Zhan, Kiros, and Cordwen arrived in Zayte around nine in the morning.
Zhan's group of 8 soldiers were less than an hour behind. Within two more house the larger contingency of his men, along with the carriage they picked up in a neighboring kingdom, would arrive.
They waited astride their horses just outside the castle. They were about to move forward when movement out of the corner of his eye caught the general's attention. He swiftly motioned to his compatriots who followed the general's gaze to a window on the top floor of a small turret.
They watched in amazement as a slim figure clothed entirely in black exited a tiny window and walked along the thin ledge until they reached a seeming dead end. With astonishing agility and grace, they nimbly jumped from that ledge to another then continued to walk towards a trellis that clung to the castle wall.
