Chapter 4 - The Endless Hour 4

I quickly make haste to the hotel riding across the road on my low rider. The clouds morphed into a gray color while rain drizzles sprinkled the ground. Driving into the city for a few minutes, I make it to the hotel. I head toward the back of the hotel and then park. The plan was simple.

1. Gain control of the light systems

2. Breach in from the flat roof's door silently

I had my breaching equipment in my bag with my laptop to gain control of the light systems. I grapple onto the top of the hotel. After arriving at the hotel's flat roof, I get to the control box in the electrical area to access the light systems. Getting into the lights system was the easy part. A small lock protects some light systems, but most are left unprotected, unlike this hotel. I pressure the lock with the open ends of both sides of my fingers, placing my hands over each side of the shackle. I force the claw of my fingers together until the shackles break into two. I fish out both halves of the shackle to remove the lock. Upon removing the lock, I'm prompted with the access panel. The access panel contains a black control panel attached to a coil cord with a keyboard on the face. Programming it to do as I command was almost effortless. Scrolling through the menu selection, I get to the "Instant Select" option. You can type whatever you want the lights to do by contacting this option. I hit enter to submit, but it prompts me with a password.

** HACKER TIPS ** Should it ask you for a password. Try "DOTS," the default password. In all likelihood, the crew will not have changed it. However, in this case, they did. Simply hold the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys to reset the password. While holding enter "DIPY." It resets the password back to the default "DOTS." After resetting the password, I plant my flash drive on the panel's USB port, giving me complete control of the light system. I set up some simple commands for the system using my laptop. Afterward, I transfer these simple commands onto my smartwatch to control them remotely.

I swiftly breach into the hotel's reinforced hatch, silently using my breaching torch. The Breaching Torch's destructive capabilities are almost flawless, breaking through virtually any surface at an inaudible sound. However, the surfaces must be destroyed up to a certain level by the breaching torch before it's destroyed.

I finally managed to get into the hotel silently and have access to the light systems. The first part of the plan was complete. There were about 20 floors in the hotel. Rafeh Anfernee's room was the 7th room on the 14th floor. I was on the 20th. Before I make my way there, I scan my surroundings closely. I spotted three cameras right on top of me in every direction. Lucky enough, I was in the perfect place to be, the blind spots of all three cameras. I immediately turn on the EMC (electromagnetic cloak) on the back of my mask. This device makes me appear almost invisible to any camera feed for about 13 minutes before recharge. The recharge time is about 7 minutes.

Before I make haste to the 14th floor, I toss out my throw bot to give myself surveillance of the hotel. I head toward the 14th floor using my drone and see nothing out of the ordinary. As I near the 7th room, I see two men in suits guarding the door like watchdogs. I scrutinized the men and saw they were armed with pistols. There were about 8 minutes left on my EMC, so I quickly made my move.

In my EMC, I faded from reality and became the unseen as I crept across the hotel floors noiselessly, making it to the 14th floor. I approached an area that kept me concealed from the guard's view and gave me a good idea of the guards. I examined them more closely now that I had an in-person view of them. One of the guards had size, and I could tell he could use it. The other guard had a slender yet sharp build; I knew he had training.

After studying them for a good while, I started hypothesizing and memorizing all possible moves either could make. The goal was to not make a scene and handle this efficiently and rapidly. I looked down at my watch. The clock twisted horribly, burning and conceiving an image of a never-ending hour. I blink briskly to uncover the truth. However, this was the truth. I snap back into reality and face the hour, the future, and the time wasted. I looked back down at my watch, and at the press of a button, all of it would start.

I force my finger down on the button. The hotel falls into darkness. It begins. I turn on my glance goggles, which keep my vision in the darkest and most harrowing situations. I lean forward, look ahead with my shoulder blades tightened, and sprint toward the larger guard. I grab onto his shoulder and arm to anchor myself toward him. I pull his shoulders as I rotate them to get behind them. He started resisting my hold. I place my inside leg behind him, then pivot to get behind him. I yank him toward me like a rope and wrap my dominant arm around his neck. I start applying pressure after sliding my forearm under his chin. He struggles for a bit, then falls asleep.

"Gerald, you there?!" The slender guard exclaims.

"He's on sabbatical," I say with a smile.

He tries aiming his pistol at me but can't get a good look. I quickly grab onto his arm and disarm him. He then twists his arm through my hands, dropping his gun while flipping into the air dropping kicking me. He's definitely had training. I get up silently. His kick angered me. But even so, he deserves a handicap. I placed one hand behind my back and then completely and utterly dominated him. I didn't crack his skull. I didn't crush his larynx. I don't break his ribs or punch my hand through his chest. I do just enough to keep him out of the hospital.
