Chereads / Trapped Goddess in a Godless World / Chapter 2 - Goddess of None

Chapter 2 - Goddess of None

[WARNING]

[WARNING]

Cithrel head pounded as a sound vibrated around her.

[WARNING]

[GODDESS REVIVIAL - DENIED]

She tried to push her hand to her head, but there was nothing. Her heart skipped a beat.

[WARNING]

Even if she couldn't feel her hands, annoyance ticked at her. She understood nothing that was happening. She understood nothing of the warnings that was raging around her.

[WARNI--]

"Shut up, System."

This new voice sent of shiver of fear through Cithrel. It was understandable for this being was more powerful then the half-elf could dream of being. Especially at that moment.

"Tell me why I, the great Reincarnationer, have been summoned."

Had she not been in a world of confusion, Cithrel would have grinned at the silence. For even if this strange voice brought shivers of fear, it had asked for the silence.

"System!"

[I am here to be command.]

"Then why have I been summoned."

Silence formed in the cold abyss.

[To pray to yourself?]

The man sneered before he looked at the beautiful half-elf as she floated in the air. It seemed someone had once more been playing with the ball of souls and lost one.

"Return the soul to the machine and leave your endless crying out of your next warnings."

Sensing a forbidding feeling, Cithrel knew that she had to act now. She needed to bring attention to her awaken state. But her limbs were led! What could she hope to do?

"No!" Her thought was her own and her voice could not be heard.

[SYSTEM 666 ACTIVIATION 3%]

Cithrel desperately fought against the weight on her.

[SYSTEM 666 ACTIVIATION 33%]

She fought as she thought of what happened. Had she somehow entered a different game? Had her connection been lost? Where was she?

[SYSTEM 666 ACTIVIATION 66%]

[SYSTEM 666 - ERROR]

"What is taking you so long to take the elf!"

[There is another system stopping me.]

Cithrel struggled to hear it as a white-noise vibrated.

[SYSTEM 666 - REBOOT]

[SYSTEM 666 ACTIVIATION 1%]

"Ha, another system. Do you think me a fool!" The God glared at the abyss. Flames grew around the area, shinning light on nothing. "What is this other system!"

The roar vibrated and even Cithrel could tell that this stranger was upset.

[System 666]

"..."

Warmth swept through the half-elf suddenly, From the tip of her toes to the top of her head. A glow formed, stealing the warmth of the flames.

Once more the two were in complete darkness.

"New order System. Destroy the elf and wipe out that system."

A bright, sinister light appeared. Cithrel felt an incredible pain and she became surrounded by it. Her fingers and toes curled as she screamed.

[GODDESS REVIVIAL - FORCE ACTIVATED]

The light shattered.

"System, annihilate that elf!"

[I can not do that]

Cithrel breathed out in relief as she slowly felt like herself. Slowly, she found herself moving from her knees and looking around. Even with her being in an abyss, she could see a man.

Had she not be rejoicing in the relief, she would have the man try to have her killed by some system.

"Who are you?"

A tsking came from him. "No one you need to concern yourself with, elf! Go back to where you belong."

"How?"

"Figure it out."

[Only the God of Reincarnation can help you. However you will never be able to return to the place you have died without a key.]

Cithrel titled her head, as she listened to a voice that didn't belong to her or the man. Even though she should have questioned it, Cithrel did not. She had been in many weird experiences before.

All that involved the VR Chip connected to her temple.

"Key?"

"The elf doesn't need a key. And I have no reason to help her!"

Cithrel took a step away from the stranger. It was clear that her being was not wanted there.

[A key is a special item a Gods soul needs.]

"Stop spouting sprouting out secrets, System!"

[I am here to be command.]

Cithrel wished that she could see this man that was giving out orders. If only so she knew what he looked like for when she was feeling up to getting revenge.

"I heard another a voice. System 666. Is it like you?"

[Yes and No. Each God is give--]

"System!"

Pressure flew from him, weighing Cithrel down.

[PROCESSING THREAT LEVEL]

[PROCESS COMPLETE. THREAT LEVEL - SS CALAMITY]

[GODDESS ACTIVATION - REPEL OF THE DEVIL]

In seconds the weight that threatened to crush her disappeared.

[I am here to be command. When a question is asked, I must answer.]

"Not to a Goddess of none!" The mans roar sent shock waves.

Cithrel was reminded of the games she had played. Where the system would auto act when something happened that shouldn't. From players stumbling across hidden beasts, too glitches that get used too many times.

She was tempted to reach out and see if what protected her could be felt.

[I must do my job as you must do your job, God of Reincarnation]

"You're the one who is supposed to help me?"

She had cut in before the God could once more roar at the helpful system. Even if she was curious about how it worked, and what game she found herself stuck in, she could not ask.

"Why should I help you?"

Cithrel took another step back, her radar doing a backflip before scurrying away.

"Because its your job."

"You're below my pay grade."

"You mustn't make a lot."

"More then a mere elf."

"Half-elf, and I don't make anything." She grinned. "Besides the allowance my parents give me."

She was beginning to find this game fascinating as it interacted with her. She did not believe that she was in any serious danger and from the sudden loss of System 666, Cithrel could only come to terms with it not being needed.

"Elf." He sneered at her. "System, what if I don't help this rodent."

Cithrel concluded that the AI systems had became advanced.

[You will be stripped of everything and tossed to the Under World.]

"Choose, Goddess of None, rather you will be reincarnated as the Heroine, destined for a life of power, light, and love. Or as the Villainess, destined for misery, jealousy, and fierce betrayal."

His sudden mood to help caused her to retreat even more. Even with nothing to protect her, Cithrel preferred distance when it came to uncertain things. A frown grew attached to her beautiful face.

More questions filled her mind.

"Goddess of None?" She titled her head. "Who is the Goddess of None?"

"Choose or I will for you."

Cithrel found neither option all that pleasing.

"Neither."

"I didn't give that option."

"You told me to choose and I did. I want neither. Why should I starve to be a heroine or a villainess when both will just have troublesome lives in this game? Why should I fight and appear dumbfounded to win over a heart that I don't need or to be seen as evil for what? Telling some nice girl with big boobs, no? I'll pass."

Cithrel stood her ground as she crossed her arms.

She simply didn't want either of them. Her choses didn't sound like she would be in a world of blood and wars; in a world where she would have to fight for each breath and bathe in the blood of those who betrayed her.

"Very well, I will pick for you. A reincarnation is no fun, so then I will transmigrate you to another world. One that you do not believe exist. Goddess of None, here this request, because this key you seek is in front of your face, but even you will not be able to get it.

"You, who had thought little of a world loved by another, will starve and struggle. With no worshipers, your powers will be none. With no knowledge, you shall be abandoned. With no strength, you will always fail.

"Goddess of None, you will be forced to face a life that is too easy. A life others have bagged for but can not acquire without your death. For forcing me out of my break, you will be sent to Bloodrim. Defeat the game, find the key, and return to where you came. But don't forget, there are no second chances in this life."

Cithrel had listened but she still did not understand. Who was the Goddess of None and what did this God mean she was being transmigrated to Bloodrim.

"Wait! Not that on--"

She could not finish her plea before she was wisped away to a world she did not believe to be real. To a game that her killer had created. To a place she must fight and live in, even after leaving a one star review.

Gone she was, but a system had not finished until that moment. Giving the powerless Goddess a chance to succeed in a place where others prayed she would fail.
