Blair wakes up to everyone staring at her with a terrified look.
Last thing she remembered was seeing a shadowy figure in the forest and then…
"Shadowy figure?" Blair thought to herself. Where did she get that idea from? "No… I don't remember that. How did that get in my head?"
The last thing she remembered was pain flaring up on her temple scar and seeing Vanaglo…
"Blair!"
Blair jumped at Vanagloria's voice, only to be held down by vines and stems strapping her down to the chair.
"Wait a second…"
Quetzalcoatl, the dragon she was riding on was way above the ground level.
Just to Blair's right was the top to their hide-out mountain.
The majestic bird dragon looked extravagant with all of its rainbow colors as it soared through the air.
"Blair, are you okay?" Vanagloria asked her once again.
Blair had never seen Vanagloria look this worried.
"Yeah? I feel fine I guess. I don't know what happened, I think I blacked out."
"Nothing else?"
"You didn't hear what you said?" You all heard her right?" Martyr looked at the group.
They mostly all nodded their heads. Even the forest champion looked worried.
"No… don't tell me I said something dumb."
"No it was… you… you just recited a line of a prophecy." Martyr said.
"Prophecy? Like one of the old ones Astreum used to give to heros through oracles?"
"Yeah… exactly like that." Samsara said.
"Wait so you're saying they just did that to me. Astreum talked through me to you all."
"Yeah…"
"I thought that was just something earth made up for their little myths. Wow, does that make me like the main character or something? Okay, wait what did they say? Was it for us?"
They all looked at each other for answers that none of them seemed to have. It was clear they hadn't discussed it very much yet.
"I mean we all got one right?" Martyr asked.
"Yeah." They all said in unison.
"Did we all get the same one? Because mine said, 'Fate will be…"
"'…balanced by your sins, murdering under a facade. First Divergence, then the crimson terrorist and every elemental god.'" Blair continued.
The purple scar on her head started to flame up in pain as she recited the prophecy. But by the time she put her hand on it the pain was already subsiding.
"Ow…" Blair said as she rubbed it.
She has had the scar ever since she can remember and this was the first time it started to hurt. It was always just kind of there.
"T-That's it!" Vanagloria was practically jumping out of her chair.
"So you heard that line too!" Martyr started getting excited as he realized he wasn't crazy.
"Yeah that's definitely it." Spectre said. He must've been high right now or something because he was not very affected by what was happening.
Spectre looked a little confused but he seemed like he was mostly just going with the flow of the moment happily.
"Wait so you can remember the prophecy?" Martyr asked Blair.
"Yeah…" she said, still rubbing the scar. It felt normal right now, no pain at all. "I don't know why, but I've definitely heard that before. It's like ingrained in my memory or something. It's weird though I don't like have it at the top of my mind."
"Say it again." Vega asked, from up front, breaking her streak of silence.
"Uh… okay…'Fate will be balanced by your sins, murdering under a facade. First Divergence, then the… Ah…"
Blair had to stop herself because her temple was burning.
"Are you okay?" Vanagloria sounded even more worried.
"I don't think I can say too much of it at one time." Blair said as the pain subsided.
"It's fine, at least we know somebody will remember it." Martyr said with a concerted look.
"I feel like there's more to it. I can sense it but I can't remember it. I know there's more to it. I think we need to write it down." Blair was scrambling all of her thoughts together. There were too many thoughts swirling around, all of them seemed important.
"Yeah that sounds about right. It felt like you got cut off when we woke back up from the vision." Vanagloria looked like she was pondering as well.
"Vision?"
"You got a vision?"
"What? You guys didn't?"
"No!"
"Wait, Vanagloria. What did you see?" Vega said sternly, turning around in her vine chair.
"Well uh… there was this big purple hallway. It looked all old and mystical and stuff… all six of us were there… along with…"
"Continue." Vega said impatiently.
Vanagloria had a worried look. She looked like she was choosing her words very carefully.
"There were three other people with us… A girl and a guy whose faces were covered by some weird kind of mist, and another person completely covered by the mist."
"Hmm. Nothing else?" The forest champion was staring down Vanagloria.
"I mean… the room had like, a big stained glass painting and a-ancient languages on the walls. Some of us were weari… dressed different. Other than that, that's all I saw." Vanagloria looked like she couldn't keep eye contact with the champion's falcon gaze.
"Do you know anything about this?" Martyr asked Vega.
"I wish I did." She answered, slightly turning her head towards him, still half-staring down Vanagloria.
Vega looked like she was thinking really hard, her thick brown eyebrows were scrunched together. Her solving process was probably much more analytical and precise compared to Blair's scrambled brain.
"It's definitely something surrounding Divergence and their antics. They don't like to share much about their past to the other champions." Vega sounded almost salty.
"But their past is already recorded and already engraved in history." Samsara looked confused.
"'Most' of their past. I think there is a lot more going on behind the scenes that they don't tell us about, even now. And I think this new prophecy is proof of it. I think the first thing I'm gonna do is interrogate them… after this trail."
"Wait, but doesn't the prophecy talk of Divergence in the future? I feel like telling them about their own death would be a pretty bad idea." Spectre said way too casually.
"Oh shit, it does? Oh shit, it does..." Horrified realization hit Vanagloria's face hard.
"Oh no this isn't good." Martyr started scratching his head in stress.
"And every elemental god…" Samsara was down at the furry dragon they were riding on.
"Don't think about it too much. Prophecies aren't always completely set in stone. And we don't even know the full prophecy yet or even who it's being told too. Wait to worry about it until then." Vega said to the group that was freaking out.
"Wait hold on…" Blair said. She had been only really half listening to the conversation, trying her best to dig deep into her memory for more of the prophecy.
"Gloria, who else was there?"
"Uh…" Vanagloria looked very caught off guard.
"Quickly before I lose this thought!" Blair didn't want to yell at her but this was urgent.
"There were… three other people. I don't know who though."
Blair had something.
Her temple was stinging, as she dug deeper and deeper in her brain.
Words were swirling around, twisting and turning around in her head like a dark pool of impending doom.
Familiar names she had never heard of before were popping up, parts of sentences showing themselves for a split second only to sink back into the void that was her memory.
Then… popping up from the depths of her brain…
"…Alstroemeria…"
"…Gilgamesh…"
"…Aurora…"
