Chapter 16 - Chapter Sixteen

NORMAN'S POV

"Were you able to get your hands on anything concerning my mother?"

I asked them. As I told my Beta and Sean to look into my mother's reason for selling the slaves.

"Well no, but we suspected she and Mr Alonzo have a hidden secret between them."

Sean said. As they suspect something was fishy during the party.

"We noticed your mother and Mr Alonzo seriously arguing inside the party hall when he was about leaving with the slave he bought, though they didn't make it too obvious."

Steve explained more on why they suspected them.

"I also heard they have been friends from their childhood."

Sean said as he enlightened is more on their findings

"Alright, that's a good start. If anyone knows something about her then it should be Mr Alonzo. So I want you to put more interest and find out more details on the two of them."

I said to them as they left. I went back to my chamber. I was a bit happy as the plan was going on well.

By nightfall, I needed to lift the borden in me. I still felt some how empty inside after I saw the slave earlier. The pain I felt then was still lingering around my heavy. I don't know what it was but I had a feeling I have lost something.

But then I knew I never lost anything. So I don't understand why I'm feeling this way. I felt restless and I needed to free myself.

I walked down from the corridor then to the front door and to my surprise I bumped into my mother in the sitting room.

"Mother! What are you doing down here by this time of the night? Why aren't you sleeping? Is everything alright?"

She was restless as she was roaming around the sitting room and never noticed me until I bumped into her. She also looked shocked.

"I'm alright son, I just couldn't sleep so I decided to come down and walk around before returning to bed."

She lied to cover her worries, but I can't be fooled. I knew something was fishy. May it was the argument she had with her friend Alonzo.

"Son, where are you off to by this time."

She asked worriedly as she never saw me left the house by that time of the night.

"I wanted to walk on some issues they brought in by the day. You know I like quietness when working. I came down here but I never knew you were already here."

I lied too as I tried to make it sound real.

"Is alright son I was actually going back to bed when you came down, so you can do your work now. Goodnight son."

She said as she saw me trying to return back inside so she thought I was going back as she was already there. I watched her went back to her room while I slowly went out.

"Whatever the issue may be, I will soon find out."

I said lowly to myself as I dashed into the woods

As usual I ran into the woods feeling the breeze hitting my fur as I ran deeper into the woods. All the wild animals close to my way had to run for their lives due to the gravity I pulled with my speed while passing them.

I went to my exact spot on the hill of the mountain and howled to release my pain to the darkness of the night.

As usual I waited to hear the voice of my mystery humming girl but I never did. I continued waiting patiently to hear her calming hum that always filled the lonely space in my heart but all seems to be a waist of time. I stayed on the hill till dawn and still didn't hear her.

I was so angry through out the day. During the council meeting I wasn't concentrating and my anger was gradually raising that I unconsciously yeld at my council members. They all stood there dumb founded and scared. I have never reacted like that even in a crucial condition.

I only realized the effect of my attitude on them through their expression.

"The meeting is dismissed."

I quickly conluded without adding anything to their suggestion. Murmuring could be heard amongst them but I never minded any of them as I passed between them and left them behind.

My Beta followed immediately I left.

"My king, are you alright?"

He asked as he was being concerned about me but I never uttered a word to him.

*****LORRAINE'S POV*****

My new master's castle were not too far from Alpha Norman's. Weeks has passed by and I haven't heard the howl from the strange werewolf that howls every midnight. I heard him howl only the first night I left the Alpha's castle.

I waited for almost a week to hear his howl but I would retire disappointed to my bed. I have missed the howl that I couldn't sleep once it's time for him to howl but I still I won't hear him howl. I don't know if he hadn't been howling since I left the castle or perhaps my distance stops me from hearing him.

My night had became sadder as more loneliness engulfed me as days pass by without hearing him. The howl always amends my broken heart and gives me hope to fight back.

My new home had been like a dream come true. The chain around my legs had been released, the chain that the sound always reminded me of my pains, the shaggy clothes that was unremovable was thrown away as I was given a better clothes.

I have been snicking out of the castle to meet with my pack members who were able to escape from Alpha Norman's invention against my pack, Derek's pack.

I was able to get hold of some of them which I gathered and told them my plan. They were all excited about taking revenge against Alpha Norman for what he and his mother did to our family.

From that day we started making plans on how to get the remaining pack members who escaped to different places together. They gathered and we started making plans on how to strick the Alpha Norman's pack.

From time to time I came back and wished to hear the howl of the werewolf that consoled my pained heart but I will not hear the howl. I felt lonely even though I haven't met him. I felt like fate had taken the best of me for not giving me the only thing that calms my suffering heart.

I don't know how long I will last without the howl. I have been inflicted with emotional suffering. My wolf started reappearing now that I was being freed from my hell of a life back in the Alpha's castle.

"Welcome back, Emma."
