"Hey remember when on your 25th birthday you suddenly asked me to marry you?" She asked laughing and I laughed along, nodding. It had been an year since that and nothing had changed, everything settled and slowed down. Everything was fine but one day on his way home, Jake got into an accident, he broke a couple of bones.
We couldn't move out due to that so all of us decided to stay till he got his treatement done. As of now, we were lying on the couch, watching Iron man on Kyle's special request. Today was March 7th. I checked the time, lightly yawning, in all honesty I just wanted to cuddle and sleep right now.
"Hey, I need to go out and buy pads." Bee told me and I nodded getting up but she pushed me back down. Oh she must be wanting privacy or something. I smiled at her nodding for her to go and she turned around.
"Jake honey are you sure your leg doesn't hurt now?" She asked bending down to check the injuries on his forehead and he shook his head.
I wanted to be called honey too.
"No, I'm fine. You going out?" She nodded, smiling at him and I watched her go from the back. Her hair swaying everytime she turns, they've grown quite longer than before, it looked beautiful on her. Everything looked beautiful when it was on her.
The clock struck 11:30 PM and my palms started sweating.
I waited for another five minutes before calling her. I hated when she did this, being late. It made me shit scared. Nervously biting on my lip, I dialled her number, excusing myself from the boys.
I had an unusual feeling today.
"Bee? Baby where are-" A cry from the other side cuts me off. Oh no, she never cried.
"Yoonie, can you come pick me up?" She asks between light sobs.
"Yeah, oh my god, I'll be right there, tell me where you are."
"I'm near the flower shop Seok-Min always goes to," I mumbled a quick okay before running in to grab the keys and tell the boys. They all gave me worried looks and told me to hurry. I was gonna do that anyway, idiots. I opened the front door and ran to my car. As soon as I opened the door, a little card fell down and I picked it up getting in, turning the engine on.
I opened the note, and knew it was Bee's handwriting for sure. I read the note carefully.
You, my love, are the reason that love that used to be such a vague concept, such a hollow promise now seems oh so beautiful, so lovely, so close that it's almost impossible to survive without it.You, my love, are the shade of a tree on a sunny day, you run with me through the rain of my wishes holding my pinky with yours. You, my love, make me feel like even I'm feeling all of you, when you're so close to me, I'd be too far away if I let you slip away now. You, my love, are the prize I've won by losing myself because I've already given myself to you. All of me, to have even an inch of you.
PS: I'm waiting for you, what are you doing reading in the car?
I laughed a little at her silliness checking the time. Now I didn't have to be worried. She was gonna surprise me for my birthday, I knew her so well. I rushed to the flower shop, impatient. My girlfriend always gave the best surprises.
I looked around the shop but nothing came in my sight. I walked inside the shop and looked around. The girl sitting at the counter looked at me twice and then smiled.
"Are you Min Jaejae?" She asked. I can't believe Bee told her that nickname.
"Uh, yeah, why?" She smiled again before handing me another note and a blue orchid. I smiled to myself and opened the note reading it.
"Everyday, when my eyes meets yours.
Everyday, when my hands intertwine with yours.
Everyday, when my mind wanders to you.
Everyday. when my heart speaks to yours.
Everyday, when my scars smile when they see you.
Everyday, when my skin touches yours soft like the wind.
Everyday, when my heartbeat quickens when you smile.
Everyday, when my lips land on yours.
Everyday, I laugh a little more than yesterday.
Everyday, I fall in love with you, a little more."
Tell me, is it wrong if I want to align our heartbeats together for all the coming 'everydays' ?
PS: Check the time Jaejae. Don't be late. I'm near the intersection with the pretty trees.
I smiled widely before checking the time. I couldn't believe she makes me blush so much, even after a year I got all giddy when she smiled.
11:47 PM. Gotta run.
My hands tapped against the wheel continuously in anticipation of what could be there. I drove the car as fast as possible, once I got near my heartbeats fastened and I snickered in awe of how much of an effect she had on me. I parked the car a little away from the intersection and started walking towards the fountain in the middle when I noticed a bouquet of blue orchids lying on the pavement of it. How sappy could this girl get? Not complaining though, I loved her. I ran to the fountain, picking the bouquet from the pavement. I looked between the flowers for a note and jumped when I found it.
Happy birthday, Honey!
"The wet forked paths of love and relationships often make people slip and fall. The only way to help yourself is to hold tight onto your love. The light that shines through a thousand tunnels, the love I left at your doorstep, the smiles I carved onto your chest, the life you gave me back is what I'm looking for. No matter where I look, how much I look, I come running back to you. It's time you return everything to me.
Will you refund everything and seal the deal with a kiss?"
My breath got caught up in my throat and I brought a hand to my mouth to close it, I am so in love. I could never top the things she did for me.
A throat was cleared behind me and I turned around with wide eyes. There she was, beautiful as ever, black hair flowing in waves due to the slow wind, adorning a pretty white dress, not the wedding kind, just a cherry-printed one I bought her. Standing with her hands behind her back. I saw how her rose vine tattoo peeked at me. It was already a pretty dress yet she made it possibly prettier. Big round eyes boring into my smaller ones and lips forming a beautiful smile that made my heart jump. 'Don't do that to me.'
I tried to speak something but nothing came out of my mouth. I was too impressed.
"Close your eyes again." She said softly and I wasted no time in complying. What else had she planned? Wasn't this enough?
"Open them." She almost whispered in a shaky voice.
The moment my eyes opened, they went wide as headlights. I swore she was the best girl anyone could have and I couldn't believe it was me. She was bent down on one knee with a box in hand, the light from the lamps around falling on her skin making it shine. I got drunk in the way she looked so beautiful, absolutely breathtaking, fucking gorgeous. She opened the box with a quivering lip. Why did she have to be nervous? Didn't she know by then? I'd only loved her as much as I do.
"Will you marry me Min Meowgi?" There she goes. I laughed whole heartedly. This was the happiest moment of my life since the day she said 'I love you'. I didn't say anything for around a minute and I saw the panic in her eyes.
"Are you gonna say something or not? My knee hurts." She said through gritted teeth.
"Yes! Of course I will, I love you so much." She smiled blushing, and took my left hand, putting the beautiful silver band on it, it fit perfectly. As soon as it's on, I bend down, picking her up in my arms and kissed her. I was sealing it. With a kiss. Like she asked.
"He said something final-fucking-ly!" Jake erupted from behind my own car followed by the boys. Of course they knew. I rolled my eyes still laughing and I noticed Bee looking.
"Happy birthday Boy!" They hollered together making us laugh again.
"What?" I asked her and she kissed me shaking her head.
"I don't know, you look like somebody I know."
Who? She just proposed me, was she talking about another guy now? I furrowed my brows glaring at her.
"Who?" I asked putting her down since the boys came around us, no flashing.
"My future husband." She said giggling and I sighed in relief. I love how mature and immature she was at the same time.
She was perfect.
