Chapter 7 - Chapter 6 - All of them?!

"Wait, I'm sorry, I must have heard it wrong. Can you please repeat what you just said?"

"Response. The elements that you have an affinity with are all of them."

"What?!" I shouted, I mean who wouldn't be surprised?!

I don't know how rare this is but it should be pretty rare, right? And if I do have an affinity to every single element then doesn't that mean I can use all of them?

Eh? Isn't that way too broken though? I mean I don't know what affinities my older siblings have but from what I saw, even my older brother, who I assume has only one elemental affinity which was fire, was already strong enough to cause massive bursts of flames every swing. Plus my older sister also used multiple types of magic with different elements and it was already pretty strong.

Isn't this a bit too unfair? I mean sure I am a reincarnated person but still, to be able to use every single element is something that other people can't do, right?

"Negative. While it is true that having multiple elemental affinities makes you stronger and are considerably rarer the more elemental affinity you have, the belief of someone not being able to use elements that they don't have an affinity with is completely wrong. Any being can use any type of elemental magic as long as they have sufficient magicules, knowledge, and control to use it."

"Affinity, in this world's definition, indicates one's strongest type of elemental magic that one can use. This means if one has the elemental affinity of fire, they would have a higher proficiency and power in fire-type magic and abilities than those who don't have an affinity to it."

"All types of elemental magic can be grouped into types: Fire, Water, Light, Dark, Spirit, Shadow, Nature, Null, Air, Sound, Earth, Ice, Metal, Lightning, and Normal. Each type has its own sub-type of magic, an example would be [Solar Magic] which is a sub-type under Fire. One can either have an affinity with the main types or the sub-types of elemental magic."

"The key differences between having a main type or sub-type are that having an affinity with a main elemental type means you have significantly more proficiency and power with that element and all of its sub-types, but it doesn't mean you have an affinity with its sub-types, you are only have that affinity in that main type of element, the main type will more powerful and its sub-types is only somewhat stronger than not having an affinity with it. However, if you have an affinity with a sub-type, you have more proficiency and power in that single sub-type only, but despite lacking in diversity, it does make up by being a lot stronger than having an affinity with a main elemental type, the only downside is that it only has that affinity with one sub-type and all other sub-types related to it won't be stronger."

So in summary, anybody can just use any elemental magic as long they have enough magicules and other requirements, right?

"Affirmative. It is as you said."

And from what I understand, am I allowed to assume that this is the hierarchy of elemental magic from weakest to strongest depending on which you have an affinity or not: Not having an affinity with the element < Sub-types of the main element you have an affinity with < Main type of elemental magic < Affinity with a sub-type element, am I right?

"Affirmative. Also, to clarify what I stated earlier, you have an affinity with every single element which includes all of the main types of elemental magic and all sub-types there is."

Wait, what?! So when it meant everything, it literally meant everything?! Including all of the subtypes? That's too broken. I mean it pretty much means that I have the most potential when it comes to magic than anybody in the world since I have an affinity with every element there is. It means that all of my elemental magic is considerably stronger than most, no matter which element it is. Yup, this is broken then. I wonder how am I supposed to explain this to my parents and the Pope if I have this.

"Notice. The blessing of the Goddess Frostine, [Status Manipulation - Marquis], has been acquired. This skill can be used to alter and manipulate your status to hide certain information about the user. However it is only able to alter your status to hide information that is there, it is not able to add additional information that is not from your status. An example is that you can hide that you have an affinity with another element but you are not able to alter it to show an element that you don't have an affinity with."

Status Manipulation? I mean it is useful but do I need to hide what I got or not?

"Response. It is advisable to hide most of the elements you have as there hasn't been anybody in the entire history of this universe who managed to get an affinity with every single element. It is very advisable to show at most 2 or 3 types of elements to avoid suspicion as having 2 affinities is already considered as rare, especially for a human and a Demonoid as they are close to humans as a race. Humans typically don't have any internal magicules or enough magicules stored inside them to be used for magic, therefore it is harder for them to have more than one affinity of elemental magic. Demonoids are a half-spiritual lifeform capable of having internal magicules but since Demonoids are also related to humans to some degree, they inherit some of the bad effects that come from being human such as being rarely able to have affinities with multiple elements."

