(Aatrox's Perspective)
After I unsealed the Malebranche I went back home, nervously. It was because I just realized the severity of my situation, you see (yeah I can see you) although I had awakened the Malebranche and gained their service, none of this was known by anyone in the family, and I can't just walk in with these 12 powerful beings in the house and say that I stumbled upon them in the forest.
I could lie, but I didn't like to lie to my family, but that doesn't mean that I won't ever lie to them, after all, it's sometimes better to lie about something than to tell the whole truth. But even if I lie, I can't find any good reason to explain the servitude of 12 powerful beings to me when I just went for a run in the forest.
Ah fuck it, I am just going, to tell the truth… Most of the truth. After all, what's the worst that could happen?
***
You know when I asked, what's the worst that could happen? I wasn't really looking for the answer. And boy oh boy have I got a fucking answer.
After I told the family what I had done for several minutes, there was pure silence. They looked at me and then at the Malebranche who were behind me and curiously looking around the room.
Grandpa had a stoic face with nary a reaction, which honestly scared me more as I had never seen this side of grandpa.
Grandma had a friendly smile and kind face, which caused a shiver to run through the very core of my bones. Also, there was the faint sound of thunder cracking being heard, which I just chalked off to my mind escaping the situation.
Grayfia was Grayfia. She was looking at me with the same old gaze but I could tell she was a bit wary of the Malebranche behind me, and also a tiny bit worried about me. Only a tiny bit though it seems.
And here I was standing in front of all my family almost about to have a stroke with the heat of their gaze.
"Sweetie, who have you brought with you?" Grandma asked with a tone that made my mind go blank with nervousness. It was like being in front of Mom when she used to ask me who had eaten the sweets.
"Uh... They are... Uh... The (in a small voice) Malebranche? "What fuck me!? Why the hell am I so unsure of my own fucking answer?
"Right, right, right. They are the Malebranche." Grandma replied back, and weirdly the thunder cracking got louder, this made me unconsciously swallow my saliva.
"So, Nepth. Can you tell me why the Malebranche which are supposed to be sealed away, are currently in our house?" Grandpa interjected before grandma fried me.
His words also snapped me out of my thoughts. I took a few deep breaths to calm down and then looked straight into my family's eyes.
"Because we need them." I answered seriously.
Grandpa didn't say anything and only raised his eyebrows and gestured for me to continue.
"As you know when I was in my astral form I saw everything. I saw the Great War, Civil War, and all the other events. I also saw the death of mom, dad, and grandpa Met. Those events broke me. I became a husk of my former self and spiraled into a pit of despair and self-loathing, I would have destroyed myself from inside out if on that day I hadn't learned the truth behind their death." I said with barely contained anger.
This caused both Gramps, Grandma, and Grayfia to show a surprised expression, as they didn't know that I knew about the story behind the scenes. They didn't say anything and just waited for me to continue.
After taking a pause to calm down, I continued.
"The truth was what helped me. It gave me the purpose to continue living, to climb out of my despair and loathing. I used my time in the astral plane to gain knowledge and plan. I could study books in the astral plane by drawing out their own projection. I used books to study and watched different events to understand. I used the astral plane to its fullest. Studying the written knowledge of other Devil families, other races, like angels, fallen, and even gods and races from other pantheons. In those 500 years, I learned all that I could, and during one of my years of studying, I stumbled upon the study about the Malebranche. I realized that the statues that my father had sealed were the Malebranche, and since I knew their location I made contact. They were the first beings after Grandpa Met that were able to see me, hence I talked to them and could finally recruit them."
I told all the story with a few lies mixed in between and withholding some truth on my part, like how I practiced my other power in the astral form, how I used it to subdue the Malebranche without which they wouldn't have joined me.
After speaking for so long and due to the previous tense situation I picked up a glass of iced tea and drank it moistening my dry throat.
The silence once again enveloped the room as everyone processed the information. It gave me time to think about the Malebranche and how they have been silent all this time not speaking a word. I turned around to see what they were doing only to see them sprawled out on the couches, eating cookies, reading books, that God knows where they found and playing UNO.
For a few minutes, I couldn't process what I was seeing. I even rubbed my eyes to see whether I'm hallucinating or not, but no, the 12 Satanic Arms, the crazy maniacs were playing UNO like civilized people.
While Malacoda stands behind me like a loyal butler.
(Mind thoughts)
'Okay. Either I am dead or this Iced Tea is spiked.'
However, before I can check further. I am brought back to reality by my Gramps's voice.
"So, the Malebranche are a part of your plan. Correct?" Gramps asked.
"Yes."
"What's the purpose of the plan?" Grandma asked.
"REVENGE."
My answer again brought silence to the room.
Gramps and Grandma looked at each other, communicating silently with their eyes. While Grayfia was staring at Malacoda like he was her enemy or something, Malacoda just stared at her with a smirk.
Gramps and Grandma nodded at each other and turned toward me.
"A wise man once said, "Never go to bed angry, stay awake and plan your revenge."… It's time that we have some sleepless night." Gramps said with a crazy smile showing all his teeth.
"Revenge requires power. Your training will now begin earnestly." Grandma said with the same crazy smile as Gramps.
Grayfia behind them showed the same crazy smile, showing her support for my cause.
Seeing their smile brought a crazy smile to my face too.
'I love my family.'
(A/N: Sorry for not updating guys. But I am back now. So let's start plotting.)
