Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: It’s a Long Story.

Skygge and Adeline had returned back home, and the sight they came to see was… unique to say.

Grayfia sat beside Aatrox with various flavors of ice cream around her, and she was feeding each and every flavor of it to Aatrox who was watching the human cartoon, Tom and Jerry.

What was unique about this was that the stoic face maid had an almost imperceptible smile on her face.

Yes the same silver maid that always showed a blank face, which might even make one question if her face was frozen, was showing a happy expression as she fed ice cream to Aatrox.

Both Aatrox and Grayfia turned towards them when they felt the old couple return, and Grayfia's smile vanished as if it was an illusion.

Aatrox lifted the remote of the T.V. and muted it. Giving his full attention to his grandparents.

"So, what happened?" Aatrox raised the question.

"Nothing, they were just here to question us about the source of the aura that enveloped the underworld." Skygge replied while sitting down beside his grandson and watching the cartoon.

Aatrox automatically understood that it was his aura they were talking about, so he skipped the useless part and asked the million-dollar question.

"And what did you say?"

"We said that it was an unexpected accident caused by one of my spells" Adeline was the one to reply to the question while picking up the brownie topped with strawberry ice cream cup.

Both Aatrox and Grayfia turned towards Adeline.

"That will hurt your reputation as the 'Spell Empress'." Aatrox was the one to state the drawback of using the excuse.

"My grandson is more important than some silly title." Adeline replied while staring at her grandson.

"… Thanks, grandma." Aatrox said shyly while scratching his cheek.

To dispel the awkward atmosphere, Grayfia gave a light cough and looked in the direction of her Master, Aatrox.

"*cough*… Master, your story." Grayfia reminded her master about the story that he would tell when everyone was together.

"Uh, yes the story." Aatrox happily took the lifeline thrown by his maid.

"What story?" Skygge asked taking his eyes away from the T.V. and motioning his wife to pass him the coffee ice cream with white chocolate sauce and chocolate sticks.

"Oh, just the story about my sleep." Aatrox replied while eating another spoonful of ice cream, which caused his face to scrunch up when he looked at Grayfia she showed him a cup full of raisins.

Those words caused the two grandparents to freeze and look at Aatrox in concern.

"Are you alright? Are there any issues when you move your body? Does it hurt when you move your body? Do you have a headache?" Adeline quickly rushed towards her grandson and started to check him with magic to check if there was anything wrong with his body.

"I am alright, grandma. There are no issues with my body and I am perfectly healthy." Aatrox replied while calming his grandma down.

"Are you sure?" Skygge also joined the check-up.

"Yes, I am sure. And this is about what happened while I was sleeping, like the Devil Civil War, peace between the three factions and the Evil Pieces." Aatrox replied while quickly telling about the topic.

Both the grandparents looked at him confused knowing the information and turned towards the silver maid, who just shook her head denying that she told him anything.

"Grayfia didn't tell me anything. When I fell into the coma, I wasn't actually in coma. Actually, I was in coma, well at least my body was… While I couldn't move my body, my astral form was a whole different matter." Aatrox replied while switching off the T.V.

"Your astral form?" Inquired Adeline, about the totally new term.

"Yes, Astral form. It is basically when your soul can move independently of your mortal body. It is a difficult thing to achieve as you are basically moving into a parallel dimension, but it is not your whole self that is moving, it is just your soul. Only a few can do this like the Trimurti, Buddha, Amaterasu, Odin, Nyx, Ra, and Big G God. You know the most powerful of their myths." Aatrox answered his grandma's question.

"So what happened to your astral form?" Inquired Skygge before his wife could start asking various questions about the astral form.

"Well, after I fell into the coma. I could suddenly move my astral form. This allowed me to see the world even when I couldn't physically see it. When I first separated from my body, I was extremely scared as I couldn't interact with any one of you guys no matter what I tried, after a long time I had already given up the hope of contacting you guys, but then one day when Gramp came to visit me, and he suddenly looked in my direction like he could see me. I moved away from the location but his eyes still followed me, so with my hope reignited I tried to talk to him, and it worked Gramp could both see me and talk to me, I was so excited that I jumped around for a whole hour screaming at the top of my astral lungs.

Gramps was so happy to see me well that he even shed a few tears of happiness." Aatrox recalled his memories with a happy innocent smile.

"Wait, wait, wait, Met could see and talk to you and he didn't bother to tell any of us about it?!" Skygge asked furiously. Livid about Met (short for Metatron) not telling others about Aatrox…he must have used this opportunity to bond with his grandson, becoming the favorite grandpa.

"Well, grandpa he didn't get the opportunity to tell any of you as that was my last time with him." Aatrox said sadly, with a few tears in the corner of his eyes.

The atmosphere of the room suddenly became solemn, as everyone remembered the angel that was the very definition of an angel.

"Aatrox…" Adeline softly said.

(I would recommend that you guys read the next part while listening to – Lovely by Billie Eilish, Khalid. Also, there is a picture in the paragraph comment below of the thing. For doubts check the bottom.)

"It's all okay grandma. I am okay, look, I am still smiling. Just like mom and dad used to say 'Never lose your smile, Nepth. It's the most beautiful thing in the world.'" Aatrox said, showing a smile that made everyone's hearts clench.

No one said anything but with common understanding everyone hugged Aatrox simultaneously, trying to ease the pain of the broken child.

"W-Why are you guys h-hugging me? I-I told you I am fine, completely fine, see I'm… I'm even smiling."

They just held the boy closer to their hearts trying to provide him the love and warmth of their gone family.

"We are here Nepth. We are here."

Those were the last words the boy heard before he cried his heart out with his now broken family for their lost loved ones, for Aatrox's mom, dad, and grandfather.

(A/N: Before you ask, Nepth is a pet name for Aatrox it is short for Nephilim, combined with the 't' from Aatrox. This name will only be used by his family, for others, his nickname can be something you can drop in the comments because I am totally clueless. The song recommendation is there because I wrote that part while hearing the song. After this, there will be a time skip, as I have given most of the information for the foundation of the story, and so we will now start with a new arc or something like that. See you tomorrow. 😊)
