Zhan was glad he'd had a chance to talk with Killian about his 'accident' and the other mysterious goings-on in the palace since the wedding of the Crown Prince. Killian's spy network had no rivals. If anyone could get to the bottom of these incidents, it was him. Best to leave the information-gathering to the professionals.
He knew that Killian would send his spies out to investigate these matters once he had regrouped them and confirmed their loyalty. This delay was troubling, but the fact that someone had successfully scattered the network was even more disturbing.
Once Killian had gathered all of the information he could, the two of them would meet with Daimon to strategize. This had always served them well in the past. There was no reason to think that it would not serve them in future as well.
