Heth and Drake walked up to a gate right in front of a large cave entrance. Drake noticed how battle worn this place seemed to be, every square inch had giant strike marks on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Drake was about to go into the cave to see what the first test would be when the chief put his massive hand in front of Drake to stop him.
Heth calmly states,"From here you will face a snake-like monster called [The Unpierceable]. It revives itself every 250 days after death due to some trace phoenix blood in its system. I can't wait to see how you deal with this monster! I have faced this beast 3 times and I can promise you it doesn't get easier!"
Drake smiled and said,"What fool would attempt to take a test without being confident in their strength?" Heth's eyes lit up as he started to think how lucky he was that someone came for him so soon, and he's a strong, confident person!
The duo walked into the cave and that was when Drake finally got the notification he was waiting for.
[System Notification: You have entered Secret Quest: Heavenly Heth]
[System Notification: Now starting Test 1 of (?). Spawning [The Unpierceable]]
Drake watched on in fascination as a giant flame exploded in front of his face and a giant, red-gold coloured snake emerged from the flames. When compared to the Epic class Basilisk Drake noticed that it was about half its size but Drake could feel that it was not inferior. This type of monster was known as a 'Field Boss', which just meant that it spawned due to a quest in the overworld instead of a dungeon. Field Bosses are similar to boss monsters in dungeons of any variety, and just like dungeons, a Field Bosses power scales to the player who activated it.
General said in his mind,"My lord, I am ready to carry out the plan!"
Drake nodded and stared at the almost completely formed snake and said back,"Ok, I don't know hand to hand that well so I will rely on you far more in the later battle!" Drake was going to go all out, he was going to go for the secret quest inside the secret quest! It would require him battling at 100% but that would require him to act like he didn't know what the boss's weakness was. Drake activated his recorder and set it so it would follow closely but be intangible, something he didn't know he could even do until Loco had msged him about it a week ago.
Heth yelled out,"Attack!" and Drake immediately pulled out his spear and slammed the end into the side of the snake before anyone could tell what happened. Drake frowned whenever he did not pierce the snake and only managed to push it away with his thrust. Heth watched on with glee upon seeing the absolute power that Drake had just used, thinking to himself,'This guy better not die!'.
The snake, now thoroughly pissed off, attacked Drake and managed to catch his foot in it's mouth. The snake whipped Drake around and released him in one smooth motion, slamming him into an adjacent wall. Drake quickly got up and started his techniques on the snake, and with every swing he appeared to get more and more agitated. Drake was dodging the snake, blocking it's attacks, and swinging his spear with all of his strength, however the techniques were apparently not enough and Drake was unsuccessful everytime.
Heth thought to himself,'This will probably be his limit, I wonder if he will-', however his thoughts were suddenly cut off when he noticed that Drake was starting to leak some red mist out of his body while blocking the snake. To Heth, who was a warrior, he could tell that his was most likely an energy of some kind, like mana or warrior energy. However Heth didn't understand why Drake would purposefully leak his energy.
Drake smiled as he caught a glimpse of Heth's confused face, and he knew now was the time. He thrust very hard into the snakes body, sending it flying into the cave wall on the other side. While the snake writhed in pain, trying to right itself, Drake released a bunch of his red mist, then just as quickly sucked it all inside once more. He caught another confused glance from Heth and that was when Drake released his bloody lightning aura.
Heth looked on as Drake's energy went from a red mist into a condensed liquid and finally disappeared altogether, and just when he was trying to figure out why, Drake unleashed a red lightning energy from his body. Heth was a warrior who had Cultivated his own type of 'Unique Energy' and Heth could certainly feel the pure, refined energy coming from Drake's direction.
Apparently the snake felt it too as Drake, who was covered in his bloody lightning aura, felt a strong sense of bloodlust coming from the snake. Drake didn't wait for the snake to attack and sharply accelerated forwards, faster than ever thanks to the boost from his aura. He struck down at the tail of the snake, trying to catch it off guard, but once more it seemed that drake wasn't strong enough as no blood came from the snake.
The snake in response, whipped it's tail in the direction of Drake, however he jumped over it and ran over behind the snake. Drake ran up the cave wall behind the snake, pushing off of it once he was eye level with it, attempting to strike it in the eye, a possible weak point. However, much like the body, even the eyes of the snake could not be cut or pierced and Heth could see Drake struggling to figure out the solution. Had it been any other person, Heth might have stopped the test here, but Heth watched as Drake started to slowly get stronger and stronger as he searched for weak points. Heth's warrior blood was starting to bubble and his legs were starting to get restless.
Drake dodged another attempted bite from the snake as he called upon his body double to attack with him. Heth watched as another Drake suddenly appeared on the field and started to attack with the original. Heth observed that the new person seemed to coordinate perfectly with the original and also used the same type of attacks and moved very similarly to the other one.
Drake and the double crossed each other's path in an X formation, quickly surrounding the snake on both sides. The snake focused on the double and attempted to bite the double, however the double jumped back to avoid it while Drake calmed himself and got ready to do the same thing he did at the field. The double continued to distract the snake by luring it into the line of sight and striking and dodging over and over again.
Heth noticed this odd strategy and was wondering what Drake could be setting up, every move Drake used seemed to be honed to perfection and he could use a variety of any of them in a second. Yet, here he was, standing still in a fighting position while his double fought for him, and his energy seemed to steadily be growing!
The double then got hit by the snake's tail, and like he was never there an audible 'poof' was heard and he disappeared. The snake, now enraged that it's prey got away, turned around and glared at Drake once more, screaming its head off.
Drake opened his eyes and smiled, simply saying,"Die!". He then unleashed his Void thrust, and a huge beam of energy emerged from the spear, heading towards the snake at top speeds.
Heth wasn't expecting the explosion that followed Drake's special move and he was knocked off his feet as he was blasted back by the explosive pressure and wind. Heth looked on as his blood began to seriously crave a fight from this human, he was much weaker than Heth, yet Heth wanted to fight this human with every fiber of his being!
Drake looked on at the dust cloud that was formed from the snake and began to approach. As he got closer to where the snake should be he heard Heth shout to him,"Don't!". However Drake already knew that his move wouldn't work and braced himself for the snake's attack. Just like he predicted the snake was not dead and it violently whipped its body at Drake, knocking him away from itself as hard as it could and sending Drake flying into the wall on the other side of the room.
Heth sighed sadly and began to say,"The test is o-"
That was when Drake's aura erupted from the dust cloud he was in, instantly clearing away the debris. Heth looked at Drake as his face was bloodied and bruised, and admired him for powering through. However he was stunned at Drake's next words,"You damn snake. No matter how I attack you, nothing works. Fine." Heth saw Drake smile an evil smile and say,"If I can't cut you, I'll just beat you to death!"
Drake's bloody lightning aura flared up at this comment and Drake stabbed his spear into the ground. Drake cracked his knuckles and neck and started to laugh,"Hahaha! This is so much fun! Give me a real fight!" Drake yelled out in what appeared to be pure joy and ecstasy.
