Daimon hesitantly knocked on the door of his own chambers. He didn't want to interrupt Rowena's reunion with her mother. However, he really needed her comforting presence.
"Enter" came Rowena's lilting voice.
Daimon entered to find his wife sitting alone at the table drinking tea. The snacks were already gone. But dinner for two would soon arrive.
"How is your mother?" He inquired, anxious to hear something good.
"Oh, she is wonderful! And doing so well, although she missed me terribly." Rowena gushed.
"I was reluctant to let he go, but she needed to rest after her long journey."
Daimon smiled indulgently. He loved to see his wife so happy. She'd been so troubled by recent events that she'd been looking tired, worried, and frustrated lately. Although, of course, still very beautiful.
