I'm excited. I'm nervous. But still very excited! I'm filled with a lot of emotions.
After all, I am finally learning both magic and swordsmanship after so long! And I can somewhat trust my older siblings to teach me because… well… they are my family.
But that's the thing, I only trust them somewhat. I never really thought about it till now but I don't really know how reliable are they.
Sure, I had my sister teach me some stuff from time to time, but now that I think about it, didn't she go crazy in her lessons at one point? I'm pretty sure she used teleportation magic to teach me something and sent us to a random place. I still remember I was pretty shocked at what happened and we waited for a while there as if we were waiting for something to happen. I think she started guns blazing with magic everywhere at one point, I had forgotten why she did it but I really don't want to revisit that memory…
"Notice. The reason why your older sibling did it is that-"
Shush, I said I don't want to revisit that memory.
And about my brother… Yeah, I have never seen him train before since he usually goes somewhere that I don't know to train so I don't really know how he fairs teaching me, oh dear, am I really fucked right now? What if my brother just suddenly force me to fight multiple monsters without warning?! I mean considering his personality, it's not too far of a stretch… Yikes, I'm really nervous now.
I guess there's no point in regretting it now, after all, they both did ask permission from both of our parents and they did agree, so it should be fine, right?
Well, the first class is the original class that we are supposed to be in but since now I have two more classes, the time was cut shorter to allocate the remaining time for me. I had mixed feelings about it since I have less time to learn some basic stuff about this world but at least I can now learn magic and swordsmanship.
The class finished shortly and my sister just ran out of the door immediately after we were done, my brother did the same shortly after. I prepared myself for my next class, which was my sister's magic class. I asked the servants around where it was since I really didn't know and after a while of asking, I was guided to a room near the royal library by one of the butlers in this place.
I knocked on the door gently and the door opened on its own and there I saw it. A large room filled to the brim with magical tools, books, shelves, and of course a seat in the middle of the room which seems to be mine to sit. There stood my sister at the far back of the room with a ginormous blackboard behind her. She seems to be writing something on the blackboard, it is some sort of shape…
It's a star with 14 points and a dot in the middle. I think this star had a long name…I think it was a…tetradecagram, I think? Though, I'm not sure why she is writing one. I looked closer to see symbols at each of the points of the star and one symbol in that dot in the center. These symbols look familiar-
"Hey, what are you doing standing there? Hurry up and sit, this is our first official class after all!" she shouted. I froze up for some reason and I immediately ran to the chair in the middle of the room. I don't know why I did that, maybe she reminded me of something and I instinctively did it. Eh, whatever.
"Alright let's start the class!"
She started teaching me the basics of magic as a review of what she has already taught me all this time, I guess it must be pretty important in our lesson today then if she is teaching me this again. I mean I don't mind it or anything but I thought we will immediately continue on where we left off.
After all of that, she starts to teach me some spells to cast, pretty simple and easy ones to try out.
"Well then, let's start with the most basic spell, [Water Ball]. Read the incantation that is on the board."
I nodded. Since this is the first time I'm using magic in front of someone, I should probably use the incantation to not be suspicious. Of course, this isn't the first time using magic but nobody knows that. I raised my hand and started chanting.
"Oh, the Great Original Goddess of Water, I invoke here and now the elemental force of water, let the great protection of water be on the place thou seeketh. I call a refreshing, calm, and trickling stream here and now. Water Ball."
A magic circle appeared in front of my hand and water started to flow out of it and formed a ball of water. The water condensed itself to form a perfect sphere.
"Good, good. You managed to succeed on your first try, congrats. Although I do have a question~."
Hmm? Why is she asking me a question, did I do something wrong?
"You know, your pronunciation and the timing of the words are so on point despite being a beginner. The water also condensed itself and it also shaped into a perfect sphere. Are you sure this is the first time you used it, hmm~?"
Yikes, I forgot about that! Wait, did I got found out this easily?! In reality, I did learn how to use simple magic ever since my sister started teaching me incantations and stuff but it was only to find out what it felt like using magic. Plus, I also learn from my unique skill that there are still improvements that can be done so I practiced a lot. Because of that, I instinctively chanted it perfectly and condensed it without noticing, goddamnit.
"Well not that it matters. After all, I was like you too, I didn't really listen when I was told to wait until I'm old enough to use magic but still, you should have told me this sooner you know so that I could prepare for something like this. Well, [Dispel]"
And that, my Water Ball vanished instantly. She didn't even use incantations for this spell, she really is talented. Even I can't use that magic without an incantation yet.
It is possible to use magic without incantations but it is very rare and hard to do and it really depends on the person. Of course, I can use magic without incantations by using the knowledge I get from the novels I read but it's only for spells that are at most in the Intermediate level because I am still learning. Dispel is on the Advanced Level and since it is in the Null Element, it is harder than some Advanced level magic. But she managed to use it without any chants, that's to be expected for someone at her level.
"By the way, I'm pretty sure you could have done Water Ball without any incantations right?"
"Huh, how did you know?! Oops-"
"Of course, I knew. After all, you are able to chant it perfectly with no flaws and managed to condense it to the perfect shape, size, and density so it's not a surprise if you are able to use it without any incantations."
Ugh, I can't deny that. I got caught pretty hard huh. I really should try to do a better job hiding it.
"Well then, since you already knew how to use some spells without any incantations, I guess we should head straight to the Advanced level of learning, am I right?~ Hehehehe~"
That laugh, I have a bad feeling about this.
