Chereads / A Shadow's Reincarnation / Chapter 55 - Resonance

Chapter 55 - Resonance

The next morning, Blake stood in front of his double doors, waiting for his friends to arrive.

When everybody had gathered, he smiled at his friends as he took out a wooden board from his storage space.

He then coated his finger with mana and started etching some words on it.

Finishing the last stroke, the wooden board in his hand let out a dazzling light, blinding everyone in the process.

"Starting today, this will be the birth of a new sect…A sect led by me, the Angel Executioner, Blake Chaos! The name of my sect will follow my surname. Thus, the Chaos Clan is born!" Amplifying his voice using magic, Blake shouted loudly at the sky with a determined look.

He took a good look at the black plaque in his hand before he continued. "With the Heavens as my witness, I swear that I will create the strongest clan. I take revenge on backstabbing fucks that destroyed the Eight Retainer Families!"

At the back, Zack, Amelia and Willford twiddled their thumbs for their friend to make his oaths to the sky.

To kill his boredom, Zack couldn't help but get curious and asked his two friends next to him.

"Say, what are the Eight Retainer Families? Blake seems to view them on a pedestal. Yet I've never heard of the Eight Retainer Families before. Were they a thing of the past or am I too dumb to recognize the names?" [Zack]

"You're definitely too dumb to recognize the name. How have you never heard of the Eight Retainer Families of Chaos?" [Amelia]

"Of Chaos? Are they related to Blake's past?" [Zack]

"Well, duh. The Eight Retainer Families, founded by eight loyal subordinates of the Angel Executioner 700 years ago, were rulers of the 7 continents on Earth." [Amelia]

Zack understood nothing from that and simply nodded his head with a blank look.

To which, Willford sighed. He then took out a portable projector from his pocket before he continued on from where Amelia left off.

"According to my family's ancient records, the Swordfish Kingdom we live in now is the last remaining family of the Eight Retainer Families of Chaos. And yes, the full name has the word 'Chaos' in it." [Willford]

"Wait, what happened to the other seven families?" [Zack]

"I'm not sure. There were no records of the other seven families other than the mention of the eight retainer families' duties. This means that someone had erased them from history. Then again, Blake should know who are the culprits." Willford thought about it before he replied.

"Oh, I understand now. But wait, why can't he barge into his enemies' bases and kill them then and there? Wouldn't it be easy for him since he's a Magic Ancestor expert? Heck, he's the only Magic Ancestor who's not an old fart in this generation. There should be no way he'd lose to a bunch of old ancestors, right?" [Zack]

"That's not very ethical, is it?" [Amelia]

"Screw ethics." [Zack]

"Well, it'd be different for Blake. Sure, he could barge into his enemies' bases and massacre them all with ease. But, what about after? The world would see him as a murderous psychopath who's out for blood. The United Nations would then have a justifiable reason to barge into Japan to take Blake down." [Willford]

"He'll kill them all the same." [Zack]

"Zack, for once, use that brain of yours. If Blake massacred everything that came his way without care, he wouldn't have time to rest, much less improve his cultivation. Sooner or later, he'd die by the hands of his enemies. And I'm sure none of us want to see our friend die like that right?" [Willford]

Zack had no words after that.

He understood Willford's logic well. Blake's goal of creating a sect was his ticket to destroy his enemies in a legitimate manner in the future.

Nonetheless, the Scarletheart Family's heir couldn't help but worry about his dear friend.

In hindsight, news of the reincarnation of the Angel Executioner would have shook the world.

Adding on that the Executioner was in the midst of making a clan would scare the life out of everyone.

Hence, sects and clans from all over the world would do anything to impede the expansion of the Chaos Clan.

They wouldn't want a repeat of the catastrophe that occurred centuries ago after all.

In the end, the three young cultivators could only let out exasperated sighs as they were too weak to help their friend in case he's met with danger.

"I guess we can only support Blake by being his friends, right? Our cultivation realms are too weak. Thus, we can only help him by not interfering with his matters." With a helpless look, Willford picked up his portable projector before he stored it back in his pocket.

"Agreed." Amelia and Zack nodded in unison.

Moments later, Blake finished making his oaths.

"Flight." With a jump, he floated up to the top of his double doors. He then nailed the black plaque containing two golden words 'Chaos Clan' on it using magic."There. Now my plot of land can be considered a sect."

With that, he invited his friends inside to have tea with him.

Unbeknownst to him however, the Heavenly Dao that exists within his world has resonated with the founding of his sect. Changes to Blake's fate were going on as we speak.

In between the mortal realms and Heaven, there exists a mystical land where angels and saints resided.

Divided into two factions, the angels and saints lived in harmony since the beginning of time.

But as time passed, the angels and saints there became bored with their lives.

The angels who followed the martial dao would practice their weapon arts while the saints who followed the magic dao would train their spells.

As for the older angels, they would look at their junior angels from afar because they were created differently from their juniors.

Why, you ask? Because the current generation of angels and saints found within the mystical realm are not pure beings created by Gods.

They are the creations of the Heavenly Dao that governs the samsara cycle. The new angels and saints were humans in their past lives.

After dying in battle, the Heavenly Dao would redirect their souls to this mystical realm to be reborn as holy beings, regardless of how they've acted in the past.

But of course, the Heavenly Dao had placed countermeasures to prevent the newborn angels and saints from causing trouble in the mystical realm.

With a seal etched into their souls, the newborn angels and saints were forced to live peacefully with one another for eternity.

Although there were complaints against the Heavenly Dao initially, the angels and saints decided it was useless to try and go against it after some angels planned to escape the mystical realm via their divine movement techniques.

But before they could carry out their plan, they were struck by tribulation lightning and died pathetically.

With that serving as their warning, the angels and saints became docile before the older angels living there.
