Chereads / A Shadow's Reincarnation / Chapter 56 - Seraph

Chapter 56 - Seraph

The city of angels, Michaelis. The third biggest city that has existed since the dawn of the mystical realm. The mystical realm was created a year after the first hundred primordial gods were born.

In a patch of grassy land in the outskirts of Michaelis, a group of angels and saints could be seen sparring together.

Colorful flashes of light filled up the surroundings as the group of angels and saints spammed their martial arts and magic spells at each other without holding back.

After a while, the group stopped to take a break.

"Phew! That was a good spar, guys. Let's keep this up." An angel with reddish hair and a pair of flame wings looked at his group and revealed a bright smile.

He was happy that he and his friends were improving everyday with each spar that they conducted together.

If they keep this up, they might be able to pass the Heavenly Dao's test and reincarnate into humans again.

"Yeah…We can do this…" A blonde hair saint wearing a light blue jacket and dark blue cargo pants responded while trying to gasp for air. The air around him turns incredibly humid wherever he goes.

As for the other angels and saints, they were too exhausted to speak. They simply nodded their heads at their friends' words as they tried hard to catch their breath.

After dying in battle centuries ago, the group of Martial Angels and Magic Saints were reincarnated as angels and saints in the mystical realm.

It had been a good run. But as time passed, the group couldn't help but reminisce about their past deeds and glory.

Alas, the group of angels and saints couldn't take it anymore.

The angels unfurled their wings before they soared into the endless horizon, hoping to reach the end of the mystical realm and enter the samsara cycle of reincarnation.

The saints, on the other hand, casted every buff type magic they knew on themselves. They then headed for the Temple of God to strike a deal with the Archangels living there.

Their deal with the Archangels almost went through but fate had something planned for them instead.

Just before the saints and Archangels present were about to strike a deal, a higher holy being appeared before them in a flash of dazzling light.

Its entire body, from head to toe, was formed out of light.

The only thing the Archangels and saints present could make out of the holy being is that it had six wings sticking out its back.

Michael, one of the three archangels that revealed themselves to humanity, stood up in shock as the other archangels kneeled before the holy being.

"Greetings, your Excellency. What brings you here to this humble abode of ours?" It didn't take long when Michael regained his senses before he knelt before the holy being as well.

The holy being ignored the Archangels as it turned around to look at the saints.

The saints had never heard or seen the holy being before, so they decided it was best to stay vigilant for as long as possible.

Alas, their efforts were futile. The holy being easily paralyzed the saints in place with a blink of its eyes.

The saints revealed looks of horror afterwards.

'Shit! Daniel, we can't move!' Vigor was shocked.

He tried to break free by casting curse removal on himself, but the paralyzing effect remained.

'As expected of a higher holy being, it's a lot stronger than the Archangels here.' Daniel thought back, his eyes were focused on the holy being.

But as if it were reading their thoughts, the holy being assured the saints. "No need to be scared of me, young ones. I'm merely acting as a messenger for a higher existence. I'll let you after you hear the message with an open mind."

Within a blink of an eye, the saints and the holy being disappeared before the Archangels' eyes.

The Archangels looked at each other in confusion before they deemed that this was outside of their jurisdiction already. They will just leave it at that.

As for the saints, the holy being had brought them into an independent space he had created moments ago.

But that wasn't the most shocking part yet.

When the saints came to their senses, they couldn't help but reveal looks of shock when they realized that their angel friends were knocked out beside them.

"Zac? Phoenix?"

"Fang! Logic!"

"Even Carl is here! What's going on here?!"

The saints were in uproar.

It was these five angels that had flown into the endless horizon years ago, yet they were lying unconscious next to the two saints at the moment.

"Just what is going on here? Who are you? What do you want with us?" Following that, Vigor shouted at the holy being with a shaky voice.

"I am a seraph." The holy being that was quiet the entire time, finally spoke up. When the saints heard its voice, they couldn't help but feel a multitude of emotions swell up within them.

From happiness to sadness to anger, the two saints felt everything within a blink of an eye.

"Holy…Shit! That is so trippy!" Daniel clutched his head and took a step back, trying to calm down after having experienced every possible emotion within a moment.

Vigor on the other hand, gave himself a slap on the cheek to wake up from his stupor. His strong mind protected him from those raging emotions so he came out rather fine actually.

"Sorry about that. I can't help it." The seraph tried to apologize but it was too late.

The two saints got overwhelmed by their emotions and fainted shortly after.

It was a year later when the group of angels and saints woke up in a forest. The seraph was nowhere to be seen so they deduced that it had left after it had knocked them out.

But when the angels tried to fly into the horizon again, they unknowingly crashed into an invisible barrier and was sent back to the ground.

It was then did the group realize that they had never left the seraph's independent space in the first place.

The seraph had merely decorated its independent space to look like a forest.

As for the seraph, it appeared before the group once everyone had cooled their heads months later.

The seraph passed on the message it was holding for that entire year to the year before the seraph released the group back into the mystical realm.

"It's time we train ourselves once more till that time comes." Hand on his hips, the angel with blazing wings, Phoenix looked at his friends before he revealed a dazzling smile.
