Chapter 16 - First Morning!

Lili covered her face with the blanket as the sun's rays hit her face through the fine white curtain. "Idiot! Why didn't you make the curtains black too?" she cursed and murmured in sleep while rolling over the enormous bed.

"I won't wake up then," came a reply, which made her realize the idiot was also in the room. She bit her bottom lip and slowly opened her eyes. "What the heck?" her voice shirked, and her eyes closed tight, exposing the wrinkles in the corners. "What are you doing?" she yelled. "Why aren't you dressed? Don't you know that it's inappropriate to be this way, when a girl is in the room?"

"Hope the girl remembers I am her husband. And instead of blushing in secret, she can actually see me." Nik smirked, with eyes fixed on her rosy cheeks and long eyelashes.

Lili, in no time, covered her face with the bed sheet. She touched her cheeks to realize that she indeed was hot. 'What have you done?' she scolded herself, hitting her forehead. But the second she closed her eyes, all her concentration shifted to the visual that her eyes saw a minute back.

It was Niklaus' half naked body. Even though it was a brief moment, his toned muscles and body structure were like a picture imprinted on her head. '1… 2... 3… 4… 5… 6!' Her eyes twinkled and lip corners turned up, to recall his six- pack body. As she was excited, a water droplet that was crawling on those sexy abs made her feel boiling. 'Hope I was that water drop!' She gulped as she rewinded how the drop ran to reach his belly button.

Unknowingly, her forehead started to form sweat, her heart raced and a weird sensation between her legs made her toes cringe. "Done talking to yourself?" A voice brought her to the present world. She flinched to realize what she was doing. "Breakfast starts in ten minutes. Freshen up! I will ask Emily to give you some clothes." After the comment, the door slammed.

'Shit!' she cursed herself and shook her head in distress. 'Heart is more than body!' Lili told and reminded herself of how hypocrite he was. She remembered all the encounters that she faced with him and the way he treated her like an object. Of course, she didn't miss the main trait- the Mafia and the murderer.

Regardless of all that, she was happy to know her life wouldn't be in danger. The way Mr. Cooper rushed to check on her when she fell gave her a sense of security and support, which was what she was lacking from her father for her whole life.

'Knock! Knock!'

"Brother asked me to give this dress," Emily said in her beautiful voice. "And…" she sounded hesitating, "instructed you to be present in the dining room in ten minutes."

"Instructed?" Lili growled, pushed the bed sheet away and sat on the bed.

"Yes! I am keeping the dress here. Bye!" Emily babbled and ran away. She didn't want to be caught in a fight or romance between the newlywed couple.

Lili jumped out of the bed, ran, and opened the door. She looked in both directions but didn't find anyone there. She grabbed the dress with pinched lips and brows. 'What will he do if I take fifteen minutes?'

However, within five minutes, Lili was standing in front of the mirror, wearing a plain white shirt and beige coloured pants. "What's this? Will he take me to the office?" she thought as she tucked her shirt. 'Ten minutes is for those people who take a bath. It's not even twenty-four hours from my last bath.' she beamed to herself in the mirror.

"Finished!" Lili exclaimed, ran her fingers through her loose hair and sat on the bed. Yawning widely, she gazed around the room and walls in search of a clock or alarm, but there weren't any. "Even if there was, it would probably be black or white. Better not to see that boring clock!" she sighed and laughed to herself.

In that process, her eyes caught the white curtain, and instantly the smile on her life disappeared. She wanted to go out and feel the fresh morning breeze and sun rays, but the previous night's incident was still fresh in her memories. It added many questions to the earlier set, and those were tormenting her. Was Niklaus' decision, correct? Though the person is wrong and harming the young generation, is it correct to take death into our hands? How many people did he kill until now? Is he also addicted to any of those?

Swinging her legs and twisting the new ring on her finger, Lili couldn't decide whether he was good or bad, safe or dangerous, correct or wrong and trustable or not. "Ah!!" she groaned, as all those thoughts were bothering her.

She walked around the room for a minute to kill boredom. But at last, she decided to go down to enjoy the family drama instead of getting bored. She opened the door with a grin, but a second later, sadness took over her face to see the long way that she had to walk.

After walking a few steps, she wanted to sit in a wheelchair for the first time in her life. "Does he want to complete his morning walk at the house itself?" she hissed, cursing Nik for selecting the last room among all others.

"Done!" she huffed with hands over her hip. But the next second, she frowned again to notice the steps. "God!" She sobbed and ran down the stairs fast, so that she could complete it as soon as possible. Her throat dried up, the last pinch of energy drained out and legs weakened after the never intended morning exercise.

Lili at last came to the dining room to find the entire family waiting for her with empty plates in front. "Sorry! Am I late?" She apologized and sat in her place without wasting any time.

"Don't worry! I know that you must walk too much. How was your first night?" Robert asked.

Hearing that, Lili choked on her own spit. She glanced at Niklaus, who seemed to enjoy the question.

"Worst! No girl would wish to have such a kind of experience!" she replied, glaring at the mocking smile on Nik's lips.
