A few days later.
"Chloe is everything ready for Monday?" asked Natasha as she used her shoulder to hold her phone to her ear while she tidied up her office and took some scattered papers placing them in the bookshelf.
"Yes Natasha, everything is ready, oooh I am just so excited for Monday." squealed Chloe on the other side of the line causing Natasha to giggle.
"You know what, I agree with you, me too, I don't remember the last time I've felt so excited for something." said Natasha as she chuckled.
"Of course we are excited, all our several months of work have come down to this sole moment." said Chloe.
"I can already feel my stomach churning and it's not even Monday yet." said Chloe as she and Natasha laughed.
"I feel you Chloe, I really do, and I would like to say that I feel the same way but my stomach is perfectly fine." said Natasha as she laughed and Chloe laughed as well.
"I can't help but find myself triple checking everything over and over again. Everything on Monday has to go smoothly or else I don't know what I would do." said Chloe as she shook her head.
"I am sure that everything will be fine on Monday, we worked too hard for all our hard work not to pay off when it counts the most." said Natasha as Chloe nodded.
"I know right, Neil keeps on telling me to calm down but I keep on telling him that he doesn't understand, this is like my first ever big project that actually means something and I want everything to go smoothly, I cannot imagine this being a disaster, I tell you Natasha if something bad was to happen I wouldn't even be able to control myself, I would just break down crying." said Chloe with a giggle.
"Oh no, don't say that Chloe, you're scaring me, we shouldn't jinx it by thinking the worst, I am sure that everything will be okay, after all, it's just a formality." said Natasha as she walked to her desk and switched off her laptop.
"True, true." said Chloe as she nodded.
"Mom, dad is asking if you are getting dressed already or we'll be late." said Ethan in annoyance as he walked into the kitchen.
"I know, I know, I will be right there in a minute don't rush me." said Chloe.
"But you haven't even gotten dressed yet, we'll be late and you know how much dad and I hate to be late." said Ethan with a frown.
"I said I heard you Ethan now go away and finish dressing." she replied as Ethan scoffed and walked out of the kitchen in irritation.
"Don't mind him Natasha, he and his father are the same, they like to be early birds, I personally don't see any use in arriving to the party early. It's not like we are the hosts." said Chloe with a shake of her head as Natasha laughed.
"I agree with you, but he's right you should get dressed." said Natasha.
"Are you getting dressed already?" asked Chloe.
"Not at all, I just had some things to tidy in my office before I go." said Natasha.
"Oh then you better be quick, it's already ten minutes to four and the event starts at six." said Chloe.
"Which means you only have two hours to get ready." said Chloe.
"Yes, I know Chloe, I'm already done here, you should go get ready as well." said Natasha as she smiled.
"So I'll see you at the party then?" asked Chloe with a smile.
"Of course you will, take care and make sure you look splendid like you always do." said Natasha causing Chloe to giggle.
"Thank you Natasha, and I can't wait to see the dress you told me about." said Chloe as she smiled.
"See you soon." she replied.
"See you soon." replied Natasha with a smile as Chloe ended the call.
"Mommy, mommy, mommy, it's already four o'clock, we need to get ready for the party, we shouldn't be late." said Joy as she ran into her mother's office. This was actually the first official party that she would be attending and she was very excited about it, she woke up this morning ready to go.
"Yes, yes, yes my darling I know, where's your daddy?" asked Natasha.
"He's not back from work yet, but he said that he will be here before five o' clock." replied Joy.
"Ahh I see." said Natasha as usually she couldn't care less where Dom was, but they were to go together, arrive together and leave together, so if he was late it would certainly affect them.
"Yes mommy, so let's go, I really want to wear my dress." said Joy as she jumped up and down laughing.
"Okay, sweetie, slow down, firstly, I can tell that you've been outside playing with Meggie, you have dirt all over you, so you need to take a shower before you can wear your pretty dress." said Natasha as Joy frowned.
"Aww but mommy, I don't want to take a shower." said Joy with a frown.
"Why not darling?" asked Natasha.
"I don't want to..." she declared as Natasha chuckled.
"Well in this case, you don't have a choice, come on my baby, let's go shower together." said Natasha as she smiled.
"Really?" asked Joy as Natasha nodded and picked her up, causing her face to light up.
"Yes really, I want to wash my hair before we go, so let's shower together then I can style your hair and make sure you look very pretty then you can wear your dress." said Natasha as she walked into Joy's bedroom.
"Okay mommy." said Joy with a giggle as she seemed pleased with this.
"We are going to have so much fun getting ready!" declared Natasha as Joy giggled in response.
...
"No, no, no, don't touch that my darling." said Natasha as she was busy brushing Joy's hair in front of the dressing table in Joy's room.
"Why not mommy?" asked Joy as she looked up.
"Because that's gel and it's very stick and slimy, and I don't want you to get your hands dirty, you just took a shower." said Natasha as she continued to brush Joy's hair gently.
"Okay, but what is gel for?" she asked.
"It's for your hair my darling." said Natasha.
"But why are you using gel for my hair mommy?" asked Joy in confusion.
"Gel is used to style hair my darling, so tell me, do you want your hair to be styled straight like mine or do you want it to be left curly as it is?" asked Natasha as she put the brush down and applied some hair cream in Joy's hair.
"Hmm, I don't know mommy, what do you think?" asked Joy as she looked at her mother's reflection in the mirror.
"Well I do like your hair no matter the way it is. If you would like for your hair to be straight I wouldn't mind, but if you want to leave your hair curly I don't mind as well. I really love your curly hair my darling. I think that it's very soft and bouncy and it's your natural hair, so what do you think?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"I want to leave my hair curly mommy." said Joy as she smiled.
"Alright my darling." said Natasha as she smiled and added some gel into her hair.
"Mommy, why is my hair curly?" asked Joy.
"Well I don't really know my princess, it must be genetics." said Natasha as she smiled.
"But you and daddy have straight hair, how come mine is curly?" asked Joy in sincere confusion.
"I don't really know my darling, but your grandpappy always says that you have curly hair because your grandmama Mary had curly hair, so he says that the genes skipped a few generations and landed on you." said Natasha as she laughed and Joy giggled.
"Grandmama had curly hair?" asked Joy as Natasha nodded.
"Mhmm, it was as curly as yours, but her hair wasn't brown it was all grey." said Natasha as she smiled.
"I have never seen pictures of grandmama before." said Joy as Natasha focused on the hairstyle she was making for Joy.
"Oh sure you have my darling, maybe you were just too young to remember, all the photo albums are at grandpappy's house." said Natasha.
"I want to see the pictures of grandmama mommy." said Joy.
"Of course you can see them my darling, but not now, when we go to your grandpappy's house in a while, you will be able to see them, and also some baby pictures of your daddy and my baby pictures as well, they are all back home." said Natasha as she smiled.
"Okay, please don't forget mommy." said Joy.
"I won't forget my darling now please sit still so I can style your hair properly." said Natasha as Joy nodded.
"Okay mommy." she said with lively giggles.