Wow, so having two or three affinities are already rare huh. I guessed as much. Alright then I guess I should alter it then, I wonder what elements I should choose…Eh, I should leave it to [Unique Skill: Knowledge] since I can't really decide.

"Confirmed. Randomly selecting the elements… Complete. Activating [Status Manipulation]...Altering Status…Complete. The elements that were chosen are the main types, Ice and Dark."

Wow, really? Did this really got randomly chosen? After all, these are the elements that are somewhat closest to me, with Darkness being the night and Ice…well we are in the capital where everything is freezing cold. Either way, I guess I'm done, since I now know what elements I have an affinity with, I should probably learn magic soon. Maybe some swordsmanship as well, kinda like a magic swordsman, or was it a swordmage? Eh, I don't really care.

After a little while, the gravity started to return to normal and the symbols around me started to return to the crystal ball which shows two symbols only. I guess these are the symbols of Ice and Dark, the symbols remind me of an icicle in a blizzard and an endless void with dark clouds. The dark barrier around started to fade and I was finally finished. Man, that took longer than I thought. I looked at the door to see both the Pope and my Father, signaling me to come.

"So how was it? Wasn't that experience cool?"

"Maybe…"

"Eh? I'm pretty sure you would like it though…Anyway, let's display what you get then."

Wow, this guy doesn't resemble a Pope at all. I guess it's better than someone who is crazy devoted to purging anything that doesn't line up to what they believe in, not speaking from experience or anything. The Pope pulled out his hand and started to draw a magic circle in the air. Wow, you can do that? After finishing creating it, the magic circle suddenly rushed towards the crystal ball and started displaying the symbols that is in the crystal ball. As expected, only 2 symbols were shown thanks to [Status Manipulation], thank goodness it worked or I would have caused an uproar when they found out I have every single element.

I glanced to my side to see their reactions but only saw a shocked expression on my father's face. Why is he shocked? Was I not supposed to get these elements then? Or did they find out that I hid the rest of the elements that I have?! Oh no, what should I do!

"Tomo, tell me. Did you seriously manage to have both Ice and Dark elements?"

"Um, yes? What's wrong?"

I'm nervous, after all since my father asked with a very shaky voice, I don't know why. Yikes, did I mess up or something?

A shocked expression on his face quickly turned into a grinning smile, as if he was waiting for this to happen. "This…is amazing! I never thought I would see the day that we would finally have someone in our family to get these elements!"

My father laughed. Eh? That's all? I wonder why he is surprised about it.

"Tomo, do you know why I am very surprised?"

"No…"

"Well, you see from a long time ago, an Archdemon who had an affinity with the element of Dark and a human Saint managed to produce a child, that child was one of our earliest ancestors. From all generations of our family, you are the only one who had the affinity of Dark, which means you are the only one who successfully inherited most of the Archdemon's blood! Not only that but you also inherited the affinity for Ice from your mother's side. You see, one of your mother's ancestors managed to have a child with an Elemental Lord of Ice, and like mine, no generation of their family has managed to get the affinity of Ice other than you. You not only inherited most of the Archdemon's blood and power from all of us, but you also inherited the Elemental Lord of Ice's power in you as well. This needs a celebration!"

Eh? Wow, these elements have a very important existence in our family? I didn't know that? Did my skill know this and so picked these elements out of all elements that can be chosen? Either way, I'm being celebrated for something like this? Oh hell no, I should stop this, I hate being celebrated for something, too many bad memories relating to this are popping in my head.

"Um, Otosan…you don't need to do that ok? This is cool and all but I don't like parties that much…"

"Really? Then…how about only us in the family celebrate this secretly? What do you say?"

Only us? I guess that shouldn't be too bad then. "Sure! Only us ok?"

"Of course, hahahahah" my father laughed. This man is such a festive father, pretty different from what you normally think of a king but at least my family is like this, if this family was like those families in the novels I have read then I'm screwed.

Well, I guess a little celebration shouldn't be too bad, right?
