Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 A Fine Seed

Aidan and others laughed out loud as they walked through the forest while they talked about something funny.

They traveled peacefully now. No shaman wanted to kill them. No cultists wanted to sacrifice them.

Occasionally, some strong beasts would appear and attacked, but Feval and Ledrind already got that covered.

One or two attacks from them and the job was done.

As the group talked with each other, the space near them suddenly fell to the ground.

"So, it's you, Aidan," A familiar wizard voice said.

"Vice-dean?" Aidan asked.

The vice-dean laughed. "I haven't properly introduced myself to you. Some of you might already know. But my name is Tillre Vod. The vice-dean of Bleassephere University. You can simply call me vice-dean if you like."

"Yes, sir." Aidan nodded.

Tillre Vod raised one eyebrow. "What happened to you all?" He stepped out of the portal and approached them. "Oh dear, when we get back we'll fill you up with food and water. You might not be students here, but we will take care of you."

Aidan was reassured when he heard that. He thought the vice-dean would simply send them home. but apparently, the vice-dean was a nice person.

Aidan looked at him, smiling. Usually, people in power wouldn't care so much about the masses. A vice-dean might not be much, but the position was quite high.

This meant that the school was good.

Every teacher he met in the school really tried to teach as best as they can.

Aidan couldn't believe he'd say this, but he wanted to go to school now.

Sofiel and the others strode to his side. He had made new friends. And he believed he could count on them.

Tillre approached the portal and waved to Aidan. "You can enter inside first. I will bring the others somewhere else for some food."

Aidan nodded. "Thank you, vice-dean."

Sofiel and the others said their thanks and entered the portal.

Tillre stood there, smiling as the space closed itself and the fate energy dissipated. "How's his progress."

Feval crossed his arms. "Remarkable. You said the kid only arrived here a few days ago?"

"How remarkable?" Tillre continued.

"He improved quickly in battle," Feval said. "It's like every time he kills something, his strength would increase."

Tillre nodded. "He has great talent that's for sure. You know he learned [Internal Healing] in a day?"

"So he's smarter than I thought." Feval chuckled. "That kid is truly a fine seed."

"What about his mindset. How's his behavior under stress?"

Feval frowned. "It's not normal. He's still young but he has no problem with killing. In fact, all of his strikes were lethal. All of his movements were focused on killing the enemy as soon as possible. Yet, other times he seemed to be uncomfortable with the act. And just earlier, he simply wanted to die."

"What do you mean?"

"He charged toward the shaman by himself when he couldn't escape. He fought like an animal."

"So, he's brave," Tillre commented.

"Are you going to train him again?" Feval asked.

Tillre stayed silent. Aidan had a great talent. It would be a waste not to train that potential properly. He didn't have much time to waste.

"He will need further training that's for sure," Tillre said. "From your words, I deduct that Aidan is a person that dislikes killings but allows it as long as he has a strong reason to do it. And he will not cower in fear when cornered. He's the perfect fit for us."

He turned around and looked at the actors. "The arrival of the Ramthall family might be unexpected, but you all have done well."

They cheered. "It's in our honor to help you, sir."

Tillre nodded and waved his hand. The space around them distorted and their appearance turned into healthy and well-built men and women. "You all can go now. Thank you for your help.

Aidan and the others walked through the hallway. They were dirty, hungry, and thirsty. First, they had to fight against many monsters in the forest. Then they were captured by a group of weird cultists. And lastly, they were chased by a powerful shaman. A lot had happened.

Aidan wondered how he survived all that. Every one of those events could result in his death. But he didn't.

"Why don't we take a bath first. And we'll meet at the cafeteria?" Gomon suggested.

That was a wonderful idea. Aidan thought they would go to their dorm and sleep, but the cafeteria sounded nice. And he would make sure to take a proper bath. That way his smell would be gone.

He looked at Sofiel who was also staring at him. "I guess I will meet you there, Sofiel."

Sofiel nodded meekly and sprinted away. Siraye followed her.

What was that about? Was it because of my smell? I should take a bath.

I hope the bath has enough soap.

Aidan turned around and waved goodbye to Gomon and Kalukaga. "See you later then."

Aidan strode through the hallway. He wanted to take a proper bath and meet Sofiel right after.

Wait. I don't know where the bath is!

Gomon and Kalukaga were already gone. Aidan sighed. Guessed he just had to ask someone else.

"Aidan!"

Aidan turned around to see who called him. "Maninsov?"

Maninsov ran up to him. "Where the hell have you been? I've been looking for you and Kalukaga."

"Oh, you won't believe what we have gone through. It was a disaster."

Maninsov looked at him up and down. Yeah, I can see that."

"I was about to ask," Aidan said. "Where is the bath? I want to take a shower."

"We have a bath in our dorm."

"Really?" He hadn't seen any bathroom in his dorm. "Alright then. I'll go and clean myself. Why don't you go to the cafeteria? Kalukaga and my new friends will be there."

Maninsov crossed his arms and smiled. "And do you know where the cafeteria is?"

"Uh… I don't." Aidan forgot to ask that too.

Maninsov sighed. "Let's just go together. You can wash. I will be waiting in your room."

That sounded wrong, but Aidan quickly cleared that thought. "Alright."

Both of them went to dorm 39 and entered inside.

Aidan sighed in relief. "It's nice to be back again."

"You really have it bad huh," Maninsov said.

"Yep, I'll tell you about it later. Kalukaga and the others can share the story too."

Maninsov nodded, then sat down on the bed. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes. "Well, you go take a bath now. Don't take too long."

Aidan gave him a thumbs up and asked where the bathroom was again. Maninsov pointed towards the door that looked exactly the same as the wall. There was a small handle there.

So that's where the bathroom is. Why do they have to make it so hidden?

Aidan went inside and was amazed that this world actually had showers. It wasn't much different from the shower back on earth except for the part where it was made out of wood.

He liked the texture of it. Under the shower was a small switch. Its function was obvious.
