Chapter 12 - chapter 12: Discharged

After that Friday, my mum couldn't stop blabbing about stuff, she would make sure I reply everything she asks, even I got tired of giving her replies but luckily the doctor saved me by asking her to give me some time to rest and that was how my mum left me alone...

Today was a bright Sunday morning... "rise and shine, you sleepyhead" I knew instantly that it was bianca, " what are you doing here"
"what kind of question is that?, my best friend is getting discharged today and you expect me not to be here"
" what do mean?"
"didn't you know that you were getting discharged today "
" nope" I said lazily rising to sit upright resting my back on my pillow, " so no one told you" I shook my head telling her no, " well, now you know, but we will be leaving during twilight"
"why?"
"Because your mum went somewhere and would be back during twilight"
" ok, bianca can you do me a favour and call Sam"
" Sam, Sam, Sam, Sam everytime it's sam, what about me, I'm standing right in front of you"
" so?, it doesn't matter just call Sam"
" well Sam isn't here"
" huh?"
" I said Sam hasn't come yet"
" why he's never late on weekends"
"wow, so you even time him now, how great"
"are you jealous or something"
" hmmphh, jealous of him, never"
" then what's your problem"
" my problem is that you never make out time for me, we haven't spent time together"
" it's the time we spent together that landed me in the hospital " I said with a sarcastic tone, " I already apologized for that, so stop blaming me"
"look I don't have the strength to start a fight with you, so you should just leave and call Sam if you see him on your way out"
" since when did you start liking boys?"
" I still hate boys, but Sam he seems different, no,he is different from others, so he's an exception"
"yeah right, hmmphh" she scoffed before leaving..... few minutes later Sam came in with some food, " hey, I heard you called for me"
"Sam you're finally here" I said with a smile, " yeah, I was stuck in a traffic"
"ohh, well at least you're here now" I said as he grabbed a chair and sat beside my bed placing the food in front of me, " here you go, eat up"
" thank you"
" sooooo, I heard you're getting discharged today"
" yeah, I also found out this morning"
" well at least I achieved my goal"
" what goal?"
"the goal of getting you to talk, smile and laugh"
"well not really, I think my funny bone is faulty so I can't really laugh, but I can smile" I said while chewing my food,
" really?"
" yeah, but it's not serious though"
" if you say so" he said, but his face was looking sad, " what's wrong"
" well, your getting discharged and.."
"and?"
" it's just that am gonna miss you alot, and it's also gonna feel boring without you here" he said with a sad expression on his face, " awnnnn, I'm not even gone and you miss me already, but we would still see in school right, so you won't have to miss me much"
" I know, but it won't feel the same with out you here"
"don't worry, you'll be fine" I said putting the last spoon of food in my mouth..... Sam left later on after we talked about alot of other things, I decided to get a little shut eye.... when I woke up, I saw my mum and the doctor in the room, they were talking about something, so l slowly sat upright resting my back on the pillow as usual, " mum" I called out to her, she turned and saw that I was awake, " my darling, how are you"
"am good mum"
"it's good to know that my patient is healthy and strong too" the doctor said with a smile on his face, " yeah doc, I'm plenty strong" I said, and they both let out a chuckle, then the doctor asked me some questions and checked me again, "she's good to go"
"thank you doctor, I'm so grateful for your help"
" there's no need to thank me it's my job, I'm just glad she recovered quickly unlike some patients, they recover In a month time or even a year" he said wiping the sweat of his forehead... I changed into my normal clothes and was helped by my mum to get into the car, I bid Sam goodbye and got in the car with bianca and then we drove off....when we reached home a smile curved on my face because I was happy to be finally back home, " home sweet home"
