I bit into the burger and smiled. I had eaten anything in so long! A burger was the perfect meal. The next part of my plan was to simply put Hide. Enjoy some luxuries, create a trail of suspicion. It might sound a little dumb, sure.
However! "This burger is so good! Can I get another 3 please!"
The waitress just nodded. She was certainly shocked, same went for the cook. I mean I had eaten like five of them at this point.
I clicked my pen again and began writing on my note pad again. Sure, I can create thousands of notes in my head instantly. However this truly felt so much better. The next part of my plans consisted of 4 steps.
The first was to be normal. Go to movies, eat out, and just hang around. This would make June who did the background check on me super suspicious. See at this point that girl should've come to the information I had set up.
She likely got my name off that bartender. After that she looked me up in the system. Where she would find no reports about me other than my orphanage. She would then investigate that and discover I had come into inheritance of Arthur Ryle who was now confirmed dead.
This is where the brilliance comes in. Since he was a scientist who was gonna question the stuff I was passing out. After all I had already shipped some USB's out to other places that sold well. June would figure this out and come to the conclusion I was selling off my dead and estranged father's stuff. All the while blowing off the money on petty luxuries.
Specially since I was driving around a sports car. Though I didn't buy it. It was legit just in the garage of Arthur Ryle. A small quirk of the scientist apparently. Something I hadn't written in surprisingly. Though it wasn't what I'd call a sports car. As it was older and lacked much of the horsepower of a real sports car. It seemed Ryle just liked the model and just took out the standard engine out.
Anyway, my plan was a good one. It gave an explanation to everything. The blueprints, the moving around and the mass amount of money I put into my bank account for myself. I could just wait it out until the first event that happens. Whichever that is.
Truth be told since there was no mad AI. I had no idea what would happen first. The Warp gates, the Epidemic, or the ancient throne. Any of these three could happen. The Epidemic was a virus that comes out of ice caps. It would infect some researchers and connect them to a hive mind on another world. The ancient throne was buried on the planet's moon. It would be activated and alert a different AI watching over its own world. Said AI's inhabitants was much weaker and less advance than Nearth's.
All I had to do was wait.
------ Okay apparently I lied in a previous chapter, cause it switches Pov here.------
As soon as I got off work i called June. The phone rung once and she picked up. "JUNE! You wouldn't believe it! I saw the guy! He vanished in thin air."
June sighed, "Sounds like you met him too. He was in my Father's bar."
I pursed my lips, "The one you drink on Thursdays?"
June seemed to shuffle around as I heard her put me on speaker. "Am I that predictable?"
I nodded, but realized I was on the phone. "Yeah, like totally. He was at was waiting for you there?"
June made a noise of affirmation. "Found his name and everything. His name is Finn Ryle. He passed me this USB stick."
I asked the obvious question. "What's on it? Did you, like, check?"
June tapped on my car window and I jumped. So i rolled it down, "When did yo-"
She put shushed me and continued. "Blueprints mostly, however one was something for you I think. I had to show you so I drove over here."
She pulled open my passenger seat door and pulled out her laptop. The screensaver of her and her dad popped up. Then once logged in a set of blueprints were pulled up. "Are theses nanites? I'm hardly.... theses are...."
I looked up at her, "He just gave you this?"
June nodded, "That's not the craziest part."
