Daimon rejoined his wife just as their attendants arrived to escort the Imperial Couple to the Cathedral. Their entourage consisted of guards, maids, and members of the army all arrayed in appropriately "plain" outfits for religious worship. As with anything to do with the Emperor, 'plain' and 'simple' were relative terms.
Rowena and Daimon were bustled into their private carriage and escorted by General Zhan and a small calvary regiment of twenty soldiers. Behind the carriage was a cortege of 30 guards. Unbeknownst to Rowena, the military members would not actually be allowed to enter the cathedral as their presence would be seen as being in opposition to the idea of peace.
Behind the armed escort Rowena's nine maids rode in a wagon. Unlike the military members, they would be allowed into the cathedral. However, they would have to sit in a pew at the back of the cathedral with other commoners.
