinated.
Bretton smiled and took her hand shaking it. "Thank you; it was Korean… You look very distracted. First time in a studio?" He asked, tilting his head. Alexa agreed with a head nod, which made Bretton smile more. He stepped to the side and held up his arm, "Go check it out." Alexa looked at him. "It's okay; I don't want to bother you," She said with a smile. Bretton knew who she was, but being the son of two famous artists, he knew if anything she would want to be treated normal instead of like the "boss's daughter."
Bretton grabbed her shoulders, guiding her to the piano, just behind the mic stand. He sat her down on the piano bench, before going to the mic stand. He grabbed the music sheets from the podium and walked to the piano, sitting next to her.
Softly placing the music sheets on the piano, Bretton's fingers glided across the keys. The melody was the same as what he was singing earlier, but there was something the piano did that made it more unique and beautiful. Bretton looked at Alexa as she stared at his hands in amazement. He stopped for a second looking at her in question, "Do you sing?" Alexa looked at him and shook her head at first but stopped. "I-- I mean I do... Sort of, My mom taught me a little," She hesitated lightly looking over his sheets of music.
Alexa lifted a finger touching a few keys she could read from his sheets, but it was too choppy. "She taught you piano too?" He asked with a smirk. Alexa nodded," Yea. She liked the piano a lot. I am still not good at it." Alexa dropped her hands in a defeated state. Bretton shrugged lightly," All it takes is practice. It's good knowing a little bit about the piano. It helps with learning pitch when singing." He smiled and pointed to the sheet. "I'll sing the first verse and the chorus so that you can get the flow of the song. You start with the second verse, okay?" He smiled as he spoke.
Alexa blinked looking at him. "I don't know Korean though." This made Bretton think for a second. He took the pencil off the piano and wrote the lyrics in English quickly. "There, you can do your parts in English."
Before Alexa could reject, Bretton began playing the pop/ballad-like melody once more. He played the intro slowly letting his voice slide in when the verse started. Alexa closed her eyes taking in the tune of the song. Bretton's voice was very charming and smooth. Very impressive, for his age. Alexa opened her eyes to look at him. She couldn't help but be a little flustered as her heart rate quickened.
When the second verse started, Alexa began to sing with Bretton's melody. Bretton was half surprised at how developed her voice was. When they got to the chorus again, Bretton stopped. "Lift your head and sit straight. For the chorus, why don't you go a little higher, Like this," He said, making his pitch a bit higher. Alexa blinked, nodding as she did as he stated. Alexa lifted her pitch to match the one he demonstrated. Bretton nodded, "Yeah! Like that. You have great pitch."
Bretton readied himself again, placing his hands on the keys. Alexa listened, coming in on the queue. This time when they got to the chorus, Alexa raised her pitch as instructed. Bretton added his vocals in English with a lower tone, but with perfect harmony.
Naomi walked through the studio door. "A--," She was cut off with a quick shh. Naomi blinked and looked over to the producer before stepping closer to look into the sound booth. Naomi almost melted on the inside at the site. Not only was it completely adorable, but the sound of their voices were amazing together. Naomi sat down in the chair next to the producer pulling out her phone to record the event. She looked over at the producer. "Hey Jason, isn't that Bretton Choi? I thought he didn't like people." She half asked before she pushed the record button.
Jason, the producer, just shrugged his arms and smirked watching them. When they finished the song, Bretton smiled, holding up a hand to give Alexa a high five. Alexa couldn't help but smile back as she smacked hands with Bretton. "I wanna learn Korean now, it's pretty" Bretton smiled big and patted her head. Naomi stood up from her seat walking to the sound booth door, "Alexa! We should go now." She smiled at the two, motioning for Alexa to come on.
