Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 Golem Attack!

The golems rushed forward. They clenched their fist and an enormous sword materialized out of thin air. It was glowing bright blue.

They were like unstoppable killing machines as they collided against the beasts.

The beasts turned and attacked, trying to buy time for the shaman. The other beasts got bigger, body swelled uncontrollably some of the limbs or muscles were bigger than the other.

The golems didn't seem to care. They cut and destroyed the beasts all the same. Whether the beasts were small or huge, all died.

The fate energy flared and the golems flashed. The monsters they passed burst. Blood, bones, and meat were scattered on the battlefield. The giant beasts were split open from the head to the tail.

The sword they wielded wasn't even that long.

The monsters twitched as they fell with a thud.

Aidan was speechless as he stared at this massacre. There were at least a hundred golems there, charging toward the shaman.

The shaman did not stay still. He waved his staff around. Dark-red energy condensing around him, burst, and huge beasts came out in the thousands.

One of the beasts was especially huge. Towering all the other beasts. It charged towards one of the golems, about to chomp it down. Instead, the beast's head fell and Aidan didn't even see the golem move.

Such power. He was sure that each golem was much stronger than Feval. So, Feval can't even defeat one of those? He wanted to find out what level they had.

[Analyze]

Aidan's eyes expanded. He couldn't analyze something if he didn't have enough level? Just how strong were these golems?

Soon after, the golems cut all the monsters and reached the shaman.

The shaman fought back, shooting dark and red energy out of his staff. His effort was futile.

None of his spells did any damage to the golems.

One of the golems grabbed his neck, and the rest slashed him in every direction ruthlessly. His body parts fell one after another.

The shaman couldn't even let out a groan of pain before his life was gone.

Aidan trembled. Strong. So strong. He at least had to stand shoulder to shoulder with these golems before he could travel the world.

"Aidan." Feval grabbed his shoulder. "You fine boy?"

His voice pulled Aidan out of his thoughts.

Aidan smiled. "My spotless skin isn't obvious enough?"

Feval flicked his forehead. "You got us worried there." He pulled him out of the ground.

Aidan dusted off his clothes. "Thanks."

His clothes were torn terribly, especially his back. There was no way he could use this again.

"Aidan!" Gomon and the others ran up to him.

"Hey, guys." Aidan waved to them.

Gomon circled him and touched his skin. "That healing technique is very neat."

"It consumes a lot of energy, though," Aidan replied.

Kalukaga slapped his back. He almost fell from that.

The hagur then nodded with a smile. "You survive. Good."

"Grace to the eye of fate! You're fine, Aidan," Sofiel said. "Fate seems to be on your side."

"Yeah," Aidan said, turning to look at the ships. "Who are they anyway?"

Sofiel approached him, but Aidan stepped away from her a little. He didn't want her to caught his smell.

"They're from the Ramthall family. That lady and the child on the ship is the wife and son of Kanend Ramthall, Duke of Ramthall," Gomon said.

"They named the territory they ruled with their family name?" Aidan asked.

"Why not?"

Aidan blinked. "You're right. Why not."

He forgot that things were done differently here.

Ramthall family. I think I've heard of that name before.

Oh yeah, Maninsov mentioned it before. The Ramthall family is the one who made magical A.I that can control golems and vehicles.

So this was their power. Considering their ability to make a literal A.I, automatic transportation, and even maids, their power must be much larger than this. Aidan wouldn't be surprised if they have the power to eliminate the shaman with a wave of a hand.

They only send a hundred golem and maybe the weakest ones because they didn't want to destroy the school.

Well, a lot of trees had fallen from the opening of the vortex earlier so it kind of defeated the purpose there.

Aidan tapped Gomon on the shoulder. "Why don't you talk to them and ask one of those golems for yourself?"

Gomon looked at him. His expression said: Are you dumb?

"It's fine if they say no," Aidan said.

Gomon shook his head. "Those golems are expensive to maintain. See those bright crystals all over their body? Those aren't normal crystals. Each one could cost an entire mansion. This was why the Ramthall family rarely went into war. It was too expensive for them to do so."

"Really?" Aidan asked.

"Yes. That, and the fact that the family is well-known to love money. They are in favor of saving it rather than spending it."

"Is that why they make the contritum?"

Gomon raised an eyebrow. "You already know about that? Yeah, they're everywhere right. Those things are one of the family's main business."

"What other business do they have?"

"Well, you know they have maid golems right? They let those golems enter people's homes and cleaned them. They would go to hotels and restaurants too. They also have golems that can fly. But the wings prevent them from cleaning tight spaces."

"Those ships don't have wings," Aidan said.

"Yes, but they are very expensive too. Look at those crystals in the hulls. Those are much bigger than the golems. You think they would spend that crystal on a cleaning golem?"

"I guess not."

"Exactly."

Aidan noticed Sofiel looking at him. She seemed to hesitate about something. Did she catch his bad odor?

That was no good. He should really take a bath. It would be embarrassing if she caught it. What about his breath? That would be terrible too. He shouldn't talk near her.

Feval put an arm around his shoulders. "Alright, enough talking. Now that the shaman is gone. We can go home in peace."

"Are we going with them?" Aidan asked.

Feval scoffed and smiled. "No. We are not allowed to do that."

Aidan nodded. Those were nobles after all. "Well, let us go home then."
